Based on Michael Sean Erickson's book of the same name, the film will be produced by Bill Oberst Jr. (Stressed to Kill), Robert Lasardo (Anarchy Parlor) and Shaun Gerardo. Oberst Jr. and Lasardo will also star in this film, along with young actress Mykayla Sohn (The Chosen). The film and the book focus on the Mudd family. Pre-production has started on the horror film Darkest Night, which is based on writer Michael Sean Erickson’s book of the same name released in late 2016 by Hot Chili Press. The film will begin shooting in Los Angeles, California, shortly.

Set to star Bill Oberst Jr. (Stressed to Kill), Robert Lasardo (Anarchy Parlor), Noel Gugliemi (Basement Jack), and Mykayla Sohn (The Chosen), Darkest Night tells the story of the Mudd family. Isolated and alone, they are targeted by a shadowy beast, in the local woods. They are also hated by residents living in a nearby town. Assailed at every turn, the Mudds must find a way to survive this hostile environment.
