When Beyoncé & Jay-Z Gave Blue Ivy An $80K Diamond Stuffed Barbie For Her 1st Birthday
Image
Did Beyoncé and Jay-Z go overboard for Blue Ivy’s first birthday? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Barbie had her major return spotlight, thanks to the real-life movie that premiered in summer 2023. Greta Gerwig revived the fantasy icon, with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling embodying the perfect pair: Barbie and Ken. But to be honest, the fashion doll has been a style icon since forever.

She’s had careers, yachts, dream homes, and wardrobes bigger than walk-in closets. But nothing tops the version gifted to music royalty’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. Back in 2013, Beyoncé and Jay-Z celebrated their little girl’s first birthday with a party that screamed luxury.

The bash was more like a mini Met Gala, but a toddler edition. And the standout gift was a Barbie no one else on the planet owns. Crafted with 160 real diamonds set in white gold, the doll had an estimated price tag of $80,000 (as reported by Hello!

'Mufasa' Cast and Crew Reveal the Movies on Their Shelf Next to 'The Lion King' Prequel [Exclusive]
Image
What do The Fox and the Hound, Fantasia, and The Manchurian Candidate all have in common? They're all movies the cast and crew of Mufasa: The Lion King would place next to the Disney prequel's physical release on their shelves. Barry Jenkins's box-office-busting photorealistic animated musical drama is coming to store shelves on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on April 1, and to celebrate, Collider can share an exclusive video with the stars involved talking through what films deserve to sit with their creation. Whether for sentimental reasons, a Disney connection, or because they prefer to be neat and alphabetized, each person featured has a different answer for how they're displaying the new release with the movies they own.

The video opens with one of the film's two stars, Kelvin Harrison Jr., who plays Taka/Scar. Considering Mufasa is all about brothers, he thinks The Fox and the Hound...

Despite Himself, Kanye West Almost Made a Half Decent Album
Image
Shock value is nowhere near a revolutionary idea. In 2025, it’s easier to get away with bad behaviors so long as it falls within a certain anti-woke perspective — racists and and Nazis flourish on X while pro-Palestine protestors can be arrested and deported. It’s what’s so exasperating about Kanye West’s latest turn towards provocation. He’s been able to twist his unfathomably dumb and extremist thoughts into a never-ending loop of content, just like all of the men currently in power have. He just so happened to...

"We'll See": Kelvin Harrison Jr. Reacts to Potential Lion King Spin-Offs After 'Mufasa's Box Office Success
Image
Disney fans are still raving about Mufasa: The Lion King. Released in November 2024, the prequel film takes viewers on the journey of Mufasa’s coming-of-age story, and how his relationship with Scar became estranged — Kelvin Harrison Jr. shines as the film’s villain. The film was a dream come true for Harrison Jr., who’d been a longtime fan. With all the buzz surrounding the film continuing, he spoke with Collider about whether he’d be reprising his role in another Lion King project at Disney. He said:

"Oh, it's such a huge honor. I've talked about it a lot, but the original Lion King came out in '94. That was the year I was born, so it felt like my birth project in a lot of ways. I've been a big fan of that movie. It's one of my favorite Disney movies. Scar is definitely one of my favorite Disney villains.

'Mufasa: The Lion King' Set to Stream on Disney+ Starting Late March
Image
Mufasa: The Lion King opened over the holiday season of 2024 and, unlike most movies lately, played it out in theaters to generate some legs before being sent to PVOD. Now that its box-office run is wrapping up, Mufasa's next journey is upon us, and it involves a new streaming home for audiences who happened to miss it during the holidays.

Per People Magazine, Mufasa: The Lion King will hit Disney+ on Mar. 26, a few days over 3 months since the movie hit theaters on Dec. 20. The performance of the film has been exceptional, even over the weekend when it placed 8th place on the box office chart with a...

Jay-Z Claims Now Dismissed Rape Case Cost Him $20M In Lost Income; Was Timed To Embarrass Daughter Blue Ivy At ‘Mufasa’ Premiere
Image
The lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of repeatedly raping a minor in 2000 after the MTV VMAs was dismissed on Valentine’s Day, but the bitter relationship between the Jay-Z and attorney Tony Buzbee rages on.

Filed four days before the Buzbee-represented Jane Doe “voluntarily dismissed with prejudice” her claims, Jay-Z (aka Shawn Carter) made a declaration in the docket of Los Angeles Superior Court ripping the Texas-based attorney. Rejecting Buzbee’s attempt to have the Roc Nation boss’ defamation and extortion suit essentially gutted, Jay-Z’s February 10 filing says the “career-ending” accusations of assaulting a 13-year-old girl unsurprisingly damaged his business and his family — the former to the tune of $20 million a year.

While not mentioning the NFL, with which Roc Nation has a recently renewed Super Bowl Halftime Show deal, Jay-Z’s declaration makes clear that even if the Roger Goodell-run league was standing by him,...

“This feels like a throwaway award to appease her and Jay-Z”: Beyoncé’s Grammys Sweep Has Fans Claiming It’s the Music Industry Sucking Up to Them
Image
Beyoncé has done it again. The Queen Bey claimed yet another Grammy after many years of drought. But her latest win for Best Country Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards has sparked a firestorm of controversy, especially among country music fans.

Her album Cowboy Carter blends elements of country with her signature pop, R&b, and even gospel influences. Traditional country music fans believe that Beyoncé, an artist with no formal ties to country music, has no place in a category traditionally reserved for Nashville homegrown talent.

Beyonce Won’t Win Album Of The Year Grammy & Her Snub History Proves It
Image
Reading Time: 7 minutes

Beyonce is nominated for multiple Grammys in 2025, but historically, she’s been shut out from the top awards on multiple occasions.

Her newest album Cowboy Carter is nominated for Album of the Year, but that is one Grammy she has never won. While fans are rooting for her, it’s more than likely that she’ll miss out again.

Understand, this is not a criticism. However, in the past, Beyonce has been favored to win Album of the Year at the Grammys multiple times, but she’s always come up short when the final award gets handed out.

In our humble opinion, Cowboy Carter is certainly deserving of the prize, but there’s definitely no saying whether she’ll get the award.

Mufasa: The Lion King has dropped to #3 with the arrival of new movies, Flight Risk and One of Them Days. However, it is not so far behind in collections compared to the top two movies in the domestic daily chart. The movie is expected to surpass the entire domestic run of Wonka during this weekend. Mufasa Becomes Only The 10th Movie To Reach This 2024 Box Office Milestone
Image
Mufasa: The Lion King is continuing to roar its way to success. The latest Lion King movie has thrived in a slow January, competing against a small field consisting of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Nosferatu, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, and several other new releases. Wolf Man and One of Them Days were poised to top the box office over the holiday weekend. Even with Martin Luther King Day offering a chance for a booming box office, it has been a slow week. Still, despite only a trickle at the box office, Disney's lions are thriving.

According to a report by Variety, the Lion King prequel is expected to end the weekend with $209.8 million domestically and $588.4 million worldwide. With that total, it has officially become the 10th 2024 movie to reach the $200 million milestone domestically. It sits ahead of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which earned $196 million, and just behind Sonic 3's $218 million total.

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Fends off ‘Wolf Man’ at Box Office
Image
The beginning of the year is usually a quieter time for movie releases, and January 2025 is no exception. Although there are some exciting new releases, a 2024 blockbuster has managed to climb back to the top of the box office this weekend. In an interesting turn of events, Mufasa: The Lion King is the number-one film at the box office this past weekend, in a MLK holiday weekend box office haul that is one of the lowest in years.

According to a box office report from Deadline, the CGI Disney prequel directed by Barry Jenkins beat out new releases in a weekend that was the second lowest of the last ten years, not counting 2021, which was during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mufasa took in $16.5 million over the past four days, while the Keke Palmer and Sza-led comedy One of Them Days took the number 2 spot with around $14-15 million, barely losing out to the Disney film.

Beyoncé Christmas Halftime Show Controversy: Explained
Image
Beyoncé’s Christmas halftime show was the gift that lit up the NFL’s first-ever Netflix Christmas Gameday, sparkly, dramatic, and packed with Beychella-level energy. On December 25, 2024, at Nrg Stadium in her hometown of Houston, Queen Bey delivered a 13-minute performance that left fans reeling and critics talking. Dressed in an all-white, cowboy-inspired outfit by Roberto Cavalli, complete with a hat that screamed “Yeehaw, but make it fashion,” she made her grand entrance on a white horse, setting the tone for an unforgettable show.

While some questioned whether Beyoncé leaned too far into spectacle and not enough into the holiday spirit, others felt Netflix’s collaboration with the NFL was a little extra. Plus, let’s not forget the inevitable debates over the setlist, her Houston nods,...

Beyonce seems to be doing everything she can to distance her daughter, Blue Ivy, from Jay-Z amid the ongoing scandal linking the rapper to Sean “Diddy” Combs. So, what is Beyonce doing to safeguard her daughter with everything that has been going on of late?

Jay-Z Linked In Diddy Scandal

With all of the drama surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs of late since the rapper and business mogul was put behind bars, many cans of worms have been opened, linking several other celebs to the controversial celeb. One of those names that came up recently was none other than Jay-Z.

Mufasa: The Lion King Box Office Passes Huge Global Milestone, Reversing Grim Outlook In Weekend 3
Image
Mufasa: The Lion King has hit a major milestone that pushes it much closer to profitability after three weekends. The 2024 movie is a prequel to Disney's photorealistic CG-animated 2019 remake, following the origin story of the future king Mufasa (Aaron Pierre). The Mufasa: The Lion King release hit an early snag in its opening weekend when it fell severely below its original projections, earning just $35.4 million in North America and taking No. 2 behind the other new release, Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

Per Variety, as of Sunday morning, Mufasa: The Lion King is projected to close out its third weekend in theaters with a cumulative box office total of $476 million worldwide. This makes it just the 10th movie of the year to pass the $475 million milestone and leaves it neck and neck with the current No. 9 movie of 2024, Venom: The Last Dance ($476.8 million). This news comes at the same time that...
