Official Trailer for 'Hostile Dimensions' Multiverse Horror Thriller Film
Image
"Every time we open the door, it just leads to some other place." Dark Sky Films has revealed a full official trailer for an indie horror thriller feature titled Hostile Dimensions, made by director Graham Hughes. It's now set for release in August, after first premiering at FrightFest in the UK and Beyond Fest last year. When a graffiti artist seemingly "vanishes", two documentary filmmakers end up traveling through alternate dimensions, facing their worst nightmares to uncover the truth of where they went. This is yet another mix of horror and multiverse storytelling, similar to the other indie sci-fi horror Doors film. These dimensions mix the ordinary with the bizarre - whales floating across the skies, strange creatures, and so much more. Hughes describes it as a "tribute to highly imaginative low-budget films combining found footage with epic sci-fi to create something unique and thrilling." Starring Graham Hughes, Stephen Beavis,...

Frightfest 2023: ‘Hostile Dimensions’ Review
Image
Stars: Annabel Logan, Joma West, Josie Rogers, Graham Hughes, Stephen Beavis, Cedric Gall, Paddy Kondracki | Written and Directed by Graham Hughes

Just when I start to think the “Found Footage” genre has been completely played out, along comes Hostile Dimensions, a low-budget indie horror sci-fi that on paper plays on a whole bunch of my favourite plot devices. The main one is inter-dimensional travel. I mean what could possibly go wrong with a low-budget indie horror dealing with parallel universes by way of those doors from Monsters Inc? Right. Right..?

Sam and Ash are a pair of documentary filmmakers looking for their next project. Their previous movie was a bit of a bust so best move quickly. After having found a video of a graffiti artist mysteriously disappearing through a free-standing door online. Sam gets to work on convincing Ash, this is their next big story.

Ash does a little...

Intriguing Multiverse Sci-Fi Horror Project 'Hostile Dimensions' Trailer
Image
"You've got this in your flat right now?" Now what do we have here? There's a new indie horror sci-fi film from the UK premiering at FrightFest in London later this month called Hostile Dimensions and it seems like it's worth a watch. This is yet another mix of horror and multiverse storytelling, similar to the other indie sci-fi horror Doors film from last year. In Hostile Dimensions: two documentary filmmakers traverse alternate dimensions, confronting nightmares to uncover the truth behind a graffiti artist's disappearance who seems to have vanished right into thin air. These dimensions mix the ordinary with the bizarre - whales floating across the skies throw a hilly idyll off kilter. Graham Hughes describes his forth feature as a "tribute to highly imaginative low-budget films combining found footage with epic sci-fi to create something unique and thrilling." Starring Graham Hughes, Stephen Beavis, Annabel Logan, and Andy Stewart.

‘Death of a Vlogger’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Graham Hughes, Annabel Logan, Paddy Kondracki, Joma West, Stephen Beavis, Patrick O’Brien, Josie Rogers | Written and Directed by Graham Hughes

[Note: With the film out now, here’s a reposting of our review of the excellent Death of a Vlogger from it’s screening at last years Frightfest]

Death of a Vlogger tells the story of Graham, an ambitious vlogger who gains viral fame after one of his videos apparently contains an alleged out-of-this-world haunting. Following that experience Graham succumbs to the darker supernatural side of the web and deals with the effects of being famous on the internet.

I’ve long-documented my dislike for found footage films. I often think that the use of the format is a shortcut to create horror – in particular jump scares, cut corners in terms of filming quality and, with that, storytelling. However… Death of a Vlogger does something completely different with the format, bringing in the facets and tropes of vlogging, YouTube videos and live-streaming to create a truly modern, cutting edge take on a film format that has,...
