Bella Poarch is entering into the acting world.

The 28-year-old TikTok sensation will be teaming up on screen with Sasha Lane for the upcoming horror movie Six Till Midnight, directed by Andrew Donoho.

It marks Andrew‘s feature directorial debut, who has directed music videos for artists such as Janelle Monáe, Paul McCartney and Twenty One Pilots, as well as Bella, per Variety.

Here’s a synopsis: The movie “follows six strangers lured into a cryptic online game show run by the anonymous ‘Host’ who knows their darkest secrets. If they uncover their hidden connection before midnight, they’ll win the prize of a lifetime. Fail, and they won’t make it out alive.”

Carter Jenkins, Nicole Maines, Devin Druid, Assaf Cohen, Tyler Hardwick and Trang-Anh Dong round out the cast.

Six Till Midnight is the first movie to come out of a slate deal between Timur Bekmambetov‘s Bazelevs banner and Zq.

Sasha Lane and TikTok star Bella Poarch are set to star in horror feature “Six Till Midnight,” from director Andrew Donoho and produced by Timur Bekmambetov.

“Six Till Midnight” will mark the film acting debut for Poarch, the Filipino-American platinum-selling singer-songwriter and one of the top TikTok creators with more than 125 million followers and 2 billion music streams. It’s also the feature directorial debut for Donoho, who has directed various music videos for artists such as Janelle Monáe, Paul McCartney and Twenty One Pilots. He has also directed the viral Billboard 100 hit “Build a B*tch” for Poarch.

Written by Gregg McBride, “Six Till Midnight” follows six strangers lured into a cryptic online game show run by the anonymous “Host” who knows their darkest secrets. Ahead of Superman, audiences are revisiting, or perhaps watching for the first time, David Corenswet's previous big screen outing, 2024's Twisters. The disaster movie is currently climbing the charts on Prime Video.

Per FlixPatrol, Twisters is currently No. 5 on Prime Video's U.S. Top 10 Movies list, sitting just below The Accountant 2, The Accountant, Oblivion, and The Beekeeper, all of whom are making their debut on the list. Twisters has jumped up three spots from yesterday, where it was at No. 8. Coincidentally, No. 8 is where Twisters is currently sitting on Prime Video's Top 10 Overall list for the day, coming in under the series Clarkson's Farm, Motorheads, and The Better Sister and the aforementioned four movies.

Sasha Lane (Hellboy 2019) and Elias Kacavas (“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”) have been cast in the satirical horror-thriller Corporate Retreat, Variety reports.

They join an ensemble that includes Lilly Krug (Plane), Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction), Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Simona Tabasco (“The White Lotus”), and Odeya Rush (Goosebumps).

Described as “a gory mix of The Menu and Saw,” the film centers around a group of corporate executives whose team-bonding trip turns into a bloody fight for survival against a vengeful retreat leader.

Currently in production in Los Angeles, Aaron Fisher (Inside the Rain) is directing from a script he co-wrote with Kerri Lee Romeo.

Uri Singer is producing via his Passage Pictures.

“American Honey” breakout Sasha Lane and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” star Elias Kacavas have joined the cast of the horror-satire “Corporate Retreat.” The pair will appear in an ensemble that includes Alan Ruck (“Succession”), Rosanna Arquette (“Pulp Fiction”), Ashton Sanders (“Moonlight”) and Odeya Rush (“Lady Bird”). The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Lane’s recent credits include “Twisters” and “How to Blow Up a Pipeline,” as well as the limited series adaptation of Sally Rooney’s “Conversations With Friends”.

Kacavas recently starred in the “Pretty Little Liars” reboot series. He also starred in the film “Winter Spring Summer or Fall” alongside Jenna Ortega, and was also featured in the HBO series “Euphoria.”

“We are really happy to bring Sasha and Elias onboard,” producer Uri Singer said in a statement. “This cast is so incredible – we can’t wait for audiences to see them all together onscreen.”

Hulu has officially ordered a new crime drama series based on the 1987 film, Black Widow, with Shameless actress Emmy Rossum in talks to star in the show.

Per Deadline, Rossum is set to executive produce the untitled project alongside New Girl creator Liz Meriwether and is in talks to star in the series as well. The official logline for the untitled series reads: "An FBI agent uses the secrets from a female serial killer’s past to try and find her.” Rossum will reportedly portray the FBI agent if an agreement is reached to star in the series. In addition to serving as executive producer, Meriweather will also serve as writer on the series.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor credited his sobriety for keeping him grounded during the 2022 filming of the psychological thriller, which he executive produced and starred in alongside Emmy Rossum, Amanda Seyfried, Will Chase and Sasha Lane. The Crowded Room follows Holland’s Danny Sullivan as he confronts his mental health after becoming involved in a shooting.

Per Variety, Twisters will begin streaming on Peacock on Nov. 15, 2024. Peacock has announced that Universal’s summer hit Twisters will debut on the streaming service on November 15, 2024. Twisters is rated PG-13 for intense action and peril, some language and injury images.

Peacock’s exclusive streaming debut comes on the heels of a successful theatrical run for the film. The movie grossed $370.9 million worldwide, with $267.7 million coming from North American theaters and $103.2 million from international markets.

Universal’s “Twisters,” the summer’s hit tornado action movie with Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, will stream on Peacock beginning on Nov. 15.

The film, a follow up to the 1996 storm-chasing classic, released in theaters on July 19 with a strong $80.5 million opening. It went on to make more than $370 million globally. “Twisters” was a particularly big hit in specialty theaters — like 4Dx, where attendees are blasted by wind, rain and rocked back and forth in their seats.

In addition to Powell and Edgar-Jones, the cast includes Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, David Corenswet, Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane and more. It was directed by Lee Isaac Chung and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Thomas Hayslip and Ashley Jay Sandberg.

Fans can soon chase Twisters from the comforts of the couch or bedroom. The well-received disaster film sequel is set to make its home video debut later this month following its respectable box-office run.

Per Collider, Twisters will become available via 4K Uhd, Blu-ray and DVD on Oct. 22, just over three months after the film debuted in theaters worldwide. Twisters has been available to purchase/rent digitally since August, featuring deleted scenes and other bonus content.

The Crowded Room is an Apple TV+ miniseries that premiered in June 2023 and is based on a real, incredible, and psychologically distressing story. Based on the non-fiction novel, The Minds of Billy Milligan, The Crowded Room is a 10-part series featuring an all-star cast including Tom Holland, Amanda Seyfried, Emily Rossum, Sasha Lane, Will Chase, and Lior Raz. The series follows Danny Sullivan (Holland), a troubled young man who is arrested for his involvement in a 1979 New York City shooting. Despite the talent involved, including an impressive performance from Tom Holland as Danny, The Crowded Room was not well-received by critics, earning a 33% on Rotten Tomatoes. 10 episodes proved to be just a bit too long for some viewers who felt like the series spun its wheels.

Despite Sally Rooney having two of her novels adapted into television series, fans can’t expect her third novel to hit the screen anytime soon.

In a conversation with The New York Times, the Normal People author revealed that she is not accepting any offers to adapt her 2021 third book, Beautiful World, Where Are You, following the success of adaptations Normal People and Conversations With Friends, both of which aired on BBC Three/Hulu.

“So far I have decided not to accept any offers to option the rights for that book,” Rooney told the publication. “I felt like it was just time to take a break from that and let the book be its own thing for a while.”

Rooney, who has been described as a generational literary voice previously dubbed the “first great millennial novelist” or “Salinger for the Snapchat generation,” received critical acclaim for her 2018 novel Normal People.

Lane told ComicBookMovie when asked if a follow-up had been discussed. The actor also shared her hopes for her character if a sequel was eventually given the green light. "I don't know. Very curious. I have no idea. Just maybe some more action from Lily, it'd be really cool to see a lot more drone work, actually."
