Legendary voice actor, James Carter Cathcart, most known for voicing various Pokémoncharacters including Professor Oak, has died. According to Deadline, Cathcart died of throat cancer on July 8 in New York City. He was 71. The actor's death was announced by his wife, Martha Jacobi, in a post on Facebook. In it, she thanked fans for supporting her husband throughout his career. It reads,

"Thanks to all of Jimmy's fans over the years! Giving you joy was why he worked so hard on his craft. Please know how much he appreciated you!"

James' voice could also be heard in the 2003 television series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, inwhich he voiced Raz in two episodes and Sleeg in one. These roles were credited under a different name, Jimmy Zoppi, which the actor used.

Cathcart's IMDb profile is filled with hundreds of voice credits, with Pokémon showing up consistently throughout the years as you scroll through the list.

Exclusive: Fauda and Gladiator II star Lior Raz is set along with Havana Rose Liu, Jean Reno, and 2x Emmy nominee Tovah Feldshuh for Daniel Roher’s upcoming crime thriller Tuner from Black Bear.

An upcoming animated film that boasts one of the most impressive casts of all time just got a new look. Universal Pictures has officially released a new trailer for The Wild Robot, showing off the film's impressive ensemble which is led by Black Panther and Quiet Place star Lupita Nyong'o. Israeli surrogacy drama “A Body That Works” has been renewed for a second season.

“A Body That Works” (titled “Goof Shlishi” in Hebrew) was Israel’s highest rating drama of 2023. The series, which stars Rotem Sela (“The Baker and the Beauty”) and “Fauda’s” Lior Raz, tells the story of a couple struggling with infertility who enlist a surrogate.

Season 2 will pick up directly after the last season, with Ellie (Sela) and Ido (Yehuda Levi) separated and co-parenting their son, who was delivered via surrogate Chen (Gal Malka). Raz plays a love interst.

Sela and Malka jointly won Series Mania’s best actress award at last year’s festival for their roles in the series.

All four leads return for the six-episode second season along with the creative team, comprised of director Shay Capon (“The Writer”) and executive producers Shira Margalit and Elad Koperman.

Fauda actor Idan Amedi is recovering after he was seriously injured while fighting in Gaza during reserve duty for the Israeli Defense Forces, according to Israeli media reports.

Amedi, who plays the role of Sagi Tzur on Netflix’s popular Israeli drama, joined Israel’s military campaign in Gaza as part of the Combat Engineering Corps immediately after the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in southern Israel by Hamas that killed more than 1,100 Israelis, most of whom were civilians.

The Times of Israel newspaper reported an injured Amedi was brought to the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, where he underwent surgery and continues to receive treatment. Amedi’s life is not in danger, the Israeli singer and actor’s father told the Hebrew-language Walla news site.

Idan Amedi, one of the stars on the breakout Israeli thriller Fauda, has been seriously injured while fighting in Gaza as a member of the Israel Defense Forces, according to local media reports and the show’s lead actor, Lior Raz.

Amedi, who’s played Sagi on Fauda since 2017, was wounded by shrapnel while taking part in an operation to destroy Hamas tunnels.

About an hour before Amadi was injured, N12 reporter Nitzan Shapira spoke to the actor in Gaza and the he said, “I’m fine, a little tired.”

Speaking of the tunnel network that was the target of his mission, Amadi said, “What was built here is crazy, crazy.” You can see the interview below.

In a surprise move, Yes CEO Ilan Sigal has decided to renew the hit Israeli drama Fauda for a fifth season.

According to Variety, Fauda was originally intended to end after its fourth season, but after talks held between Sigal and Netflix, which has streamed Fauda internationally, an arrangement was agreed upon to continue the drama series that addresses the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Sigal and the show's co-creator, Avi Issacharoff broke the news during an annual event held by the Yes company. The fourth season of Fauda was available to stream on Netflix earlier this year, but as yet there is no confirmed date for its return to the streaming platform.

Fauda, the breakout Israeli thriller drama, is unexpectedly returning for a fifth season, Deadline has confirmed with sources.

Yes, the Israeli network behind the show, reportedly unveiled plans for a new season of the show at an event earlier this week. Ilan Sigal, CEO of Yes, appeared on stage with co-creator Avi Issacharoff to confirm the news, according to several Israeli media outlets.

Fauda, which means ‘chaos’ in Arabic, became a huge international hit for Netflix after the streamer licensed the first four seasons of the show. It follows Doron, a commander in Israel’s Mista’arvim counter-intelligence unit, and regularly touches on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

It garnered significant viewing in countries such as Lebanon and cut through in Europe, Asia and the U.S. There have been several remakes, including in India where SonyLIV ordered Tanaav, a Hindi remake.

Season four launched last year and was expected to be the final run.

Ilan Sigal, CEO of Israeli network Yes, revealed the news earlier this week, according to the Jerusalem Post. The newspaper reported that Sigal appeared alongside the show’s co-creator, Avi Issacharoff, at Yes’s annual “Bar Series” event to share the news.

Netflix streams “Fauda” internationally. The fourth season of the show, which was also meant to be the last, released earlier this year.

According to Israeli publication Ynet, “Fauda” was picked up for a fifth season following protracted negotiations between the network and the creators. No details have been confirmed in terms of the season’s plot or when it might air.

Issacharoff, an Israeli journalist, developed the hit series alongside the show’s star Lior Raz almost 10 years ago. It first premiered in 2015, telling the story of Doron (played by Raz), a commander in the Israeli army.
