Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for the new film “Eephus,” a baseball film with an odd title, which refers to a slow curve pitch designed to disrupt the timing of the batter’s swing. In select theaters … including Chicago’s Music Box Theatre … beginning March 21st. Play Ball!
An ensemble cast … including Keith William Richards, David Pridemore, Frederick Wiseman, Wayne Diamond, Patrick Garrigan, Russell J. Gannon and the great Bill “Spaceman” Lee, among others … are players in a baseball game for a men’s amateur hardball league, on a field that will be torn down after this final October afternoon. In the course of the action the players refuse to stop the game even as the light dies, to the inevitable end of this part of their lives.
”Eephus” is in select theaters (see local listings) beginning March 21st, including Chicago’s (click) Music Box Theatre.
