Kyla Pratt To Join Fox’s ‘Animal Control’ Season 4 as Recurring Guest Star
Image
Kyla Pratt will join the cast of Fox’s “Animal Control” as a recurring guest star in the sitcom’s upcoming fourth season. Pratt will play the role of Daisy, a new member of the Seattle Animal Control squad who serves as Templeton Dudge’s (Gerry Dee) partner.

Pratt’s Daisy is set to appear in eight episodes of the upcoming season, including the season premiere, which is expected later this year on Fox.

Fox described Pratt’s “Animal Control” character as “exuberant and fearless” and “a confident single mom with a healthy appreciation for conspiracy theories,” suggesting a mix of eccentricity and wholesomeness that will likely fit right in with the show’s already-wacky character cast.

“Animal Control” stars Joel McHale as part of a group of local Animal Control workers “whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.” The show also stars Michael Rowland,...

Joel McHale Brings the Latest Non-Update Update on the ‘Community’ Movie
Image
Animal Control’s opening-credits cast started their panel at the Atx TV Festival today by running through the aisles of seated attendees cheering and high-fiving. They have good reason to be in a celebratory mood: As several of them said during the course of their conversation (moderated by TV Guide magazine’s Damian Holbrook), no one starring on a sitcom these days counts on getting to a second season, never mind the fourth they’ll all start shooting in a few months. And for them all to get to work together on what they told us was a friendly, welcoming, supportive set — a set that they claim doesn’t even smell too bad, considering all the animal actors who visit as guest stars! — sounds like a real gift.

The moderated portion of the conversation took us through the moment New Zealander Grace Palmer (who plays Victoria) found out which nation...

Animal Control: Season Four; Joel McHale Sitcom Renewed on Fox
Frank will be back on the job for the 2025-26 TV season. Fox has renewed Animal Control for a fourth year. The sitcom's third season of 10 episodes finished airing in March.

A single-camera workplace comedy series, the Animal Control TV show stars Joel McHale, Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, and Grace Palmer. In the story, Frank Shaw (McHale) is an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals, while humans are more of a mystery. Frank’s partner, Fred “Shred” Taylor (Rowland), is an optimistic rookie. They both report to Emily Price (Lovell), their sweet-natured and endearingly awkward boss. Amit Patel (Patel) and Victoria Sands (Palmer) are...

“Animal Control” Renewal
“Animal Control", the single-camera live-action comedy TV series, created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling, starring Joel McHale, Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, Grace Palmer and Gerry Dee, has been renewed for Season 4 streaming on Fox:

“…’Animal Control’ follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.

“‘Frank’ is an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room.

“A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he's so cynical and curmudgeonly. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. Humans...not so much…”

Fox is bringing back both Animal Control and Going Dutch for the 2025-2026 primetime season. The network confirmed they’ve renewed Animal Control starring Joel McHale for season four, and Going Dutch with Denis Leary will return for season two.

“Animal Control and Going Dutch are proven winners thanks to signature Fox characters brought to life by Joel and Denis — two of the funniest comedic voices on TV today, giving us an ideal foundation for building our new comedy block,” stated Michael Thorn, President, Fox Television Network. “With a focus on creating irreverent, fun workplace humor that’s both outrageous and unpredictable, Joel, Denis, their castmates, and production teams deliver reliably laugh-out-loud moments week after week that will keep fans coming back season after season.”

After Canceling 1 New Drama Series, Fox Renews 2 Popular Comedy Shows
Image
Two shows have been guaranteed to continue on Fox while another wasn't so lucky. Unfortunately for the latter, it's going to be a one-season run.

Per Deadline, Rescue Hi-Surf has been canceled after one season. The show, which follows Hawaiian lifeguards, wrapped up its first season on March 31. As the show was not a breakout success on the level of Doc, which was renewed for a 22-episode second season, the decision was made not to move forward with a second season.

It's an unfortunate update for fans of the show, especially as it debuted strong with a premiere that pulled in 4.7 million Live+Same Day viewers. According to the new report, there had still been consideration to renew the series, in part due to the involvement of producer John Wells. The producer's previous work includes titles like ER, The West Wing, and The Pitt. However, the series was also expensive...

'Animal Control' Has Its Fate Decided After Season 3
Image
Seattle's favorite Animal Control office won't be shutting down just yet. As expected, Fox has picked up its flagship live-action workplace comedy series starring Joel McHale for a fourth season, meaning more animal-based antics are to be had with Frank Shaw and his rag-tag team of fellow officers. The series has continued to be a hit both critically and in terms of ratings for the network, being sold to over 70 international territories and more than doubling its live + same-day ratings thanks to streaming on Hulu. It'll be back in time for the 2025-26 season, locking up Fox's comedy slate with the also-renewed Going Dutch.

Through three seasons, Animal Control has followed the jaded and cynical Frank (McHale) as he learns to embrace life as an animal control officer after being fired from the police force for trying to expose corruption in the department. Fortunately, he is almost supernaturally capable of understanding animals.

Fox is keeping the live-action comedy lights on for 2025-26.

‘Animal Control’ & ‘Going Dutch’ Renewed At Fox

Fox is sticking with laughs. The network has renewed its two live-action comedy series Animal Control and Going Dutch.

Animal Control, which stars Joel McHale, is returning for a fourth season, while Going Dutch starring Denis Leary returns for its second. Both single-camera shows, which are owned by Fox, will return in the 2025-26 season.

The renewal of Animal Control is not a surprise; the show remains Fox’s live-action comedy flagship and was the network’s first fully owned live-action series to break out. In addition, it has sold the show in more 70 international territories including in the UK to Channel 4, in Australia to Foxtel and Binge, in Canada to CBC and in New Zealand to Tvnz.

4 Fox shows I need to see renewed by May 2025
Image
As we close in on the end of another regular TV season, it means final decisions will be made. There are still a number of Fox shows on the bubble, and some I need to see make it through another season. Some of these are likely going to make it, while others are very much at the bottom in terms of linear ratings and their futures are on the line.

This is a mixture of drama, comedy, and reality TV. You won’t see me write about everything regularly because I like to keep some shows as ones that I watch for entertainment, but just because I don’t write about them doesn’t mean I don’t like them.

Extracted

When it comes to reality TV, I don’t tend to watch a lot. However, Extracted immediately caught my attention. It is one of those shows that I chat...

‘The Life List’ Review: Sofia Carson’s Rote Romantic Drama for Netflix Inspires Jeers, Not Cheers
Image
With smarter streamlining, “The Life List” could’ve been impactful. As is, the two-hour-plus Netflix original suffers by attempting to blend two predictable storylines into one: a reductive romantic search for The One crammed in alongside a drama about a directionless woman encouraged by her dead mother to rediscover her joie de vivre in order to claim her inheritance. Not only does its narrative momentum stall all too frequently, but our heroine’s completion quests lack the basics to deliver rousing feelings. Worse still, it’s frustratingly more concerned with telling us how she’s financially able to afford having a delayed quarter-life identity crisis in New York City than it is with giving her journey toward enlightenment any genuine, satiating sense of internal transformation.

Droll Alex (Sofia Carson) is stuck in her life, only she doesn’t realize it. She bides her free time in an unglamourous city loft apartment with her longterm,...
