Shelter PR Promotes Four

Shelter PR, the bi-coastal PR firm repping some of the industry’s top talent that’s also a key player in the awards space, has promoted four senior publicists across its Los Angeles and New York offices.

The promotees are Jenny Tversky, Jessica Sze, Stephanie Kazanjian, and Larissa Saenz, who (with the exception of Saenz), worked alongside Shelter PR’s founding Partners — Marla Farrell, Cara Tripicchio and Christine Tripicchio — during their earlier tenure at Wkt Public Relations, the firm now known as Wolf Kasteler PR.

Named Executive Vice President, Tversky will oversee company and staff relations across both coasts. A founding member of Shelter PR, Sze has been promoted to Vice President within the company’s New York office, as has Kazanjian. And then there’s Saenz, who has been named a Vice President of Shelter PR’s Los Angeles office.

Stars: Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sam Worthington, Jean Reno, Vincent D’Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Billy Magnussen, Yun Jee Kim, Viveik Kalra, Jacob Batalon | Written by Daniel Kunka | Directed by F. Gary Gray

After behind-the-scenes conflict marred the final cut of 2019’s Men In Black: International, director F. Gary Gray returns with a simpler premise for Lift. The story initially begins at an auction in Venice, where international thief Cyrus Whitaker (Kevin Hart) arrives to bid on an item. Keeping an eye on Cyrus is Interpol agent Abby Gladwell (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), although it becomes clear that this is part of the plan when Cyrus’ team evades the agents to simultaneously kidnap an Nft artist and steal a Van Gogh painting.

Under the orders of her boss (Sam Worthington), Abby offers a deal to Cyrus and his team for immunity. In exchange, they agree to steal the $500 million in gold that billionaire Lars Jorgensen...

Lift Movie Review ( Photo Credit – IMDb )

What’s Good: Not trying too hard to release this in theatres and giving us the option to skip it midway…

What’s Bad: …though I couldn’t skip the film midway because of the review, but you can

Loo Break: You don’t even have to pause the film; in fact, watch it for ten minutes and go on a break for 1 hour 30 minutes, and by the time you are back, this will be over

Watch or Not?: Lol! Would you still ask from whatever you’ve read till now?

Language: English

Available On: Netflix

Runtime: 1 hour 44 minutes

User Rating:

The flight of this F. Gary Gray’s directorial takes off midway into the story when a master thief,...

Lift Review
Image
Plot: A band of expert criminals led by Cyrus Whitaker is recruited to do what they do best — lift $500 million in gold from a passenger plane— but they must do it mid-flight at 40,000 feet!

Review: The entire plot of the Quibi/Roku series Die Hart hinges on Kevin Hart wanting to break out of comedy roles so he can be taken seriously as an action hero. While that plot was played for laughs, it was not the first time Hart tried something different. Both his films The Upside and Fatherhood, as well as the Netflix limited series True Story gave Hart more opportunities to channel his dramatic talents, but Lift is the comedian’s first project that is straight action without the reliance on his being the butt of the joke. Cast in a role commonly saved for Hart’s friends Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg, Lift is a big-budget...

Netflix’s ‘Lift’ Is Not That Good But Still Entertaining (Review)
Image
CinemaBlind’s Review – 70%

F. Gary Gray‘s latest Netflix heist film is coming tomorrow and for the people who are excited about film Lift, CinemaBlind is here to watch and judge the upcoming film in advance for you. Starring Kevin Hart in the leading role, the film revolves around a group of master thieves whom Interpol catches at the beginning of the film, but they are offered full immunity and in turn, they will have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist.

Lift is another one of Netflix’s blockbuster cinema like what they tried to do with Ryan Reynolds‘ 6 Underground and Red Notice, but the good thing here is that it is better than both of those films but it is also nowhere near the great heist film like Ocean’s Eleven or Gary Gray’s own The Italian Job.

‘Lift’ Review: Kevin Hart Ratchets Up His Action-Star Cred In Netflix Heist Film That Is Ludicrously Entertaining
Image
After parodying his attempts to become an action-movie star in the Quibi/Roku short film series Die Hart (later compiled into a Amazon Prime feature), Kevin Hart goes for the gold in the genre and attempts to do the real thing in Lift, an absurdly ridiculous, over the top but still entertaining heist movie that strains credibility at every turn — but who cares because it’s got Hart.

The latest bloated Netflix star-driven action epic on the scale of Red Notice and The Gray Man, this one has our star as master art thief Cyrus Whitaker, whom we meet with his team trying to pull off one of their signature thefts at a Venice Italy auction house involving an Nft (just to keep this as contemporary as they come), leading to a wild boat chase all over the colorful canals but not ending well for the gang.

But just when you think they are down,...

New Year's Final Trailer for Kevin Hart's 'Lift' Heist Movie on Netflix
Image
"Three... two... one... lift!" Netflix has unveiled the final "New Year's Day" trailer for the heist action comedy Lift, coming to Netflix to watch streaming in just a few weeks. This action thriller comedy is one of the first big releases on Netflix in 2024 (along with Society of the Snow). An international heist crew, led by Cyrus Whitaker, race to lift $500 million in gold from a passenger plane while flying at 40,000 feet. It's from the same director as The Italian Job remake and Law Abiding Citizen, so it might actually be entertaining to watch. With Kevin Hart Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D'Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Jacob Batalon, Billy Magnussen, Viveik Kalra, Yun Jee Kim, Burn Gorman, Paul Anderson, plus Jean Reno and Sam Worthington. This doesn't look that bad, but it also but doesn't look that good either, like most of the expensive Netflix movies recently. Worth a watch? Hard to tell from just the trailers.

Image
The movie Lift is an entertaining step in the right direction for Netflix's big-budget movies, with stylish direction from F. Gary Gray and a unique roster of cast and characters. The ensemble cast, including Billy Magnussen, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Yun Jee Kim, had a collaborative process, with ad-libbing and building their characters on set. Yun Jee Kim, in her American film debut, was initially anxious and nervous but felt lucky to have great chemistry with her co-stars, making the experience comfortable and fun.

A group of thieves face their biggest and most dangerous job yet in Lift. After being caught dead to rights by Interpol, Cyrus and his team are offered the chance to have their records expunged, giving them a chance at a new life, though have to find a way to steal $500 million in gold from a passenger plane during a flight that belongs to one of...
