The Exorcism's Adam Goldberg On Playing An "A--hole" Faux Director & Russell Crowe Picking Him For Horror Movie
Image
Adam Goldberg returns to the horror genre in The Exorcism as a stern director with something darker gripping his lead actor. Co-starring with Russell Crowe, Goldberg praises the film's attention to detail and his ability to tap into the worst side of himself. Crowe specifically requested Goldberg for the role, showcasing their strong on-screen chemistry and admiration for each other's work.

Adam Goldberg is back in the director's chair in a different fashion with The Exorcism. After finding early success with a major role in Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused, Goldberg has since made a name for himself both in front of and behind the camera in a number of iconic projects, including the Oscar-winning Saving Private Ryan and A Beautiful Mind, as well as co-writing and directing I Love Your Work and No Way Jose. More recently, Goldberg has been a series regular on the Queen Latifah-led The Equalizer,...

The Exorcism's David Hyde Pierce On Complicated Priest Character & Joy Of Working With Russell Crowe
Image
David Hyde Pierce stars in The Exorcism, his return to film after 14 years, delivering a subversive portrayal of a Catholic priest. Pierce discusses his character's unique portrayal and dynamic with Russell Crowe in the horror movie. Despite the horror movie theme, Pierce didn't experience on-set hauntings, but acknowledges how working in the genre can be chilling.

David Hyde Pierce returns to the big screen for the first time in nearly 15 years with The Exorcism. Having first made a name for himself in the world of theater, Pierce would find his breakout role on the screen with his role of Dr. Niles Crane in Frasier, for which he won four Primetime Emmy Awards for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. In the years since, Pierce has expanded his talents to a variety of genres in both film and television, including the cult classic comedy franchise Wet Hot American Summer, a recurring...

The Exorcism's Ryan Simpkins Talks Love Of Horror, Friendship With Russell Crowe & Relatable Character
Image
Ryan Simpkins continues their reign in the horror genre with The Exorcism as Lee Miller, tackling a unique and meta twist to the subgenre. Simpkins prepared for the role by rewatching The Exorcist and drawing inspiration from Ellen Burstyn's performance. Simpkins had a natural rapport with Russell Crowe on set, highlighting his loyalty and giving nature as an actor.

Ryan Simpkins makes their return to the horror genre with The Exorcism. Sibling to the Jurassic World and Insidious franchise star Ty Simpkins, Ryan first broke out on the big screen with the crime thriller Pride and Glory and the period drama Revolutionary Road. They've since steadily built a name for themselves in the horror genre akin to their brother, including Francis Ford Coppola's Twixt, 2015's Anguish, and Netflix's Fear Street Part Two: 1978.

In The Exorcism, Simpkins stars as Lee Miller, the daughter of struggling actor Anthony who...

The Exorcism Writers & Directors Talk Subverting Genre Tropes With Russell Crowe Horror Movie
Image
Joshua J Miller and M.A. Fortin bring a subversive approach to horror with The Exorcism, exploring addiction and trauma. Russell Crowe leads the cast of the horror movie, though Ryan Simpkins and Chloe Bailey's characters highlight the expectation-subverting approach to the subgenre. Miller and Fortin didn't intend to cast Crowe right after his Pope's Exorcist success, though think the two movies can "have a conversation" with one another.

Joshua J Miller and M.A. Fortin return to their horror movie roots with The Exorcism. The creative partners, and real-life couple, first broke out on the scene together with the 2015 meta horror comedy The Final Girls, which not only saw largely positive reviews, but also has amassed a strong cult following in the years since its release. The duo would later go on to co-develop and executive produce the crime thriller series Queen of the South, an English-language adaptation of...

‘The Exorcism’, Starring Russel Crowe, Reveals First Official Trailer, Releases This Summer
Image
Remember how Liam Neeson, at one point in his career, decided he would play only action heroes and how most of his recent characters were basically Bryan Mills from Taken in a different context? Well, it seems that another acting legend has chosen the same path, as Oscar-winner Russell Crowe is once again going to play an exorcist in the upcoming movie The Exorcism, which is set to be released on June 7, 2024. Now, the first official trailer for the movie has been released and we are going to show it to you below.

Now, our introduction was – in case you do not know – like this because Russel Crowe starred as an exorcist in the 2023 movie The Pope’s Exorcist, which – believe it or not – has absolutely no connection to The Exorcism. It seems that Crowe liked the previous role so he decided to reprise it but in a completely unrelated movie.
