Andrzej Sapkowski is the talented author behind the internationally popular Witcher saga that has spanned multiple mediums, including the Netflix live-action series, animated films, video games, comics, and more. But it was Sapkowski's original book series that introduced the world to monster hunter Geralt of Rivia.
Geralt is known for his dry wit, and it clearly stems from the author's personality in real life. Sapkowski has cultivated a reputation for being a little grumpy during interviews, often speaking bluntly with no filter, going so far as to roast the adaptations of his story and publicly drag everyone from game developer CD Projekt Red (Cdpr) to fellow fantasy author George R.R. Martin. One thing about Sapkowski, he is not afraid to share his unvarnished opinions.

Saturday vibes hit just right when you’re settling into weekend puzzle mode. I dove into today’s New York Times Games expecting a “chill” session, but ended up on a wild ride through summer vocabulary I forgot I knew and celebrity names that led me straight to Tmnt territory.
Strands delivered exactly what it promised with summer heat descriptions, though I realized my vocabulary leans way more toward “I’m literally melting in my chair right now” than the sophisticated weather terms this puzzle demanded. Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know until a puzzle exposes those gaps.
Connections threw me the kind of curveball that makes you question your own brain. One minute I’m connecting Brad to Pitt and Leo to DiCaprio, and the next minute I’m transported back to my childhood cartoon obsessions.

I have to say here that Superstar might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I still think that you ought to give it a chance in order to witness the makers’ take on the real life story of Tamara. The series makes use of a lot of metaphysical elements to convey what it wants to say, and I won’t deny that at times it becomes a little too much to keep track of the events and understand what the makers were trying to communicate. So let’s try to understand the essence of every episode and what the makers wanted to say about the journey of the famous pop star, Tamara, who later changed her name and came to be known as Yurena.
Spoiler Alert
What Kind Of Relationship Did Tamara Share With Her Mother?
Tamara, who was born in Barakaldo as Maria del Mar Cuena Seisdedos,...

The ending of Superstar hinged on a confrontation between the two personas of the titular character, Yurena and Marimar. What preceded that is a bit hard to describe because of the miniseries’ unhinged and anthological nature, as it focused on all the people who influenced and were influenced by Maria del Mar Cuena Seisedos. Through the perspectives of Margarita, Leonardo Dantes, Loly Alvarez, Arlekin, Paco Porras, and Tony Genil, we more or less got the bullet points of her highs and lows: how she got her big break, her falling out with her lyricist, the sex tape with Arlekin, and her elimination from the TV show Survivor. Most of it, despite seeming extremely preposterous, was surprisingly factually correct. That said, a significant chunk of the show was probably fictional (very fictional) in nature, as it tried to evoke the feeling of living such a chaotic life instead of just giving it to you straight.

Initially, biopics were probably made with the intention of shedding light on the story of an unsung hero whose contribution to some profession or other has gone unnoticed. Or they were made in order to celebrate a well-known figure and educate younger generations about who they should be indebted to when they do the most ordinary stuff in life. But somewhere along the line, this genre turned into a hub for either propaganda, whitewashing, or defamation. This also led to a decline in the filmmaking and storytelling departments as artists took the blandest approaches to tell a tale “inspired” by real life so that these movies and TV could influence even the most smooth-brained individuals out there. Thankfully, there are outliers where the subject matter has been shown in a way that doesn’t seem like a blatant glorification of their exploits. I am talking about Amar Singh Chamkila, Baby Reindeer,...

The original and - we're going to assume that most fans would be in agreement - best live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is returning to the big screen for a limited run next month to mark its 35th anniversary, and Fathom Entertainment has now released a new trailer.
The teaser mainly focuses on what is regarded as one of the best scenes in the 1990 movie, as Splinter appears as an apparition to depart some wisdom to his wayward sons following a recent defeat as the hands of the Shredder and his Foot Clan.
This re-release will feature never-before-seen footage, along with a new intro from director Steve Barron. The Turtles Unmasked featurette that screens before the movie will also include, extended scenes, new behind-the-scenes footage, and commentary with Barron.
“I can't say enough about how gifted and talented Steve Barron the director was," co-creator Kevin Eastman tells IGN. "They...

The Martin Scorsese Film Featuring De Niro, DiCaprio & Brad Pitt That Few Fans Know About (Photo Credit – Wikipedia)
Many film enthusiasts believe that the 2023 epic crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon was the first film directed by Martin Scorsese to feature both Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio together. But surprisingly, that’s not the case.

Martin Scorsese had already worked separately with each of these Hollywood legends, directing Robert De Niro in iconic films like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Cape Fear, and collaborating with Leonardo DiCaprio for acclaimed hits such as The Aviator, The Departed, and Shutter Island. But a lesser-known Martin Scorsese film, which brought both actors together on screen,...

Fathom Events has debuted a second trailer for the 35th Anniversary of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, playing in theaters for a few days in August. One of the best! This Turtles celebration features never before seen footage with an intro from director Steve Barron. In the Turtles Unmasked featurette before the movie, produced in collaboration with the creators of Tmnt: Evolution, Mutation & Reboot, experience never-before-seen footage from the archives, extended scenes left to history on the cutting room floor, behind-the-scenes footage, commentary with Barron as he reflects on the day-to-day in crafting the absolute best version...

There’s a new leader in the Global Sub Top 50. MrBeast has dropped from the top spot down to #5, and the creator I once described as Argentina’s answer to MrBeast is sitting pretty.
Alejo Igoa is part of a new generation of creators who use Beast-approved editing tactics to captivate viewers across the globe. That approach brought in 7.7 million new subscribers during the first week of July, giving Argentina its only representative in the Global Sub Top 50.
Meanwhile, Argentina’s eternal football rival Brazil is also represented in the ranking, but those channels are not quite as MrBeast-coded.
