Riaan Smit is an actor born in Grande Prairie, Alberta to South African immigrants. He attended the Atlantic Theatre Company Acting School in New York, where he had the rare opportunity of being directed by David Mamet in a special workshop in his second year. Since graduating, he has worked in a number of projects with the Polka Dot Rocket Film Collective in Vancouver.
