Survivors Jeff Probst Said Things About J'Tia Taylor After She Dumped Her Tribe's Rice That Outraged Her
Image
Over the last several years, Survivor has gained many new fans who've needed to figure out which seasons to watch first. However, many Survivor fans have been around long enough to know who was the first person to be medically evacuated, which seasons are the best, and who the greatest players are. Many of those same fans of Jeff Probst's beloved reality show who know enough to rank the winners will remember J'Tia Taylor.

Easily one of the most infamous players ever, J'Tia is mostly remembered for her explosive behavior. Despite her unusual behavior while playing Survivor, however, J'Tia revealed why she is outraged by how Jeff Probst portrayed her.

Survivor's JTia Taylor Was Angry About What Jeff Probst Said About Her

For longtime fans of the show, there is no doubt that Survivor: Cagayan's JTia Taylor is best remembered for one thing. Early on during that season,...

Amanda Kimmel in Survivor (2000)
‘Survivor’ flameouts: 10 most embarrassing, cringe-worthy of all time include Russell Hantz, Amanda Kimmel …
Amanda Kimmel in Survivor (2000)
Oh, we had such hopes. Only one person can win “Survivor,” so 95% has to lose, but some lose harder than others. Some players look great on paper but utterly flame out once they start actually playing the game. Others do well for the majority of the season but end up choking in the end. Then there are those who play fantastic games on their first seasons but are not able to replicate that success on future iterations. Above, tour our guide of the most spectacular flameouts in “Survivor” history.

People like Amanda Kimmel and Russell Hantz have done well in multiple seasons, getting to Final Tribal Council not once but twice. But neither was able to convince the jury to vote for them to win in the end, with Amanda in particular seeming like a frontrunner to win only to flounder like a fish out of water in front of the jury.

Zeke Smith
After Wednesday’s shocking and emotional episode of Survivor, fans of the hit show took social media by storm to react to Zeke Smith being outed as transgender by fellow contestant Jeff Varner.

Fans were outraged by Varner’s decision, but praised Smith for the way he handled the situation, calling him a “shining star of a human being.”

“Zeke is the strongest Survivor I’ve ever seen,” wrote one fan. “That tribal was horrifying & moving & beautiful all in one.”

Another fan said the episode was “painful yet beautiful” and left them “speechless.”

“Love is so important! Acceptance of everyone is important.

Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
American Idol Recap: Who Run the World? Girls! (*Age 19 and Under)
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol (2002)
Pay no attention to Jennifer Lopez’s birth certificate! The “dewdrops in the enchanted forest” freshness of her visage is all the confirmation you need that the woman who gave us “Booty” (and booty) last summer is most definitely still a teenager.

Pity the poor mortals who have to age, though. “There’s something about when they’re that young,” J.Lo mused after 16-year-old Lovey James’ perky rendition of “Break Free” (a surprising hit for decaying 21-year-old Ariana Grande). “There’s a fearlessness… the same girl at 25 that comes in here and [hasn’t] had the success is a little beaten down.

Yung Woo Hwang in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Tony Vlachos talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Yung Woo Hwang in Survivor (2000)
The most memorable player in any give "Survivor" season is more a function of editing than of outwitting, outplaying and outlasting, so it stands to reason that there's absolutely no reason why the Sole Survivor should also be the Most Memorable Survivor. When it comes to "Survivor: Cagayan," however, there will be no doubt: It was the season of Tony Vlachos. The Jersey Cop build alliances, tore alliances apart, schemed, conspired, swore on loved ones, swore on his badge, found Idols, used Idols and bluffed with Idols. He also wasn't quiet about his domination of the game. Tony wore a target on his chest for 39 days and other players either chose to work with him, chose to vote other people out first or actively, in the case of Woo, carried Tony with him. Woo's decision to bring Tony rather than Kass with him to Final Tribal will be...

Yung Woo Hwang in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Yung 'Woo' Hwang talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Yung Woo Hwang in Survivor (2000)
Martial arts instructor Yung "Woo" Hwang hoped that his integrity would be worth a million dollars in last week's "Survivor: Cagayan" finale. After a relatively uneventful 38 days in the game, Woo scored a key victory in the season's Final Immunity Challenge, which left him to decide whether he wanted to go to the Final Jury against Kass, presumably easily beatable, or Tony. Although there was the sense that Tony had played this season's most aggressive game, Woo made the surprising decision to take his Brawn alliance-mate to the end. Or perhaps it was Because there was a sense that Tony had played the season's most aggressive game. Put in position to make a game-changing decision for the first time this season, Woo decided he wanted to rest his laurels on Honor, taking Tony because Tony deserved to go to the end and Kass didn't, or so he said. After some...

Interview: Kass McQuillen talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
If you read my interview with "Survivor: Cagayan" 4th Place finisher Spencer Bledsoe, you saw one approach to the "Survivor" experience. Spencer was circumspect, critical of his strategy and admitted that he would have voted for Tony, the season's winner, over himself. Today's exit interview, with 3rd Place finisher Kassandra "Kass" McQuillen, takes a different approach. Kass thinks she played the same game as Tony only with a different gender, she thinks Spencer and the other losing castaways were arrogant and she thinks that the "Survivor" finale live vote suggesting Woo would have easily beaten her was "revisionist." Kass thinks there's a double-standard when it comes to female "Survivor" players, particularly for moms, and she's confident that a male version of Kass would have won the season. And I'm not saying that she's wrong. In fact, on much of it, she's probably right. In our sometimes contentious exit interview, Kass...

Spencer Bledsoe and Jeremy Collins in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Spencer Bledsoe talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Spencer Bledsoe and Jeremy Collins in Survivor (2000)
[Prelude: This was a nutty, chaotic week and I really wasn't able to get on top of my seven "Amazing Race: All-Stars" and "Survivor: Cagayan" exit interviews. Apologies for the slowness, but it means a little extra content over the holiday weekend and whatnot. Starting tonight, I'll post my four "Survivor: Cagayan" exit interviews, one per day (give or take) starting with the season's fourth place finisher. Then I'll get to the three "Amazing Race: All-Stars" exit interviews, by which time you'll hopefully have forgotten how awful the finale was. Again, though, sorry for the delay.] My first two "Survivor: Cagayan" finale exit interviews could hardly be more different. Up first is Spencer Bledsoe, who made a disadvantageous alliance at the beginning with Garrett, an alliance that nearly led to his snuffing from the notoriously weak Brains tribe. Spencer came close to being in a power position after the Merge, but Kass' abrupt flip-flop had him scurrying for several weeks. Only a string of Immunity wins, aggressive scrambling and Tony's paranoia kept him from going home, but a tight Immunity loss to Kass at Final 4 ended his run. In some cases finishing fourth is a disappointment, but given Spencer's early position, such a long run was so impressive that he earned a vocal apology and a sealed letter of apology from "Survivor" host Jeff Probst, who underestimated him initially. Reflecting on his experience, super-fan Spencer is humble, introspective and self-deprecating, which runs counter to...

Jeff Probst at an event for The 36th Annual People's Choice Awards (2010)
Interview: Jeff Probst discusses the 'Survivor: Cagayan' season
Jeff Probst at an event for The 36th Annual People's Choice Awards (2010)
It's been a few years since I've talked with Jeff Probst either before a "Survivor" season or before a finale and I'd forgotten that I probably needed to request three or four hours as an interview time. Jeff Probst is in his 28th season of hosting "Survivor" and he still loves talking about the game, talking about his favorite players and the constant surprise that each season brings. You may not agree with his take on things -- I tend to root more for the underdogs, while Probst's love and admiration for certain Alpha Dog contestants is famous/notorious -- but you can't doubt his passion, even if it's for something like this season's all-power Tyler Perry Idol, which has been the source of ample grumbling on my weekly recaps. Tony, the finder of the Tyler Perry Idol, is a Jeff Probst kinda "Survivor" player, while death-cheating Spencer is the...

Trish Hegarty in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Trish Hegarty talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Trish Hegarty in Survivor (2000)
There are many reasons to like Trish Hegarty's "Survivor: Cagayan" game.  In short order, she was a key to blindsiding widely admired NBA veteran Cliff Robinson. Then she was part of a post-Tribal Council fight that led Lindsey to drop out, further shifting the balance of power. Soon after, with the numbers looking bad post-Merge, Trish was a conduit to convincing Kass to betray her fellow brains and turn on Queen-for-a-Moment Sarah. One could argue rather easily that those were the season's pivotal moves. Despite that, the Boston-area pilates instructor hasn't always been embraced by viewers this season, lingering behind alliance-mate Tony in discussions of likely winners. It hasn't helped that vocal fights with Lindsey and, this week, with Kass were edited as "No winners here" brawls in which both sides looked less-than-ideal. In the season's latest blindside, Trish went from powerful to snuffed after Kass and Woo...

You Take the Young, You Take the Old: The Facts of Life Cast, Then and Now
Kim Fields
Happy birthday, Kim Fields! The actress celebrated the big 4-5 on Monday, but we'll always know her as little Tootie, the pigtailed, roller-skating youngest member of the Facts of Life crew. Nearly 35 years after The Facts of Life premiered in 1979, People presents the Eastland ladies posing with their younger selves. As one of TV's most memorable theme songs goes, there's a time you got to go and show you're growin'. All illustrations by Linzi Silverman and Tiffany Hagler-Geard for People.com. Interview: Tasha Fox talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
I said as much in my recap of Wednesday's (May 7) "Survivor: Cagayan," but Tasha Fox has no doubt that if she hadn't been voted out and if she'd been allowed to make it into  Final 3 situation, she was going to win, whether she went up against Idol-finding mastermind Tony or fellow Brain Spencer. "Hand's down, I would win the million dollars regardless of who I sat next to," Tasha told me in this week's exit interview. Of course, getting to the Final 3 required getting out of last week's Tribal Council and that required counting on Kass and Woo to flip against Tony.  That didn't happen. But just because Tony seems to be in a power position from what we've seen on TV, Tasha hints that her own Jury sentiments may not be so clear. She gives a perspective that may be illustrative of what we can expect over the...

Jefra Bland in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Jefra Bland talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Jefra Bland in Survivor (2000)
And then the Beauty Tribe was gone.  Had the Beauty Tribe been functional, perhaps they could have made a go of things after the Merge. They made the Merge with four players, same as the Brawn tribe, one more than the Brain tribe. And when Sarah was blindsided post-Merge, Beauty had a plurality and theoretically could have bonded with anybody to take power.  With no particular unity, though, the Beauty tribe failed to mount any sort of strategy. First, Morgan went out without a whimper. Then L.J. was blindsided. Then Jeremiah knew he was doomed. Finally, on this week's "Survivor: Cagayan," Jefra Band became the last Beauty castaway sent packing, blindsided by Tony, who feared that a gender-based alliance might be the only thing that could halt his paranoid scurry to the million. Jefra, who previously expected elimination and then was spared after Kass flipped, faced her torch-snuffing with a smile.

Spencer Bledsoe and Jeremy Collins in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Jeremiah Wood talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Spencer Bledsoe and Jeremy Collins in Survivor (2000)
It's hard out there for a "Survivor: Cagayan" Beauty. For the third straight week, my "Survivor" exit interview is with a castaway who began the season as part of the Beauty tribe. Following in the footsteps of Morgan and Lj is Jeremiah Wood, who only revealed to his core alliance in this week's episode that he makes his living as a model.  It wasn't like there was a Beauty alliance that is being picked off. Jeremiah wasn't especially close with either Lj or Morgan. Instead, he grew tight with former Brain Spencer and if you saw the combination of down-home Southern charmer and sometimes awkward mastermind and remembered the partnership with J.T. and Stephen? You're not the only one. Of course, this budding dynamic duo was thwarted after Kass flipped and then when Tony began his reign of terror, though they had brief hope this week when Jefra, the lone remaining Beauty,...

Interview: L.J. McKanas talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Lj McKanas has been a marked man from the start of this "Survivor: Cagayan" season. As the Old Man of the Beauty tribe -- He's 34 -- Lj was selected as his tribe's leader within minutes and he wore that target on his chest for his entire time on a tribe he wouldn't have selected for himself (he self-identified as "Brawn" before the season, but showed his Brains in finding a hidden Idol). After the Tribal shuffle, Lj's "Survivor" time seemed even shorter, as it appeared that the Brawn majority in his new clan would burn through the remaining Beauty outsiders. In a shocker, though, Lj aligned with Trish and took advantage of her anti-Cliff paranoia to remain in the game.  And even after the Merge, Lj's alliance looked like it might be in jeopardy, but Kass' flip made Lj and Tony the two Alpha Males suddenly...

Interview: Morgan McLeod talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Before we knew anything else about former cheerleader  and "Survivor: Cagayan" contestant Morgan McLeod, we knew that she was comfortable with her place on the Beauty tribe and that she was prepared to use her physical attributes to get what she wanted.  Soon, though, Lj came to look at Morgan as a threat, because of a hot girl scorned and she became a target, stuck in a not-especially-successful alliance with the previously eliminated Brice. [Somehow I forgot that Lj picked Morgan for not-elimination in the very first seconds on the beach. I'd have asked about that if I remembered. Apologies!] Morgan was never shy about saying what she thought of people. She called Lj old. She called Kass old and ugly.  And it's a favor that was returned this week. Flip-flopping Kass compared Morgan to a useless old dog, while Tony said that because of Morgan's laziness, "you can't tell if she's a pillow or a person." Morgan was never the biggest threat for... anything, but the members of the Brawn-y alliance decided that nobody...

Sarah Lacina in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Sarah Lacina talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Sarah Lacina in Survivor (2000)
Sarah Lacina was pretty confident that she was safe on Wednesday (April 2) night's "Survivor: Cagaya." But Sarah was more than confident that she was staying. She was certain that she was the one deciding who would go home. In the immediate aftermath of the season's Merge, Sarah was positioned as the swing vote between two five-person alliances.  She was the queen.  She was the president. She was blindsided.  Fed up with Sarah's power and insecure about her own position with her former Brains alliance, Kass was wooed to the dark side and flipped, sending Sarah packing in a shocking Tribal Council that saw two Hidden Immunity Idols get played on castaways who received a combined total of zero votes. It was a tough moment for Sarah, an Iowa-based police officer who immediately bonded with New Jersey's Tony to form the short-lived Cops -r- Us alliance. Nothing actually came of that alliance,...

Sarah Lacina in Survivor (2000)
Recap: 'Survivor: Cagayan' - 'Head of the Snake'
Sarah Lacina in Survivor (2000)
Pre-credit sequence. When we left, Aparri had decided to keep Jeremiah over Alexis. Everybody is very taken aback by Alexis crying after her elimination, though Spencer is feeling Ok about the vote and about the cohesion of his six-person tribe. Sarah wants to have two fast targets in case there's a Merge the very next morning and the agreement seems to be that either Trish or Jefra should be the votes. They put their hands together and celebrate Final 6. For a tribe that just lost two straight challenges and that only has a one-person number advantage, there's a lot of smugness. "The best laid plans often end up sprawled out on a murder scene floor," Kass says colorfully and portentously. For some reason, Kass thinks it's good strategy to tell Sarah that she and Jeremiah are the only people she worries about, loyalty-wise. "People don't like to be called a...

Interview: Alexis Maxwell talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Like so many "Survivor" decisions, Wednesday (March 26) night's "Survivor: Cagayan" vote came down to trust. With a Merge coming, the remaining trio of Brains had to decide who they could trust not to flip.  Would they trust Sarah, who might reunite with the majority of her Brawn tribe? Would they trust Jeremiah, who may or may not have gotten a clue to an Immunity Idol and may or may not have lied about it? Or would they trust Alexis, who professed loyalty, but had two chums -- Lj and Jefra -- remaining on the other tribe? In the end, the Brains didn't really consider targeting Sarah and they opted to trust Jeremiah, even while not quite believing him, leaving Alexis blindsided and crying. Although she was placed on the Beauty tribe for the purposes of this "Survivor" season, Alexis Maxwell is a student at Northwestern, which isn't too shabby, and...

Lindsey Ogle, Sarah Lacina, and Tony Vlachos in Survivor (2000)
Interview: Lindsey Ogle discusses quitting 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Lindsey Ogle, Sarah Lacina, and Tony Vlachos in Survivor (2000)
"Survivor" isn't a show for quitters and yet many players have quit on "Survivor" over 28 seasons. Players have quit with broken bones, nasty infections, heart problems, stomach problems and whatever those two things were that caused Colton to quit. Jenna quit to be near her ailing mother. Susan quit because Richard Hatch rubbed against her. Various levels of in-game misery caused Janu, Kathy, NaOnka and Purple Kelly to quit. On Wednesday (March 26) night's "Survivor: Cagayan," Lindsey Ogle quit because of her concerns that if she continued to spend time with gloating Bostonian Trish, something bad might happen. Jeff Probst hailed this as a strange sort of "Survivor" first. As a result, the Solana tribe lost Cliff and Lindsey, which Trish and Tony hailed as a huge triumph, even if they were now way down in numbers.  Solana subsequently won two straight challenges, which as either a fluke or addition by subtraction.

Clifford Robinson
Interview: Cliff Robinson talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Clifford Robinson
On the basketball court, Cliff Robinson's statistics were quite robust. He ranks ninth in NBA history in games played and, with playoff appearances in 17 of his 18 seasons, those were often meaningful games. He was the league's Sixth Man of the Year for the 1992-1993 season, was an All-Defensive Team second teamer twice and an All-Star once. Thanks to his longevity, he ranks in the Top 50 in NBA/Aba history in scoring, ahead of Hall-of-Famers like Chris Mullin, Isiah Thomas and Scottie Pippen. Sadly, Cliff Robinson won't be remembered for his "Survivor" longevity. This week, Robinson became the fifth player voted out on "Survivor: Cagayan" and the first player booted after the season dissolved its Brains vs. Beauty vs. Brawn twist.  Cliff could have been voted out even earlier, but a basketball-themed Immunity Challenge thwarted Brawn teammate Sarah's attempts to throw the game. After leading his post-Shuffle tribe to a big Reward win,...

Survivor's J'Tia Taylor: I Would Have Voted Me Out Too
Survivor (2000)
In the 28 seasons of Survivor, there have been few contestants who have made as many missteps as J'Tia Taylor. She was bossy to her other castaways as they built a shelter. She panicked under pressure, causing her tribe to lose challenge after challenge. And, most egregiously, she dumped out the tribe's rice supply in a fit of anger. "It was not my finest moment," she admits. But Taylor, a 31-year-old nuclear engineer, was gracious in defeat. "I totally understand why they voted me out," she says. "I probably would have voted me out, too." The season started off rough for you and went downhill.

Interview: J'Tia Taylor talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
Taking an early and bossy lead on a failed Day One project is usually a decent recipe for being voted off early on "Survivor." Being viewed as the weakest player on a weak tribe is usually a decent recipe for being voted off early on "Survivor." Seemingly being on the low side of a numbers alliance is also usually a decent recipe for being voted off early on "Survivor." Going just a bit cuckoo-bananas and dumping most of your tribe's rice into the fire? Surely that's a fantastic recipe for getting voted off early on "Survivor." In retrospect, it probably isn't surprising that my exit interview with J'Tia Taylor came early in this "Survivor: Cagayan" season. The shocking thing is that J'Tia managed not to be the first or second person voted out of her Brains Tribe. In fact, the Chicago-based nuclear engineer survived one surprising vote, one genuinely shocking vote and,...

'Survivor: Cagayan's' J'Tia Taylor: The Brains tribe is all leaders, no followers
The Brains tribe is really struggling on "Survivor: Cagayan," with J'Tia Taylor as the latest casualty of their inability to win challenges. But she tells Zap2it that she understands why Kass and Tasha voted her out and kept Spencer.

Zap2it: You had quite the wild "Survivor" experience -- are you glad you went on the show?

J'Tia Taylor: Yes. I wouldn't have it any other way. This was the experience of a lifetime. To get out there, to give it your all, give it your best shot and to even just have the opportunity. You know how many people want to be there? And I actually got picked, I got cast. It's fantastic.

What did you think of the brains/beauty/brawn twist?

I thought it would be interesting, but I also thought that the brains were in trouble. It's an athletic show, so I thought...

Survivor's Brice Johnston: I Was a Social Threat
Survivor (2000)
When the Beauty tribe lost the immunity challenge on day 8 of Survivor: Cagayan, Brice Johnston knew he was likely to be voted out. Although he tried to sway two other contestants to his side, he believed that they ultimately felt too threatened to join forces with him. After splitting the vote, the other contestants voted for him in a tiebreaker, making him the third person to leave the game. The 27-year-old social worker from Philadelphia talks about surviving monsoons, smelling "funky" and why he won't remember his fellow castaways' names. Brice! You got booted off the show!I know!

Interview: Brice Johnston talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
The Beautiful People had to devour one of their own on Wednesday (March 5) night's "Survivor: Cagayan." The Beauty Tribe held a big lead in Wednesday's Immunity Challenge, but squandered it and were forced to go to Tribal Council for the first time.  As votes were tallied -- twice, since there was a three-way tie the first time -- the power was all in the hands of Jeremiah. In a six-person tribe, he had the choice between sticking with an alliance of four and booting Brice, or aligning with Brice and Morgan to eliminate Alexis. In the end, Jeremiah chose numbers and social worker Brice Johnston was eliminated, taking his purple pants with him.  The way Brice figures it, the other Beauty castaways felt threatened by him, specifically by his social game and by his effort in challenges and at camp. He left the game telling cameras that he didn't even...

Survivor: Cagayan Ratings
On the 28th season of CBS' Survivor, contestants have been divided into three tribes based on athleticism (Aparri), intelligence (Luzon), and attractiveness (Solana). Will this be a ratings winner for the network? We shall see.

Jeff Probst has returned as host. The players are David Samson, Garrett Adelstein, Jefra Bland, Spencer Bledsoe, Latasha "Tasha" Fox, Trish Hegarty, Yung "Woo" Hwang, Brice Johnston, Sarah Lacina, Alexis Maxwell, Lj McKanas, Morgan McLeod, Kassandra "Kass" McQuillen, Lindsey Ogle, Cliff Robinson, J'Tia Taylor, Tony Vlachos, and Jeremiah Wood.

The higher a show's ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. This show has already been renewed for next season already. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available -- typically around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.

'Survivor: Cagayan's' Brice Johnston: I made the Beauty tribe 'nervous'
The Beauty tribe lost its first castaway on "Survivor: Cagayan" when Brice Johnston was voted out, much to many fans' dismay. He tells Zap2it he wasn't surprised to be voted off because he knew his tribemates saw him as a threat.

Zap2it: Are you glad you went on "Survivor," even if you got eliminated so early?

Brice Johnston: Absolutely. "Survivor" to me is one of the best shows out there. If I had to be eliminated early, I couldn't have picked a better situation. They eliminated me because I was beautiful, but most importantly they knew I was a threat and a force to be reckoned with. To me, it's the biggest compliment in the world. And at least I went down fighting.

What did you think of the beauty/brains/brawn twist?

I thought it was so interesting. Being a fan of the show, I always...

Recap: 'Survivor: Cagayan' - 'Cops-r-Us'
Pre-credit sequence. The Brains Tribe returns to camp. Spencer is disheartened that his alliance-mate, Garrett, managed to make himself so unappealing that they kept Crazypants J'Tia around over him. "I'm gonna have to resort to all kinds of crazy, creative ideas," Spencer says. "There was a lot of luck, a lot of Kass," admits J'Tia, who knows her tribe is a disaster. "I have no loyalties to Spencer," Tasha warns us, as she solidifies an All-Girl Alliance. "Garrett, he's fun to look at, but you don't want to play with him," Kass explains her swing vote.  "Blue Bloods" airs Fridays at 10, also on CBS. Over at Brawn, Tony is isolating himself, but it's an isolation with an Idol. Perhaps sensing that even with the Idol, that's only a duo, Tony opens up to Sarah about his 13 years as a cop. "I can just tell," Sarah agrees, pleased that her Copdar was validated.

Survivor 28,Cagayan Eliminated Brice Johnston In Episode 2 Tonight
Survivor 28,Cagayan eliminated Brice Johnston in episode 2 tonight. Tonight's show, kicked off with conversation footage. Everyone on the Brains tribe were fully in agreement that Garrett handled the tribal counsel meeting wrong, which is why he got voted out over J Tia, who threw out all their rice. Tony finally confessed to being a cop. Meanwhile, Lj went searching for the immunity idol while a huge storm was raging. And sure enough, he found it while everyone was trying to stay sheltered away from the big storm, so he was able to keep it a secret. Next, they showed immunity challenge footage. In it, the tribes had to use relay team work to fill a container with enough water to release a ball. Then they had to use that ball to clear a vertical maze obstacle and make their flag raise up. The Brawn tribe finished first, followed by the Brains,...

Garrett Adelstein Calls Losing Survivor 'Frustrating'
Survivor (2000)
On paper, Garrett Adelstein should have won Survivor: Cagayan. A professional poker player with a high Iq, he was young and buff. But after overplaying - and neglecting to play an immunity idol - Adelstein, 27, was the second person voted off of the show. Adelstein has a lot of regrets, which he shares with People. You say you trained 2,000 hours to compete in Survivor. What did you do?(Laughs) I did everything. I spent three hours a day running, swimming, lifting weights or doing yoga. All that is physical training, but Survivor is very mental.I read all these Survivor columns online.

Survivor's David Samson: The Show Is 'As Real as It Gets'
Survivor (2000)
In every season of Survivor, someone has to be the first to go. Sometimes it's because they're weak; other times because they're abrasive. David Samson, the 45-year-old president of the Miami Marlins, was chosen as the leader of his tribe, and unceremoniously booted from Survivor: Cagayan after three days.

Samson talks to People about leadership, hunger and the contestant he calls "disgraceful."

David, what happened?

We had six brainiac leaders and no followers. We got nothing accomplished. So when they had to vote someone off, they chose the person they had selected as the leader. It was disappointing.

Were...

Interview: Garrett Adelstein talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
As I mentioned in my recap of the "Survivor: Cagayan" premiere, poker player Garrett Adelstein managed to get himself blindsided through a number of impressive, self-generated circumstances.  He pushed easy target J'Tia on a path to nutso rage at camp with his open forum strategy back at camp. He nudged Tasha to more aggressive play by trying to cut of strategizing at camp. He alienated Kass at Tribal Council by outing their semi-alliance. And, of course, he found an Immunity Idol, but left it buried at camp.  To me, I also felt like he fixated too heavily on getting David out at the first Tribal Council, a decision that left J'Tia in the game in the first place. Although Garrett came across as failing to live up to his tribe's braininess in the premiere, in his exit interview, he seemed much more articulate and introspective about his performance. One thing...

Interview: Marlins President David Samson talks 'Survivor: Cagayan'
I wanted David Samson to stick around on "Survivor: Cagayan" until May. I had Miami Marlins-based humor to scatter through my recaps for months.  Unfortunately, it was not to be. The President of the Marlins, a position he has held in good years (a 2003 World Series title) and bad (lots of those other years) since 2002, David made his first "Survivor" mistake before his tribe ever made it to camp. Put on the spot in the opening seconds of the season, the Brains tribe selected Samson as their leader and, seconds later, Samson selected six-pack-wielding poker player Garrett as the tribe's weak link. At the time, he said it was a 39 Day "Survivor" Strategy, targeting an obvious threat. In his exit interview this week, David offers other explanations.  See, David made an unfortunate enemy with that decision and after the Brains tribe went down in defeat at the first Immunity Challenge,...

Survivor Castoff David: We Were More Like the "Anti-Brains" Tribe
In the first moments of the Survivor: Cagayan premiere, Miami Marlins manager David Samson was designated the leader of the Brains tribe. An hour later, he was being blindsided at the first Tribal Council, having his torch snuffed just three days into the competition. What went wrong?

"As a person who loves to watch Survivor, learning the difference between watching and playing was a very eye-opening experience for me," Samson tells TVGuide.com. "I was very happy there were no returning players. I felt that it was very cool to have 18 new players, all discovering for themselves the difference between the couch and the island."

Check out our full interview with Samson below to get his take on the ongoing struggles of the Brains tribe (or the "anti-Brains tribe," as he puts it), the group's decision to keep J'Tia over either him or Garrett, and what he would have done differently.

'Survivor: Cagayan's' Garrett Adelstein: 'Kass loves attention,' she's a rabble-rouser
On the special two-hour premiere of "Survivor: Cagayan," the Brains tribe took two losses in the Immunity Challenge and sent David Samson (left) and then Garrett Adelstein (right) packing.

Adelstein was actually sent home with an Idol -- not in his pocket, because he was so sure he wouldn't need it that he left it at camp. But he tells Zap2it that there was no way he would've played it even if he'd had it with him because he didn't think Kass had flipped.

"Obviously, I had zero clue whatsoever," says Adelstein. "It was a mistake not to bring [the idol to Tribal]. Tribal Council, the five minutes or whatever you saw, it makes it look like I should play the idol. But Tribal was 90 minutes that day. The chances of me going home were very remote.  ...  At that point, I had every reason to think Kass was going to be voting for J'Tia.

'Survivor: Cagayan': Jeff Probst weighs in on that crazy premiere
Survivor (2000)
Each week, host Jeff Probst will answer a few questions about the latest episode of ‘Survivor: Cagayan.’

Entertainment Weekly: Jeff, you know how much I love it when people have to make decisions on the spot, decisions that could dramatically impact their standing in the game and the way others view them. You had a bunch of those decisions you threw at them right out of the gate. Tell me about that.

Jeff Probst: The creative for this season began many months ago. Originally it was more detailed and had a few more steps involved, as we got...

Recap: 'Survivor: Cagayan' Premiere - 'Hot Girl With a Grudge'
Pre-credit sequence. The division of tribes has been made by the quality the players most rely upon in life, whatever that means. The Brains Tribe has an average Iq of 130 which is, honestly, not all that impressive. I mean, they're smart, but they're not Geena Davis smart. Spencer tied for first in the World Open Chess Championship and says he's both diabolical and a genius. If you say so! David is the President of the Marlins, which means that if there's a challenge that requires salary dumping, he's going to be hard to top. Kass is a lawyer who boasts about being undefeated, which is the kind of thing John Grisham characters boast about, that and smart older secretaries who have forgotten more law than most of us will ever know. On to the Beauty Tribe, whose beauty can't be measured numerically. But Morgan was an NFL cheerleader and she's...

See how you scored predicting the 'Survivor: Cagayan' premiere
Spoilers for the season premiere of "Survivor: Cagayan" are below! Two immunity challenges! Two tribal councils! Two blindsides for the Brains tribe! What a great way to start Season 28, right? Congratulations to our site user Pandamonium for scoring the most points during our inaugural "Survivor: Cagayan" contest. (See the Top 5 above.) If Pandamonium winds up with the highest point total at the end of the season, this user will win a $100 Amazon gift certificate. Can You outwit, outplay and outlast Pandamonium's ultimate score? Pandamonium was one of the first users at Gold Derby to predict that David Samson (Brains Tribe) would be the inaugural victim of Season 28, resulting in the high score. "Survivor's" two-hour premiere also saw the end of Garrett Adelstein's (Brains Tribe) run, who I (foolishly) was predicting to win the entire thing. Just goes to show that after 28 seasons, I still don't know anything. Yes,...

'€.Survivor'€. Premiere Recap: Team Brains Members David Samson & Garret Adelstein First To Go Home
Survivor’s 28th season kicked off on Wednesday, splitting the latest group of contestants into three groups based off what they believe is their most useful quality – brawn, brains or beauty.

Survivor Recap

Once the group is divided into their tribes, host Jeff Probst instructs each of the three to elect a leader. Since they don’t know anything about their team members yet, the tribes have to choose their leader on good faith. In the end, the brawns pick police officer Sarah Lacina, the brains pick Miami Marlins president David Samson and the beauties select horse trainer Lj McKanas. The first task the leaders face is choosing whom they think is the weakest on their team.

Brains, Brawn & Beauty Pick Weakest Links

David, thinking more about who is his biggest competition rather than who is actually the weekest, picks pro poker player Garrett Adelstein. After his chopper ride to the camp,...

Survivor: Cagayan Season Premiere Shocker: Find Out Which 2 Contestants Were Sent Home From the Same Tribe
Survivor (2000)
Two episodes. Two tribal councils. Two eliminations. Survivor returned for its 28th season on Wednesday night, this time sending the 18 castaways to Cagayan, a province in the Philippines. And in a fun twist, the castaways were split into three teams: Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty. In the CBS reality hit's two-hour premiere, two castaways were already voted off the island. In a surprising twist, one tribe lost both challenges, meaning  they ended the premiere already down two members. Even more surprising? It was the Brains who found themselves at a disadvantage! The two eliminated contestants from the Brains Tribe? David Samson, the president of the Miami Marlins baseball team, and Garrett...
