It's going to be a heck of a summer for DC fans. The new cinematic Dcu begins on the big screen with James Gunn's Superman. The marketing and merchandise blitz has already begun with companies debuting their version of the latest Man of Steel. This includes McFarlane Toys with their coveted DC Multiverse collection. However, McFarlane hasn't forgotten about these characters' comic book roots as the popular toy company has just unveiled their latest DC Multiverse wave.

Their new comic DC Multiverse seven-inch-scale Gold Label figure set is headlined by Batman. However, this isn't any old Dark Knight as this edition of the hero is based on his Justice Lords design. The alternate-reality villainous Caped Crusader is seen in an all-black costume, different than his '80s and '90s film appearances, with a silver utility belt and Bat-symbol making the figure pop. When Zack Snyder made Man of Steel with Henry Cavill, there were no plans of building a Dceu. However, DC executives were eager to catch up with Marvel, who were thriving with their superhero franchise. In their misguided vision for a DC franchise, the studio tried many things unsuccessfully before opting for a complete restructuring under James Gunn.

The Dceu already underwent several course corrections before the restructuring, resulting in a bunch of canceled or abandoned projects. After the new regime took over control, all planned films in the former Dceu were effectively canceled.

The CW is losing another show. “Stargirl,” the channel’s teen superhero drama, will conclude with its ongoing third season, IndieWire has confirmed.

The show, which airs on Wednesdays, premiered its third season in August. The final episode will now premiere on December 7.

The news comes shortly after The CW was acquired by station group Nexstar, in a deal that has been accompanied by several cancellations and endings for many of the network’s series. In May, ahead of the official deal, the channel canceled over half of its scripted programming lineup. Nexstar officially took control in October, with plans to retool the famously unprofitable channel to focus on acquired programming and cheaper original series. The change was accompanied by CEO Mark Pedowitz stepping down from his post after more than a decade at the channel.

“Stargirl” will come to an end at The CW with Season 3, Variety has confirmed.

The DC series is currently airing its third season, with the finale set to air on Dec. 7. This is the latest CW scripted series to announce it will come to an end following Nexstar’s completion of its acquisition of The CW in October. It was most recently announced that “Nancy Drew” would end with its fourth season, with both “The Flash” and “Riverdale” also coming to an end. The CW also canceled many of its scripted originals back in May.

“Stargirl has always held a special place in my heart for many reasons,” said series creator and executive producer Geoff Johns. “With all the brewing changes at the network, we were aware this was possibly the last season, so we wrote with that in mind and have delivered what I believe to be the best season of Stargirl yet,...

DC’s Stargirl is coming to an end. The series will conclude with its third season, which is currently airing on The CW.

New episodes will continue to air on Wednesdays through December 7.

The series, created by Geoff Johns, stars Brec Bassinger as high school student Courtney Whitmore, the character that started Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, inspired by his sister who was killed in a 1996 plane crash.

The Stargirl season 2 premiere poses a big question: How does a teen hero come to terms with life as a normal teenager after putting on the suit? Courtney (Brec Bassinger) is dealing with just that as we join her back in Blue Valley, Nebraska.

While we begin the episode with a spooky flashback which seems to show the death of Doctor Mid-Nite’s daughter decades before at the hands of Eclipso, things in Blue Valley in 2021 are eerily quiet. And not in a spooky cool kind of way, but in a… there’s no need for a teenage iteration of the Justice Society of America kind of way. That doesn’t mean Court isn’t trying her best, though. Courtney Whitmore will be meeting many new faces on Stargirl Season 2!

The CW has dropped the official trailer for the forthcoming season, which will bring some new heroes and villains into the fold.

Of the heroes, we have Green Lantern's daughter, Jade, so that will undoubtedly change the show's dynamic.

Ysa Penarejo is set in that role.

Additional new faces include Nick Tarabay (Arrow) as Eclipso, Jonathan Cake (The Affair) as Injustice Society alum The Shade, and The Flash‘s John Wesley Shipp, who will appear as Golden Age speedster Jay Garrick.

It's an action-packed trailer, one that shows off some of the big changes headed our way.

While Stargirl Season 1 was shared between DC Universe and The CW, the series is now a CW exclusive, meaning that you'll have to watch the show on the network when it launches on August 10, 2021.
