Updated July 14 with trailer: Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for Butterfly, its upcoming spy-thriller series starring Daniel Dae Kim as a spy on the run.
Kim is being hunted by Piper Perabo’s Juno, CEO of a sinister spy organization, who will stop at nothing to kill Kim’s David Jung, a highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea. Turns out the young agent assigned to carry out the killing is Rebecca, Jung’s daughter, who believed her father had died years before. The two together then attempt to take down Perabo’s Juno. “We have to bring her down,” Jung tells Rebecca.
“When you disappeared, I stayed awake every night waiting for you to come home,” Rebecca tells her dad. “It’d be pretty sh*tty if you died again,” she tells him. “Don’t worry, Jung assures her. “I’m not that easy to kill.

The body-swapping genre is getting a fresh and energetic twist with Greg Jardin's It's What's Inside. The sci-fi horror-comedy serves as Jardin's feature directorial debut, with the filmmaker having previously made a name for himself as a director both in shorts and in music videos. Some of Jardin's more notable previous productions include the teaser promos for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why seasons 2 and 3, When They See Us and Colin in Black & White: The Path is Power, as well as the short film teaser Cowboy Bebop: The Lost Session for the streamer's live-action adaptation.

A group of college friends' reunion party becomes a more surreal adventure when one person finds a mind-bending device in It's What's Inside. The group is composed of Shelby, Cyrus, Reuben, Dennis, Nikki, Brooke and Maya, who come back together at Reuben's family home to celebrate his upcoming nuptials. Initially planning a night of relaxation and nostalgic reflections on their friendship, the arrival of their estranged group member, Forbes, brings with it a machine that allows them all to swap bodies, which subsequently becomes a dangerous game that leads to long-hidden secrets and biases.
Forbes is brought to life in It's What's Inside by David W. Thompson, who first found success starring in Macon Blair's Blue Ruin before going on to star in everything from Gotham as Scarecrow to fellow Netflix title, Fear Street Part One: 1994. The following contains spoilers for It's What's Inside, now streaming on Netflix.
It's What's Inside has a little something for everyone. The Netflix film is one part psychological thriller, one part dark comedy and one part romantic drama. Things get messy -- romantically and fatally. There's a cryptic "peanut butter incident" in the last act of the film that serves as the catalyst for one of the most bizarre movie endings of all time. All in all, It's What's Inside is weird fun. But it was also weird to film.
The movie mainly takes place in one night, apart from the beginning and ending, when eight friends from college meet up for a wedding. They spend the night playing a game using a new machine that swaps the bodies of its players, and the events spiral beyond the rules of the game. Half of the cast -- Alycia Debnam-Carey (who...

It’s a special occurrence when a film can pull off something entirely original. We’ve seen so many iterations of so many different stories, that sometimes watching movies can feel a bit like playing the same mad libs-style game over and over. Thankfully people like Greg Jardin exist who can bring something new to the table. Using science as the crux for the swapping of bodies, the story for It’s What’s Inside is able to focus on identity and the complex nature of relationships. And it does so brilliantly. This is easily one of my favorite horror films of the year (Bumbray saw it earlier this year and loved it too) and you’re going to want to check it out when it comes to Netflix.

Writer-Director Greg Jardin takes the familiar thrills of body swap movies and runs riot in his maddeningly exhilarating debut, “It’s What’s Inside.” Released on Netflix, the film’s abundant number of successful attempts at threading the needle of executing genre tropes culminate in a stylishly smart outing. With slick camerawork, smoothly sharp cuts, and a young cast embracing the opportunity to go bonkers, Jardin has all his cylinders firing simultaneously and seamlessly. The result is a wild ride, a psychological thriller here to swoon the horror aficionados (and others) this Halloween season.

The real testament to a strong relationship is the ability to honestly communicate thoughts and feelings without the fear of retaliation. This complicated concept is so cleverly explored in Greg Jardins feature directorial debut Its Whats Inside. College sweethearts Shelby (Brittany OGrady) and Cyrus (James Morosini) struggle with their communication, and their attempt to light a romantic fire under their dying relationship fails at every turn. To rekindle their flame, the couple join an old college friend, Reuben (Devon Terrell), for a weekend get-away before hes set to say I do to his fiance Sophia.

The following contains minor spoilers for It's What's Inside, now streaming on Netflix.
Netflix's horror comedy movie It's What's Inside is a body-swapping extravaganza that involves interconnected romances, Instagram blackmail, and an attempted peanut butter murder. When eight friends from college meet up the night before a wedding, the outcast of the group suggests playing a game with a new machine his tech team's been working on. The game switches the bodies of everyone playing -- and it brings out the darkest desires of each player.
Four of the players are Shelby, Cyrus, Forbes and Brooke. The former two are a couple struggling to reignite their sexual chemistry because of Cyrus' attraction to another friend. Brooke is down for whatever she can take to have a good time, so she's not against an experiment. Forbes, though, is the mysterious master of the game -- holding resentment for an incident back in college.

If there’s one thing movies have taught us it’s you should never, ever be alone in a house. Heck, even with other people. You’re just going to get haunted, or you’re going to get slashed, or at the very least your place will be an absolute mess in the morning and you’ll have to tell your parents what really happened. So go outside, dang it! You’re more likely to star in a romantic comedy if you’re not trapped in an isolated mansion on a dark and gloomy night, making side-eyes at your old college friends who secretly hate you or want you dead.
Then again, if you do stay inside, you might as well watch Greg Jardin’s engrossingly mean-spirited “It’s What’s Inside,” which takes the familiar setup — we sure are alone in this house and nothing bad could possibly happen to us...

Dark secrets, resentment, and jealousy raucously bubble up to the surface in writer/director Greg Jardin’s feature debut, It’s What’s Inside. A pre-wedding reunion amongst former college friends begins with easy revelry as eight gather to reminisce and imbibe in mind-altering substances. Only none know just how mind-bending the night will become when a suitcase emerges to introduce a new party game, one that catapults the group into an identity-bending funhouse of sci-fi comedy and horror. Its irreverent tone and Jardin’s visual eye ensure a highly entertaining time, though it becomes prone to tangled knots.
The opening introduction to college sweethearts Shelby (Brittany O’Grady) and Cyrus (James Morosini) sets the manic, social media-obsessed culture and comedic tone as the pair bicker over a botched attempt to rekindle the passion in their relationship. Shelby’s sweet intentions are undermined by insecurities and suspicions that Cyrus isn’t entirely being truthful with her.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for It's What's Inside.
Netflixs Its Whats Inside features a cast of primarily up-and-coming actors who help create the bold and dysfunctional characters who participate in a daring body-swapping game. Since its Sundance Film Festival debut, the buzz has been high for the horror-comedy movie, which holds an impressive 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The expectations were furthered by Its Whats Insides first trailer, which shows a group of friends playing a game that goes horribly wrong.
Due to the movies premise, the eight lead actors in Its Whats Inside end up playing more than one character during the one-and-a-half-hour runtime. Luckily, the actors manage to distinguish each character with different mannerisms and personalities. Though it isnt the only strength, Its Whats Inside succeeds because of the strong performances of the cast of rising stars.

Exclusive: It’s What’s Inside, which lands on Netflix on Oct. 4, marks the first time husbands Colman and Raúl Domingo produced a feature film together.
In an exclusive featurette from Netflix, the couple discussed their work on the thriller — Colman executive producing and Raúl producing for their company Edith Productions, which they started at the beginning of the pandemic — as well as with writer and director Greg Jardin.
“A lot of things that we do are a Trojan horse, like you don’t see it coming,” Colman said of Edith’s projects.
“The principle, I think, also, is entertain you while gutting you,” Raúl added.
“It’s usually put into some package. It could be a beautiful cake, but then you realize that there’s a shiv inside,” Colman said. “Or some glitter. You never know.”
