It's been two years since Disney confirmed a third trip to Salem was in the works following the success of Hocus Pocus 2, yet the Sanderson Sisters' brooms remain grounded, according to Sarah Jessica Parker. During her appearance on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live on Sunday, the star provided a rare update on the witchy threequel when answering a viewer question from two London-based fans. The good news is that the film is still happening, with Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy likely to reprise their roles alongside her. However, there's been little movement since the initial announcement, meaning viewers won't be seeing the Sandersons again anytime soon.
"No more developments, other than we would like to do it," Parker said during the show. As far as where the film was in the development process, she reiterated that, "We would like to do it, and we've been having some conversations.

Happy’s Place Season 2 may not return to NBC until later this year, but filming for the upcoming chapter of Reba McEntire‘s comedy is already underway. As teased in a recent Instagram post, McEntire is back on set with the ensemble behind this series, including Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. While the team is fast at work prepping episodes for Season 2, though, we can’t help but wonder which Reba favorites could turn up as guest stars. Created by Kevin Abbott, Happy’s Place is no stranger to Reba crossover as two key stars play series regulars with McEntire and Peterman, and Season 1 boasted appearances from vets Steve Howey and Christopher Rich, but we can’t help but keep our fingers crossed for more in Season 2. Abbott previously served as an executive producer and writer on Reba, which makes him eager to welcome back familiar faces.

"It feels very nostalgic," says Melissa Peterman of the new sitcom Happy's Place, which has hit the airwaves "in a time where I think people are hungry for that feeling." What's unique about the series, which reunites Peterman with her Reba costar Reba McEntire, is that it features "a lot of characters that we haven't often seen in a sitcom. I love the makeup of our cast. I love what each actor brings to that character from their own life, and their own upbringing and background, which I think is very unique."
Another costar, Belissa Escobedo, grew up watching sitcoms because her mother loved them so much, and as she told Gold Derby, "something I always found was I want to see more people who look like me on these sitcoms." That's certainly the case with Happy's Place, which has six main cast members, three of which are people of color.

When Reba McEntire returned to television last year as the star and executive producer of NBC’s “Happy’s Place,” fans of the singer and actress were delighted to find that the comedy contained the same blend of humor and heart that characterized “Reba,” McEntire’s beloved sitcom that ran from 2001 to 2007. It’s no coincidence that the new series, in which Reba’s character Bobbie McAllister inherits her father’s bar and is forced to run it alongside the half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) she never knew existed, has retained the earlier show’s strengths — not only was it co-created by “Reba” showrunner Kevin Abbott, it actually began life as a potential “Reba” reboot.
“ We were working on a reboot for about a year,” Abbott told IndieWire as part of our Usg University virtual panel series. “The old team had gotten together and we were hashing out, ‘Where would these characters be now?...

George Lopez’s latest sitcom, Lopez vs. Lopez, will not be getting a fourth season. The fan-favorite show was canceled at NBC, per Deadline, and is the latest sitcom to get the axe this year. ABC’s The Connersalso ended its run this spring.
The news of Lopez vs. Lopez’s cancelation came at NBC’s network upfronts, which also included an announcement that Night Court is also not being renewed. Both shows had been on the “bubble” at the network. The sitcom, starring George Lopez, Mayan Lopez, Matt Shively, Bruce Gonzalez, Selenis Leyva, and Al Madrigal had the distinction of being one of the first network comedies that featured a Latino family as a dysfunctional one, a-la Roseanne.
The similarities between Roseanne, The Conners, and Lopez vs. Lopez were likely not coincidental, as Bruce Helford, who helmed the two classic sitcoms, also served as an executive producer on Lopez vs.

In 2001, the world was introduced to a single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids and never stops, when The WB unleashed the power of Reba. For six seasons, audiences followed along with the titular character, played by country music legend Reba McEntire, as she navigated the ups and downs of life after discovering that her husband had been carrying on an affair with a much younger woman. McEntire commanded the stage of the sitcom, but was assisted in doing so by a dynamite ensemble who each helped the show become the massive success that it was.
Now, more than a decade later, while we may not be getting a Reba reboot, fans were thrilled when McEntire and numerous members of the supporting cast reunited for a completely different series, Happy’s Place. Leaving its first season behind with glowing reviews and viewership numbers, the title has nothing but...

Happy’s Place co-creator, Kevin Abbott, is a fan of a good old-fashioned slow burn. During the first season, which celebrated its finale on Friday, audiences watched as Reba McEntire’s Bobbie moved back to Knoxville, Tennessee to take over the titular bar that she inherited from her father. There were plenty of surprises along the way for Bobbie — the main one being her first meeting with a much younger half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) who she didn’t know about.
As Bobbie settled into her new life, it certainly seemed like a relationship was beginning to blossom between her and the bar’s cook, Emmett (Rex Linn). But, now that we’ve seen the Season 1 finale, we can officially say that — despite the shipping of fans — Bobbie and Emmett didn’t take that plunge towards romance. However, Abbott is here to tell audiences not to fear and that it’s all in...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Happy’s Place Season 1 Episode 18, “Alarm Bells.”] Happy’s Place may be ending for the season, but it’s going out with a bang of sorts as the finale installment, “Alarm Bells,” sets the stage for romance between Bobbie (Reba McEntire) and the titular bar’s in-house cook, Emmett (Rex Linn). As a real-life couple, McEntire and Linn certainly have the right chemistry to make this pairing work, and while Bobbie’s sister Isabella (Belissa Escobedo) encourages the arrangement, the rest of the Happy’s Place team works against it, claiming at first that Bobbie and Emmett could never be a thing before admitting the duo are definitely into each other. The fear is that allowing Bobbie and Emmett to get together, could upset the balance of the team’s metaphorical ecosystem. But what sparks the debate, to begin with? When security concerns are raised at Bobbie and Isabella’s place, Emmett...

Though he didn’t give #Bemmett fans everything they’ve been asking for, series co-creator Kevin Abbott is hopeful that they’ll want to keep a tab open at Happy’s Place.
Friday’s Season 1 finale stopped short of having head chef Emmett ask tavern owner Bobbie out on a proper date, but it did set the stage for their inevitable Season 2 romance. That’s one of several storylines already on tap for the NBC sitcom’s 18-episode sophomore run, which also promises to pick up the pace on Gabby’s journey into motherhood… and maybe even introduce her wackadoo parents.

McEntire’s newest venture, Happy’s Place, which airs on NBC and streams on Peacock, is in the midst of its first season and, per Deadline, has just been given the green light for Season 2.

Reba alum Melissa Peterman, plays Gabby in the series, a bartender who is full of drama. The first season also saw Steve Howey (Shameless), who played Van Montgomery on Reba, guest star in an episode of Happy’s Place.

NBC will keep its tab open at Happy’s Place.
The network has renewed Happy’s Place, its multi-camera sitcom starring Reba McEntire, for a second season. The series joins fellow first-year comedy St. Denis Medical in NBC’s lineup for 2025-26.
The renewal doesn’t come as a big surprise: NBC gave the show a vote of confidence in November with an order for five additional episodes, bringing its total for the season to 18.
Happy’s Place has performed consistently well for the network in its Friday-night spot so far this season. It averages 3.38 million same-day viewers, a 54 percent improvement year to year, and adds about 1.3 million more with a week of delayed viewing (not including streaming). Figures for the show’s performance on Peacock aren’t available, but NBC says it’s the streamer’s second-biggest comedy debut ever, behind St. Denis Medical. NBC is going two-for-two with its new comedy series. On the heels of an early renewal for the single-camera St. Denis Medical, the network also has given a Season 2 pickup to Happy’s Place, the multi-camera comedy starring Reba McEntire.

Famed country singer and actress Reba McEntire has returned to scripted TV in the new NBC sitcom Happy's Place. It's not the best comedy of the Fall 2024 season, but it will ring nostalgic for any fans of her previous show, Reba, which aired from 2001 to 2007. Happy's Place was co-created by Kevin Abbott, who was the showrunner for Reba, and several of the same executive producers work on the show, as well. Their tried and true sitcom recipe seems to be working, at least following the first season of Happy's Place, which has received slightly better-than-average reviews from viewers and critics.
Happy's Place follows a Tennessee woman, Bobbie (Reba McEntire), who inherits a tavern from her recently deceased father (the titular Happy). What she also gains is a half-sister she never knew existed, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), who has been named co-owner. Isabella's a Gen Z Latina with a psychology degree who...

NBC's latest update leaves me concerned about Happy's Place. The Reba-led sitcom about a woman who learns of her half-sister's existence after her father's death is one of the network's most popular shows. Happy's Place debuted with over 10 million views and has consistently performed well despite its early Friday night time slot. It revolves around Bobbie's (Reba McEntire) discovery that her father left half the tavern she is running to her half-sister, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), as well as the interactions between the various quirky people who work at the tavern.
Happy's Place's strong ratings were enough for NBC to extend its order for a full season. However, despite the high viewership numbers, Happy's Place season 2 is not guaranteed, since the network has not yet renewed it. NBC recently announced good news for the fans for a different freshman sitcom, so its silence about Happy Place's future is making me worried,...
