Bobby Flay is gearing up for the second season of his cooking competition series, “Bobby’s Triple Threat,” with an impressive slate of famed chefs entering the kitchen. Season 2 is set to premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 9 p.m., Variety can reveal.

Food Network has announced the culinary titans to compete on the new season: Tiffany Derry, Michael Voltaggio and Brooke Williamson, who will battle it out in head-to-head rounds against guest competitors for a chance to win $25,000.

Exclusive: Food Network has cooked up its latest Hot List – identifying the food personalities up-and-coming culinary “rock stars” in the content space.

It marks the second list for the Warner Bros. Discovery cable network after publishing its inaugural list in December 2021.

The company said that this year’s list includes a self-described ‘potato queen’, a self-designated ‘kitchen witch,’, restaurateurs and restaurant incubators.

The list includes Serving The Hamptons star Brogan Wu; chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur Esther Choi, chef and culinary manager Fariyal Abdullahi, chef and adventure seeker Gabriele Bertaccini, chef and restaurateur, Julian Rodarte, Michelin-trained chef and social media personality Poppy O’Toole, pastry chef and social justice activist Paola Velez, restaurateur and community activist Jeremy McBryde and chef, restaurateur and Tournament of Champions competitor Shota Nakajima.

“Worst Cooks in America” co-host and “Tournament of Champions” vet Darnell Ferguson is set to host a new Food Network and Discovery+ cooking competition that hopes to mediate food-related tensions in the chef community.

Premiering Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. Et, “Superchef Grudge Match” will see Darnell stage two different battles between chefs who have beefs with each other to finally bury the hatchet and win 10,000 cash, a prized knife from the losing chef and lifelong bragging rights over their food foe.

Per the official description for “Superchef Grudge Match,” “In the series premiere, Darnell welcomes Chefs Antonia Lofaso and Jet Tila to settle their ‘Tournament of Champions’ rivalry – the two were tied in every category, until Jet won a rematch in the finale by one point. "Top Chef" winner Gabe Erales has issued a new apology amid his sexual misconduct scandal, admitting to past inappropriate behavior with an employee and committing to "personal growth."

"I have been silent not because I thought it would go away, but because I needed time with my family to start the healing process before making a public statement," Erales wrote in a post shared to Instagram on Friday. "To say I am sorry that I let my family, friends, staff, supporters, and my Top Chef family down may feel like an understatement at this moment, but it's the first step and a genuine start on my road to making amends."

With his reputation and his future Austin restaurant on the line — along with, presumably, important elements of his personal life — Gabe Erales, the winner of the recently concluded Season 18 of “Top Chef,” has delivered a lengthy apology on Instagram. Erales’ win, after a triumphant season of the Bravo show, has been mired in controversy since news broke of his firing from Comedor, the Austin restaurant where he was head chef.

In a post on Friday, Erales wrote: “The last three weeks have been a trying time of reflection and personal growth.” He said he needed “time with my family to start the healing process before making a public statement.”

“Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi called for an investigation into Season 18 winner Gabe Erales after allegations of misconduct were resurfaced following his victory this week.

In December 2020, Eater Austen reported that Erales was let go as the executive chef of Comedor, a high-end Mexican restaurant. Citing an email from chef and partner Philip Speer, Erales was discharged because of “repeated violations of our policies and for behavior in conflict with our values.” No further details were given at the time.

But on Friday, the Austin American-Statesman reported that Erales was fired after cutting the hours of an employee with whom he had a sexual relationship and engaging in “inappropriate communication” with her after that relationship ended.

“After I returned from ‘Top Chef,’ I made some business decisions as a manager that affected this employee and were found to be discriminatory and I realized that those were bad decisions,” Erales told the Statesman in a statement.

Not everyone is celebrating Top Chef's latest winner. On Thursday, July 1, Bravo's hit series came to an end when Gabe Erales beat out fellow contestants Dawn Burrell and Shota Nakajima and received the $250,000 cash prize in the season 18 finale. After the episode aired, however, some viewers brought up a December 2020 report that claimed Gabe was no longer working at a restaurant due to "repeated violation" of company policies.
