Second Nature couldn’t have found its place in the world at a more opportune time. Seems standard right?? Well no not really throw in a Magic Mirror and some Freaky Friday gender-swapping and you have Second Nature.

Without jumping into spoilers though, the kicker is this… It’s not our main characters who have swapped roles like in most of these movies. It is the world around them!

Doom Patrol Showrunner Promises 'Satisfying Ending' for the DC Series
Image
Doom Patrol showrunner Jeremy Carver has promised fans that the back half of Season 4 will provide closure for the beloved ragtag team of heroes.

Speaking with TVLine, Carver revealed that they "had a strong-enough feeling going into the season that Season 4 might be our last. Our No. 1 priority was going out on our terms, with a satisfying ending and — most importantly — character arcs that felt considered, earned and unrushed." However, Carver was quick to note that "closure" was subjective and that fans may walk away with differing opinions on the finale. "Our fans should expect endings that are true," he added. "That is all we can promise."

Brendan Fraser is open to rejoining the DC Universe
Image
After Warner Bros. scrapped the Batgirl movie and cancelled Doom Patrol, you could forgive Brendan Fraser for wanting to step away from the DC Universe, but the actor doesn’t necessarily want to leave the franchise behind.

When asked about potentially returning to the DC Universe, Brendan Fraser told Variety, “Maybe. Everything’s contingent on what it’s about, the role. The job’s not easy to do, no matter who’s producing it. I just finished up with Doom Patrol, which is also a DC property. That’s a unique cast and conceit, and I loved that Riley Shanahan, an actor who wore all the gear and I would just do the voice. I could do my job in my long johns and no one would know because I was in a recording studio, so it was the best day job ever. Apart from that, I’m open to it.

Batgirl & Doom Patrol's Brendan Fraser Is Open to Returning to DC Studios
Image
Following the cancellation of Batgirl and Doom Patrol, Brendan Fraser is open to returning to DC Studios. 2022 was a massive change to the status quo for Warner Bros.'s many DC properties. After the Warner Bros. Discovery merger was completed, the studio made the controversial decision to cancel the Batgirl movie. Despite having finished principal photography, the HBO Max product was axed. On the television side, HBO Max is losing both Titans and Doom Patrol, as they will both end after their respective season 4 this year. One talent that Batgirl and Doom Patrol had in common was the involvement of Fraser.

While Fraser starred as Robotman in the Doom Patrol series, he was set to play the DC for Firefly in the Batgirl movie. As bittersweet as it was for Fraser to lose both DC gigs, the recently Academy-Award-nominated star is still open to returning to the superhero realm. In an interview with Variety,...

James Gunn comments on cancellation of Titans & Doom Patrol
Image
It was announced yesterday that HBO Max had cancelled Titans and Doom Patrol after four seasons, which prompted some fans to place the blame on James Gunn and Peter Safran. As the pair became co-chairmen and CEO’s of DC Studios late last year, you would think that they did have a hand in ending Titans and Doom Patrol, but James Gunn took to Twitter to say that the decision to end both shows actually preceded their appointments.

The decision to end the series precedes us. But I certainly wish the best for the talented group of creators, actors, and the rest of the crew that produced both shows. https://t.co/jdqDc9TqU1

‘Titans,’ ‘Doom Patrol’ Both Ending After Season 4 at HBO Max
Image
Even superheroes can’t defeat the looming threat of a series finale. “Titans” and “Doom Patrol,” two live-action series based on DC Comic book characters, will end after their respective ongoing fourth seasons, IndieWire has confirmed.

The two series have an interesting development history, beginning as original programs for DC Universe, a streaming platform focused on superhero content, launching their first seasons in 2018 (for “Titans”) and 2019 (for “Doom Patrol”). After HBO Max launched, DC Universe was rebooted as a free comics subscription service, and the shows moved to the new streamer. “Titans” premiered its fourth and now final season this November, while “Doom Patrol’s” launched in December; both seasons consists of 12 episodes split into two six-episode parts, with the final batches of episodes set to premiere at unannounced dates.

Diane Guerrero on Doom Patrol Season 4 Mid-Season Finale & Facing Mortality
Image
The lovable misfits of Doom Patrol are back with Season 4, featuring an all-new series of whacky and insane adventures. Comprising of Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), Rita Farr (April Bowlby), Vic Stone (Joivan Wade), Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer / Matthew Zuk), Cliff Steele (Brendan Fraser / Riley Shanahan), and recent addition Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez), the team has gone up against many surreal and world-ending enemies over their previous seasons. What makes this show so unique though, is the way in which it portrays the characters as deeply-flawed and traumatized people who help each other grow, evolve, and heal. It's easily one of the best superhero shows currently running and with Season 4, things have gotten better than ever.

The trailer for Season 4, which was released Tuesday, Mark Sheppard’s Willoughby Kipling warns: “Something very big and very dangerous is headed our way. Immortus is real, and it’s coming. We are wandering into the literal end of days as we speak.”

The Immortus Project appears to be a looming threat, explained only as the pursuit for immortality. It’s not clear what big bad the Doom Patrol will be facing, but it may have something to do with the DC supervillain General Immortus, who was introduced in the 1950s as an enemy of the Doom Patrol. In the trailer, the group eventually comes to the conclusion that the only way to win is to travel back in time.

Watch the entire trailer above. Season 4 will premiere on December 8 with two brand-new episodes. Each week...

Doom Patrol Season 4 Trailer Teases "Something Big" and "Dangerous"
Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, Michelle Gomez, April Bowlby, Matthew Zuk, Diane Guerrero, Joivan Wade, and Riley Shanahan in Doom Patrol (2019)
Our favorite band of heroes should get well prepared.

HBO Max dropped the official trailer for Doom Patrol Season 4 Thursday -- and we have many questions.

Willoughby Kipling tells the gang atop the trailer that something "very big and very dangerous is on its way" that will bring the world to an end.

“Immortus is real, and it’s coming. We are wandering into the literal end of days as we speak.”

Immortus is well-known to fans of the comic books, and if you're not up to speed, you should be prepared for lots of high-octane drama.

The season's theme seems to be whether the Doom Patrol gang will want to save the world or think about their own happiness.

There is a sense of dread lingering over the trailer. As a result, it wouldn't surprise us if the series was preparing for its endgame.

Many changes are going on at Warner Bros. Discovery,...

Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, Michelle Gomez, April Bowlby, Matthew Zuk, Diane Guerrero, Joivan Wade, and Riley Shanahan in Doom Patrol (2019)
Doom Patrol Season 4 will finally get underway this December, but there's a catch.

The highly anticipated new season drops Thursday, December 8, with two new episodes.

New episodes will unspool Thursdays through January 5, but fear not, more episodes are on tap for later in 2023.

Yes, six more episodes are on the way.

Streaming services have started embracing split seasons and they will probably grow even more popular.

According to HBO Max’s official description, “Season 4 opens with the team unexpectedly traveling to the future to find an unwelcome surprise."

"Faced with their imminent demise, the Doom Patrol must decide once and for all which is more important: their own happiness or the fate of the world?”

Doom Patrol Season 4 stars Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele (aka Robotman), Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor (aka Negative Man), Diane Guerrero as “Crazy Jane,” April Bowlby as Rita Farr (aka Elasti-Woman), and Joivan Wade as...

HBO Max Renews Doom Patrol for Season 4!
Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, Michelle Gomez, April Bowlby, Matthew Zuk, Diane Guerrero, Joivan Wade, and Riley Shanahan in Doom Patrol (2019)
Our favorite team of superhero rejects is going to be back for another mind-blowing season of adventures!

Just past the halfway point in a completely bonkers Season 3 that has involved time travel, were-butts (you heard me), Dead Boy Detectives, and a trip to the Afterlife, HBO Max has renewed Doom Patrol Season 3 for a fourth season.

From villains with no body (see what I did there?) to monsters that lurk in the minds of children to time-traveling amnesiacs, and, yes, including recurring appearances by zombie were-butts (!), how will Season 4 up the ante?

"Doom Patrol reimagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of superheroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele (Brendan Fraser/Riley Shanahan), Negative Man aka Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer/Matthew Zuk), Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) and Cyborg aka Victor Stone (Joivan Wade).

‘The Batman,’ ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Previews Part of Massive DC Fandome Schedule
Image
Speed and star-power: Those are the two clear goals for the DC Fandome virtual event on Aug. 22, which released its full schedule Friday.

Over 100 hours of content stretching across the film, TV and comic book properties from DC Entertainment will unfold over a 24-hour period on the Saturday event, including panels featuring the filmmakers and casts of “The Batman,” “Wonder Woman 1984,” “The Suicide Squad” and the Snyder Cut of “Justice League,” and the casts of TV series including “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Batwoman,” “Black Lightning” and “The Flash.”

Most of those panels, however, will run just 15 to 30 minutes in length. The panel for the upcoming feature film version of “The Flash,” with filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti, star Ezra Miller, and screenwriter Christina Hodson, will clock in at a speedy 10 minutes. (The briefness of that panel could also be due to unresolved questions surrounding a video of Miller appearing...

Doom Patrol Season 2 Episode 1 Review: Fun-Size Patrol
Image
This Doom Patrol review contains spoilers.

Doom Patrol Season 2 Episode 1

The first season of Doom Patrol was the kind of outing that shouldn’t have worked. The band of misfit heroes (who could swear) felt like a premise that would wear thin – as did the novelty of Alan Tudyk as a narrating super villain, and a talking cockroach with apocalypse on his mind. Yet, the show successfully managed a balance of oddball concepts, violence, humor and strong development of characters struggling with serious trauma. Now, with the second season premiere, “Fun-Size Patrol,” the show returns with solid footing that manages to be heartbreaking, and hilarious. And yes, there is still a lot of swearing.

Picking up a short time after the events of the first season finale – where Tudyk’s villain Mr. Nobody was thwarted, a giant cockroach and rat made out, and The Chief (Timothy Dalton) was revealed to...

Jeremy Carver at an event for Supernatural (2005)
Doom Patrol Season 2 and the Start of Something Big
Jeremy Carver at an event for Supernatural (2005)
Jeremy Carver has big things planned for Doom Patrol season 2. Literally.

The first season of the DC Universe series about super powered, and always bickering, misfits ended with most of the team shrunk to action-figure size. With the sophomore outing of the series debuting June 25, executive producer and showrunner Carver thinks it’s time for the characters to grow: physically and emotionally.

Along with waging war against near-omnipotent villain Mr. Nobody, as well as an apocalyptic cockroach, the team of outsider superheroes fought their internal demons, and one another, in a season that was comedic, surprisingly poignant, and delightfully bizarre.

Bizarre is part of the Doom Patrol DNA. Based on the DC comic created in 1963 by writers Arnold Drake, and Bob Haney, and artist Bruno Premiani, the book about Robotman, Negative Man, and Elasti-Girl took an even more eccentric direction when writer Grant Morrison took over in 1989. Morrison’s run...

"Doom Patrol" Season Two
The episode "Fun Size Patrol" streaming June 25, 2020 on 'DC Universe' and 'HBO Max' kicks off Season Two of the live TV action series "Doom Patrol", based on the DC Comics title, showcasing the crime-fighting superhero misfits 'Jane' (Diane Guerrero), 'Rita Farr' (April Bowlby), 'Vic Stone' (Joivan Wade), 'Larry Trainor' (Matt Bomer/Matthew Zuk), 'Cliff Steele' (Brendan Fraser/Riley Shanahan) and 'The 'Chief' (Timothy Dalton):

"...following the defeat of 'Mr. Nobody', the members of the 'Doom Patrol' now find themselves mini-sized and stranded on a toy race car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal by 'Niles Caulder' aka 'The Chief' (Dalton), while confronting their own personal baggage.

"And as each member faces the challenge of growing beyond their own past traumatic experiences, they must come together to embrace and protect the newest member of the family: 'Dorothy Spinner' (Abigail Shapiro), Niles’ daughter,...

Doom Patrol Brings Cockroaches, Donkeys, and Chaos to TV
Alec Bojalad Feb 20, 2019

The cast of DC Universe's Doom Patrol talks the Grant Morrison-iverse, chaotic order, and yes...that talking cockroach.

The following contains light spoilers for the pilot of Doom Patrol, which is available to stream on DC Universe now.

When describing to friends what makes his new superhero series unique, Doom Patrol star Alan Tudyk knows the moment they’ll blink themselves out of polite half-attention, lean forward and say “wait…what?”

“When I mention the donkey that farts sky writing it stops them,” he says.

Yes, as the weird-seekers among you may know by now, DC Universe’s Doom Patrol’s pilot concludes with the donkey familiar of Tudyk’s villainous Mr. Nobody farting and releasing gas into the sky that spells out “The mind is the limit.” There’s a born-again Evangelical talking cockroach thrown in there for good measure too.

Television is a...

Doom Patrol Episode 1 Review: Pilot
Aaron Sagers Feb 15, 2019

The first episode of Doom Patrol is a fun introduction to the world's strangest heroes.

This Doom Patrol review contains spoilers.

Doom Patrol Episode 1

Superheroes are weird. Set aside the DC holy trinity, and you still have a guy whose cosmic jewelry doesn’t work on anything yellow, another who talks to fish, and a Martian. And I love it. Yet, despite the acceptable level of weirdness we have learned to embrace from the movie A-listers of Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, and now Aquaman -- and the TV headliners of The Flash and Green Arrow -- there is still The Doom Patrol. And this crew so weird they are in a League of their own.

Which is what brings us to DC Universe’s new show, a fun celebration of the super-weird that almost feels like a capes-and-tights tale via Ryan Murphy. Let’s call it American Super Story.

Doom Patrol Review and Extended Trailer: These Characters Can't Miss
The meaning of superhero takes on a new definition as Doom Patrol gets underway.

It features an unlikely group of individuals all brought together by the scientific genius of The Chief.

As DC Universe calls it, they're part support group, part Superhero team, and they're brought together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence – and to protect the earth from what they find.

Of course, they don't know that from the onset, and their origins can be heartbreaking. What appears to set this heroic group apart from the others currently on television is their sense of loss and need to band together as a family.

Doom Patrol Gets February Premiere Date

Once again, a well-known if untapped comic series serves as the foundation for an unexpected family drama with a helluva lot of exciting action and bursts of irresistible humor.

The cast stars Jovian Wade as Victor (Stone/Cyborg), Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane,...
