The Crawler will keep on crawling through the streets of Tokyo for at least one more season. Today, the popular anime series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes has been renewed for Season 2. The announcement was made after the spin-off series aired its 13th episode in Japan. Along with the renewal, Crunchyroll announced that it will continue to roll out new episodes simultaneously with the Japanese release, and the new episodes are set to debut in 2026. A short teaser was unveiled with the announcement, and you can check it out in this article.
It's a bit early to tell the arcs that My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will cover, but fans of the manga series by Hideyuki Furuhashi already have an idea of which direction Koichi (voiced by Shūichirō Umeda in the original Japanese and by Jack Broadbent in the English dub), Knuckleduster (Yasuhiro Mamiya/Jason Marnocha) and Pop☆Step (Ikumi Hasegawa/Macy Anne Johnson) will go.

When My Hero Academia: Vigilantes started, the new spin-off made it clear that the connections with the flagship anime series would be numerous and direct. The very first episode kicks off with All Might (voiced by Kenta Miyake in the original Japanese and by Christopher Sabat in the English dub), just as an example of it. However, fans didn't expect the new show to provide some deeper connections so soon, and this happened in the latest episode. From the looks of it, the show has just revealed the origin story of a high-profile villain — Stain, the Hero Killer.
Even though he goes by a different name (Stendhal) and sports a different look in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, there are some connections with the My Hero Academia villain. They start with the use of red in his outfit and the character's preference for katanas — a trademark of Stain in the original show.

My Hero Academia fans have nothing to complain about. While they wait for the eighth and final season of the hit anime series, they can enjoy the brand-new spin-off series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. The story takes place before the events of the flagship series and, while fans already expected some familiar faces to pop up, the debut episode brought a cameo that no one saw coming – Deku is present in the spin-off, but not in the way you think.
Also known as Izoku Midoriya, the protagonist of My Hero Academia was not expected to be a part of Vigilantes because, in this new time, he is too young and powerless to integrate with a group of superheroes. However, the Japanese version of the series features voice-over narration by Daiki Yamashita, who voices Deku in the anime's original language. While this doesn't really suggest that Deku will be present in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes,...

The beginning of a new anime season always brings forth waves of excitement and anticipation in the community. With anime being more plentiful than ever before, each anime season is guaranteed to have a handful of outstanding series fans will be eagerly discussing each week. The Summer 2024 season was no exception - from long-awaited continuations like Oshi no Ko Season 2 to novel smash hits like The Elusive Samurai, the last three months of anime were nothing short of incredible.
However, not every Summer 2024 premiere was a raging success. In the sea of titles that debuted this Summer, plenty stood out for all the wrong reasons, making up some of the worst series to have come out this year. As the summer season wraps up and makes way for Octobers premieres, it's becoming clear which shows from the past three months won't be remembered as timeless classics or fan-favorite hits.

There has been a slow uptick in the number of female protagonists in anime recently. These main characters come in all shapes and sizes across multiple genres. This trend has been a long time coming, especially for female anime fans. However, a handful of female protagonists have stood out, especially in recent years, but dont get the recognition they deserve.
The newest female protagonists arent necessarily strong or action-oriented. Many of them are simply kind. They share compassion with anyone who needs it. Strong, independent female protagonists stand out as well. With such a large well of new characters from which to choose, many great female main characters have become much beloved in fans hearts. These characters happen to be the best, but often underappreciated, female protagonists of late.

One Piece: Stampede is an action-packed celebration of the franchise's 20 years, and one that could be the series’ best movie!

After more than 900 episodes and over a dozen feature films, it can be difficult to generate content that doesn’t simply repeat the past. The One Piece series has seen and done a lot at this point, yet despite its hefty history, the series' newest film, One Piece: Stampede, is a satisfying effort that takes the franchise to exciting places.
Stampede is the 14th film in the franchise and is directed by series newcomer Takashi Otsuka. Beyond just commemorating the anime’s 20th anniversary, he’s with also crafting a film that actively takes place outside of the One Piece canon. The choice to isolate the story makes it both more accessible and a pretense to tell a pirate version of It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad World.
