The Witcher season 4 doesn't have a release date yet, which is no surprise given how the show has recast its lead role with Liam Hemsworth. Geralt of Rivia's mentor will also look different, as Vesemir's actor also won't be returning due to scheduling conflicts. But according to Netflix, the rest of The Witcher's regular cast will be returning, barring those who died during the climactic end of season 3.

The Witcher season 4 will also be bringing on several new cast members, such as fan-favorite vampire Regis, who will be played by Laurence Fishburne, as well as Danny Woodburn as Geralt's friend, the Dwarf swordsman Zoltan Chivay. Late last week, Prime Video announced a Season 2 renewal for its recent hit adaptation of "Fallout," starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins. Based on the hit video game franchise of the same name, "Fallout" is set 200 years after the apocalypse, when "the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind...and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them."

The first season of "Fallout" premiered exclusively on Prime Video on April 10, and within its first few days post-launch, the series became one of the streamer's top three most-watched titles.

On Thursday, the streaming service renewed The Witcher for Season 5, but revealed that it would be the last season.

The shocking announcement comes as production is finally getting underway on The Witcher Season 4 following countless setbacks.

“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate Season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” showrunner Lauren Hissrich shared in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.”

Netflix’s fantasy series “The Witcher” has been renewed for Season 5, which will be the end of the series, the streamer announced Thursday morning. It also confirmed that Season 4 is now in production, and it will film back to back with Season 5.

Season 4 will be the first with Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry Cavill as lead character, Geralt of Rivia. Netflix announced in October 2022 that Cavill would be departing the show after the third season, which aired in summer 2023 in two parts.

Of all the supporting characters who fill out the sprawling cast of "The Witcher," Tissaia de Vries (MyAnna Buring) might be the most underrated. Yennefer's mother figure also served as Aretuza's headmistress, a strong and sometimes exacting influence on generations of girls who grew up into powerful, world-changing women. Everything comes to a head in season 3 of “The Witcher”.

Netflix released the second action-packed trailer for the new season today, which sees Henry Cavill’s Geralt taking on the world as they pursue his adopted daughter.

“The war brewing outside is nothing compared to what Geralt will unleash to protect his daughter,” warns Joey Batey’s Jaskier.

Netflix’s The Witcher season three volume two trailer declares that destiny put these heroes together – never lost, always found. The new trailer for the final episodes of season three (also the final episodes with Henry Cavill) arrived along with a batch of new photos.

The Witcher season three part one premiered on June 29, 2023 and included episodes one through five. Part two, with episodes six through eight, launches on July 27th.

The Witcher season 3 has been split into two batches of episodes, with the first batch reaching the Netflix streaming service on June 29th and the rest scheduled to be released on July 27th. With the premiere of “Volume 2” now just two weeks away, a full trailer for those episodes has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above. This batch of episodes marks the end of the Henry Cavill era for this show, as he’s leaving the role of Geralt of Rivia behind at the end of this season. As Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia wraps up his final season on Netflix’s “The Witcher”, the cast members sat down with Et Canada to discuss their experiences working with the actor and what they’ll miss most as he bids farewell to the supernatural series after it’s third season finishes rolling out.

Anya Chalotra, who portrays the mighty sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, says she will “miss his face,” much to the laughter of her two co-stars, Freya Allan and Joey Batey.

“I miss his presence; we’ve worked together for five years,” added Chalotra. “He’s always been Geralt, and we’ve built so much trust.”

The Witcher season 3, part 1 spends more time in the kingdom of Redania, where spymaster Sigismund Dijkstra (Graham McTavish) and court mage Philippa Eilhart (Cassie Clare) plot how to maintain their power in the North when faced with Nilfgaard's incoming onslaught. The popular Netflix series also introduces another member of their entourage in the recent batch of episodes: King Vizimir's seemingly clueless brother, Radovid (played by Hugh Skinner). Fans of the beloved games and Andrzej Sapkowski's stories are very familiar with the character, but the latest iteration is far different than expected.

Redania already has some ties to Geralt's bard friend Jaskier, and The Witcher season 3 highlights Philippa and Dijkstra's plan to use him to bring Geralt's ward Ciri under their control. But they are far from the only party interested in the Lioncub of Cintra, and Radovid's growing attraction to Jaskier makes him harder to manipulate than they anticipated.
