Will Ferrell has officially made it canon that Buddy the Elf is a fan of the Los Angeles Kings. On Sunday, the actor attended the hockey team’s game with the Philadelphia Flyers while dressed as his character from 2003’s Elf, looking quite worn out from the Christmas season.

Sitting in the stands with his wife and son, Ferrell came decked in a green suit and pointy hat. However, it was quite clear this was a different Buddy than the one he portrayed in the Jon Favreau comedy. Besides sporting a five o’clock shadow, Ferrell dangled a faux cigarette from his mouth and was also spotted drinking a beer.

While speaking to FanDuel Sports Network broadcaster Carrlyn Bathe, Ferrell further committed to the bit by telling her that “it was a tough holiday season” and saying he was “looking for a Kings win.” With a 5-4 victory, the Kings fulfilled Buddy’s wish.

It seems like even Buddy the Elf is over the holiday season this year.
