One of the best aspects of Dandadan is the main protagonists, Momo and Okarun, especially their natural chemistry. They act like realistic teenagers, but trust each other enough to communicate. Moreover, Dandadan avoids a traditional romance route you would expect from a Shonen series and rewrites the norm.

There isn’t a moment in Dandadan where Momo doesn’t shine. She’s often the hero rather than a damsel, even when she’s in danger. Abby Trott, her English voice actor, discusses this in an interview with FandomWire’s Adya Godboley and Tushar Auddy.

Held in the Peacock Theater at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the panel event saw director Yamashiro and Science Saru producer Kohei Sakita were joined on stage by English voice cast members Abby Trott (Momo), A.J. There are many things that DanDaDan fans want to see when the series returns for Season 2 later this week. Dandadan became a hit in 2024, and fans cannot wait for the release of its second season, especially after that ominous cliffhanger. The unique blend of horror, comedy, and a bit of romance makes it an excellent series to get into. It’s truly one-of-a-kind. However, it might not be easy for everyone to watch for one aspect.

Momo Ayase, the female protagonist of Dandadan, is often subjected s*xually harassment and is nearly assaulted by the antagonists. She’s been through enough close calls. Episode 1 itself depicted her being chased down and abducted by the Serponians, who then stripped and tied her down. The tools they wanted to use on her left little to the imagination.

This scene isn’t the last disturbing one Momo has been through. If it wasn’t easy for us to watch this playing out in Dandadan, it must’ve been even harder to act out.

Demon Slayer and Dandadan weren’t the only things we got to talk about, going from our shared love for late-night ramen to cosplaying.

The best part was getting to know the ins and outs of the voice acting industry. You hear them in video games and animated projects, but what goes on behind the scenes can only be conjecture. For someone as lively as Trott, Momo and Nezuko stood at two extremes – one who rarely talked and the other who talked her heart out.

Afro’s Laid-Back Camp series has been one of the pillars of the iyashikei genre, as you probably know. This series provided people with a lovely, stress-free environment, giving them a way to escape their daily worries.

But, as we’ve reported, Afro’s other series, mono, was also adapted in anime format recently and the series was quite a hit among fans of the genre, despite being very short in its duration.

In this interview with Animehunch, she talks about her process of bringing these characters to life, and also her concerns regarding AI among other things.

You’ve voiced characters in both anime and video games, such as Momo Ayase in Dandadan and Annette in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. How does your approach differ between these two mediums?

Demon Slayer has several vibrant and passionate characters. Among them, Nezuko is one of the most popular characters despite almost being a demon. This lovely girl is voiced by Abby Trott, a talented voice actress who has been in multiple other roles.

Among her other roles, Trott’s most famous ones are probably Momo from Dandadan and Shizuka from Zom 100. She has also played Hikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Snorri in Vinland Saga, Machi in Hunter x Hunter, and more. But even amongst all of these, Nezuko stands out as a difficult role to play.

Demon Slayer has plenty of characters who sure do like to talk a lot. Of course, the first who comes to mind is Zenitsu. His character is so lively and energetic that most people’s shouting voice is his normal range.

Nezuko is one of the most fan-favorite characters from Demon Slayer. Although the show mostly centers around her brother, the protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko, too, has won the fans’ hearts since the very first episode. Even though she is mostly silent in the series.

In fact, some of the fans’ most favorite sequences from the show feature her at the center stage. Interestingly, though, her English Va, Abby Trott, seems to be of a different mind. As it stands, her favorite moments from Demon Slayer actually feature the King of the Mountains, Lord Inosuke, stealing the spotlight from her.

In an interview with Cbr last month, the fan favorite Demon Slayer character Nezuko’s voice actor from the dubbed version, Abby Trott, recounted some of her favorite moments from the show.

The wait for DanDaDan Season 2 just got a little bit easier. Gkids and Shout! Studio announced today that Season 1 of the massively popular anime series will get an extra-special Blu-ray release soon. The artwork of the Blu-ray release evokes every element from the show: comedy, sci-fi, supernatural and the tiny kitten mascot who is actually the spirit of an old woman along with protagonists Okarun (Natsuki Hanae in the original and A.J. Beckles in the English dub) and Momo Ayase (Shion Wakayama and Abby Trott). The series will hit shelves on June 10.

The collector's edition of the DanDaDan Blu-ray will come in a box with a 32-page booklet, as well as art cards that champion the anime's distinct visual style and a die-cut sticker. As fans of the manga know, the art from DanDaDan stands out both in animated form and in stills, and it's one of the reasons why the franchise became so popular.

In the Dandadan anime, English-language voice actor Abby Trott portrays Momo Ayase -- a feisty teenage girl with psychic abilities who fearlessly stands up against supernatural and paranormal threats. Recently, Trott discussed how the role of Momo required a great deal of "homework" ahead of the first recording sessions.

During a one-on-one interview with Cbr, Trott compared her preparation for Momo to that of Nezuko from the Demon Slayer series. Prior to Dandadan, Nezuko was the first major character role that Trott gained significant praise for. "I've done a fair share of anime, but no character has been as recognizable or as beloved as Nezuko. She's everyone's precious little bean," Trott said. Unlike Momo, Nezuko is a part human, part demon character whose main form of communication comes in the form of non-verbal dialogue. However, Trott also felt that Momo had a unique level of "complexity" that necessitated an altogether different acting approach.

Last year, Science Saru's Dandadan anime introduced viewers to Momo Ayase and 'Okarun' -- two teenagers with oppositional personalities who form a powerful bond while teaming up against creepy aliens and eccentric apparations. Abby Trott, who voices Momo Ayase in the English dub, recently revealed which "Mokarun" moments are her absolute favorites so far.

During a lengthy interview with Cbr, Trott divulged what sets Dandadan apart from her other major series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. In the latter anime, Trott portrays Nezuko, an adorable demon girl who mainly communicates by "growling or kicking." According to Trott, Momo is a much more "dynamic" role. Consequently, her behavior toward 'Okarun,' (A.J. Beckles) sometimes teeters between friendly and combative. It has been six years since Demon Slayer came out, and it is now approaching its grand finale with the release of the Infinity Castle movie trilogy. Demon Slayer is one of the most visually appealing masterpieces by Ufotable studio. But other than being carried by animation, the series is all about compelling storyline and themes. The sibling bond is something that had us viewers rooting for the Mc, but there’s one thing that the series did best.

Yukinobu Tatsu's Dandadan introduces Japanese yokai and otherworldly occult science fiction monsters as part of its shonen romance adventure. In the latest Science Saru studios animation on Netflix and Crunchyroll, protagonists Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura encounter creatures of all kinds. Each has a unique powerset, vibrant color aesthetic, and fluent animation. Together, the two of them have to survive the horrors as aliens hunt for their banana organs and vengeful spirits hunt for their lives. One of the first encountered is the famous Japanese spirit, the Turbo Granny.

The Turbo Granny encounters Okarun and Ken Takakura and has a chaotic trade offer. If she lets her take Okarun's family jewels, she'll let the younger boy suckle on her teets. A strange deal that obviously doesn't work for the high schooler, but unfortunately, that only makes things worse for him. Yukinobu Tatsu takes from real-world phenomena when creating the antagonists of his series.

Regardless of your preference between subs or dubbed anime, there's no denying the voices behind the characters are what truly bring them to life on screen. Even a character like Nezuko Kamado, who has had very few spoken moments across the Demon Slayer anime, comes to life through the small growls, grunts and adorable sounds she makes to enamor audiences worldwide. The voice behind Nezuko, Abby Trott, has had a vibrant voiceover career.

Between video games and anime, Abby Trott's given voice to some of the most memorable characters over the last decade. Trott's most recent role as Dandadan's Momo Ayase proves once again that there's nothing like a strong voice to make a character unforgettable. Cbr had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Abby Trott about her career, her favorite moments, and what's on the horizon for her now that the Demon Slayer anime is drawing ever closer to its inevitable ending.

Beyond anime, she has voiced Magik in Marvel Rivals and performed the English version of the main theme for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Her talent has earned her industry recognition, including a nomination for Best Voice Artist Performance at the 8th Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2024.

The popular Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series has received an adorable new blind box collection, with each figure inspired by flowers from a different month of the year.

Via a press release, Pop Mart launched a blind box figure set inspired by Ufotable's popular Demon Slayer anime series. The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Birth Flower Series Figures" features the four main characters -- Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira -- as well as the nine Hashira.
