No good deed goes unpunished in Urchin, a London-set character study that shows so much sophisticated and worldly wisdom it’s hard to believe that its writer, director and co-star is only 28 years old. Built around a charismatic performance from Frank Dillane, best known for his role as recovering heroin addict Nick Clark in AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, Harris Dickinson’s remarkable feature debut takes the tropes of socially conscious British cinema and fashions a deceptively nuanced cautionary tale that isn’t so much about the failings of that society as our own personal capacity for self-destruction.
At the center of the drama is Michael (Dillane), who we find sleeping rough, woken up by city noise and the earnest entreaties of a largely ignored street preacher. In a subtle moment that tells you exactly who he is, Michael rudely pushes past her, then sets about his day. After charging his phone,...

In Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, fans were hit by not one, but two massive deaths in the Clark family: Madison Clark and her son Nicholas "Nick" Clark. There was at least a sense of relief in Season 7 when it was revealed Madison survived the stadium fire, but Nick was permanently long gone. The back-to-back deaths in Fear the Walking Dead's main family upset fans, but Nick's death especially hit a nerve for on-screen and behind-the-scenes reasons.
It's not unusual for fans of The Walking Dead to be surprised by unexpected deaths. At the time of Nick's death in Season 4, Episode 3, "Good Out Here," The Walking Dead already had its most controversial deaths: Glenn Rhee in Season 7 and Carl Grimes in Season 8. Needless to say, The Walking Dead fans were suffering by the time Nick made his bloody exit. But while...

For a time, "The Walking Dead" was the biggest show on cable. It was truly a juggernaut, and one that wasn't necessarily expected to become such a widespread hit. When it did, AMC was quick to capitalize on the success with a spin-off in the form of "Fear the Walking Dead." Debuting on the network in 2015, this show took us back to the very beginnings of the zombie outbreak in Los Angeles, centering on a new collection of characters.
"Fear the Walking Dead" ran for a full eight seasons, making it a wildly successful spin-off and paving the way for AMC to build out an entire universe that is still going strong today. While some of the characters from these shows lived on and were able to venture into different spin-offs, others weren't so lucky. Such was the case with Nick Clark (Frank Dillane), who was not only an important...

Ever since the early days of The Walking Dead, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) have been two of the franchise's most popular characters. They've long had a close bond, but the relationship is not one that has ever gotten romantic... at least on-screen.
Per TVLine, Reedus and McBride weighed in on the speculated romance between Daryl and Carol. The actors were asked if Daryl and Carol have "ever hooked up," and Reedus initially fired back, "That's my mom you're talking to!" However, Reedus also hinted that it's possible, perhaps with the assistance of drug use. For her part, McBride said, "I don't know. Maybe they have!" McBride also teased that she has her own ideas on what may or may not have happened between Daryl and Carol, but she's choosing to keep that theory to herself.

The Walking Dead Universe is the most successful horror TV franchise of the modern era, branching off from the original series to include several popular spinoffs and collections. Though the original show ended in 2022, series such as The Ones Who Live, Daryl Dixon, and Dead City have captured the attention of viewers and kept pop culture engaged in the world of the undead.
Though some shows within the franchise, such as Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond, are considered the least successful spinoffs overall, the terror and shock of this post-apocalyptic world has continued to intrigue audiences, even when the episodes occasionally garner more criticism than praise. Throughout the various shows within the franchise, some notable seasons stand out among the rest.

Dillane starred as Nick Clark, one of the main characters and a member of the Clark family alongside Alycia Debnam-Carey and Kim Dickens.
Fear the Walking Dead was the first spin-off series commissioned in the hit Walking Dead universe. It focused on exploring the early days of the zombie outbreak in Los Angeles, primarily from the point of view of the Clark family.

Critics praise The Tourist for its thrilling and entertaining storytelling, giving it an impressive overall 95% Rotten Tomatoes score. Audiences, however, disagree with critics and find The Tourist to be flat and tedious and the plot to be absurd and convoluted, giving it a 60% score. Despite differing opinions, The Tourist is a hit on Netflix and remains in its Top 10 TV Shows.
Critics and audience's scores on Rotten Tomatoes don't always line up on every project, but the consensus on the BBC show The Tourist is shockingly divided. The early reviews are phenomenal for the upcoming FX, Disney+, and Hulu series Shogun.
Starring Hiroyuki Sanada (Mortal Kombat), Shogun is based on the original 1975 novel of the same name by James Clavell. The series is partly a historical drama, though it's also a fictionalized version of true events. It is set during the year 1600 and follows various characters and story arcs, and it has often drawn comparisons to the early years of Game of Thrones. With its early screenings with critics, the show has also debuted incredibly strong at Rotten Tomatoes with a first score of 100% on the review aggregator website. High praise is being given to the cast, writing, and the scenery, as Shogun is leaving the critics very impressed all around.

Some Fear The Walking Dead characters' exits were strategically used to impact other characters' development. On-screen deaths like Nick Clark's were a major loss, but sometimes happened because of actors' wanting to leave the series for various reasons. Other Fear The Walking Dead characters' exits were all planned as part of the overall story arcs.
Over Fear The Walking Dead's eight seasons, numerous cast members have left. In The Walking Dead franchise as a whole, big exits have often surprised fans, such as Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick Grimes) in season 9 or Jeffrey DeMunn (who played Dale) in season 2 of the main show. Reasons tend to vary, whether it's at an actor's request or otherwise.
Nevertheless, how characters are written out to accommodate these exits can be quite brutal or fairly open-ended, depending on the storyline. For instance, Troy Otto's season 3 death seemed like the end of Daniel Sharman...

Nick Clark's death in Fear the Walking Dead was not a creative decision, but rather a request made by actor Frank Dillane. Dillane asked to leave the show after being on it for three or four years and feeling that it was time to move on. Nick's death had a significant impact on the characters in the final season, especially Morgan and Madison, who are still struggling with the emotional trauma.
In Fear the Walking Dead, Nick Clark died in season 4, but it wasn't a creative decision to push the plot forward. Frank Dillane portrayed the troubled character since the spinoff's debut in 2015. Nick, who was the eldest child of Madison (Kim Dickens) and the brother to Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), served as a central character for three years, leading up to his shocking death. When Nick was introduced in Fear the Walking Dead, he was suffering from a heroin...

Fear The Walking Dead has experienced a damaging trend of actors leaving the show, resulting in untimely character deaths and unsatisfying closures. Garret Dillahunt (John Dorie) and Frank Dillane (Nick Clark) both requested to leave the show for personal reasons, which led to their characters being killed off. The show's handling of actors' exits often resulted in contrived explanations and implausible outcomes, frustrating fans and damaging the show's potential success.
The eight-season-long AMC zombie show Fear The Walking Dead said goodbye to numerous actors, which revealed a damaging trend for the series. The Walking Dead franchise sent off many beloved characters over the years, from Steven Yeun's Glenn in the main show to Maggie Grace's Althea in Fear The Walking Dead. Fear The Walking Dead missed an opportunity to bring back popular characters for a more conclusive and satisfying ending. Characters like Nick Clark and John Dorie could have had small cameos in the series finale to give them proper farewell moments. The absence of these characters and their missed goodbyes affected the overall emotional impact and could have made the finale more touching.
While Fear The Walking Dead's series finale offered closure to many character storylines, the show missed the ideal chance to bring back two popular characters. The Walking Dead's 8-season spinoff ensured a series ending that didn't act as an obvious bridge into other new spinoffs like the main show's finale did. Focusing on concluding storylines was integral to Fear The Walking Dead because much of the critique before was around contrived stories and too many characters to incorporate. The following contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead Season 8, Episode 12, "The Road Ahead," which debuted Sunday, Nov. 19 on AMC.
Fear the Walking Dead has come to an end after eight seasons of creative curveballs and reinventions. The series has experienced a revolving door of cast members, showing that no one is safe in a zombie apocalypse. But among the many that were introduced in the first two seasons of the series, only five remained: Madison Clark, Alicia Clark (who returned in the series finale), Victor Strand, Daniel Salazar, and Luciana Galvez.
Daniel and Luciana have been deeply connected to the Clark family since their introduction. Daniel saved Madison's fiancée, Travis, from a riot in Los Angeles, and Luciana developed a romantic relationship with Nick Clark. Throughout each season, Daniel and Luciana develop a closer bond beyond the Clarks and learn to survive with each other's company. Talking to Cbr about the series finale,...

Warning: Spoilers for the Fear the Walking Dead two-part series finale
The blue flower, specifically a bluebonnet, holds emotional significance in Fear the Walking Dead's ending, symbolizing the theme of goodness and Madison's changing outlook for the better. Madison's decision to leave the flower for Strand signifies that she has found something good in the world, namely Alicia, and represents a well-deserved happy ending for both Madison and Alicia. Confirmation of Alicia Clark's death has yet to be made on Fear the Walking Dead, but her memory lives on. Victor Strand encounters three women whose life work is to embody Alicia's spirit, but by toxic and dehumanizing means. The women’s mission resembles that of Negan’s Savior cult, tarnishing the reputation of a legacy character.
The following contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead Season 8, Episode 10, "Keeping Her Alive," which debuted Sunday, Nov. 12 on AMC.
Fans of Fear the Walking Dead are still holding out hope that Alicia Clark is still alive in the apocalyptic United States, regardless of Troy Otto's claims that he murdered her. A simple rule of Fear the Walking Dead is that if a body is never found, the death never happened. The show, however, persists with the idea that Alicia is deceased, and has moved to the point of discussing her legacy.

With a show as inconsistent as Fear the Walking Dead, you never know what you'll get.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 8 was another middle-of-the-road installment, but it did feature reunions, callbacks, and a shocking death that should usher in the final episodes of the series.
Since Charlie's arrival on Fear the Walking Dead Season 4, she's been one of the most polarizing figures in franchise history.
That's what you get when you kill someone as pure as Nick Clark and live to tell the tale.
There was an element of ambiguity surrounding Charlie's fate since the end of Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 because, with such a severe case of radiation, she stood to die soon after the events at Strand's tower.

The unimaginable — a modern U.S. civil war — gains considerable clarity and alarming proximity in the documentary “Against All Enemies,” about the continuing rise of far-right extremist groups. Various talking heads here stress that the January 6 insurrection was no aberration but part of a fast-evolving pattern that poses a serious threat to our democracy. Charlie Sadoff’s film focuses largely on the role of military veterans in groups that one way or another seem to be agitating for violent government overthrow, though it also casts a wider net. This densely packed, sobering overview of hitherto subterranean political trends feels tooled for broadcast, where in any case it would have the most impact.
While one would think adherence to their Oath of Enlistment would prevent veterans from joining any such cause, the siren call of online propaganda and individuals’ societal alienation post-service actually make them particularly susceptible. Paranoid rhetoric convinces many...

With 11 Emmy victories spread over its first two seasons, including two for Best Comedy Series, “Ted Lasso” has quite a reputation to live up to heading into year three. Whether or not the Apple TV Plus show’s newest dozen episodes – which will stream on a weekly basis from March 15 to May 31 – will be followed by any more remains a mystery.
