The Burning Question On Social Media

This is a fun game played on social media where people will give others three options, whether that be in the land of movies, primetime, and in this case, soaps, offering up the question: who would you choose to “kiss, marry, or destroy”.

In this case, the Y&r Instagram handle posted a photo of Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), or Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), asking who fans would choose for a liplock, a lifetime commitment, and who they’d want to bring down.

Audra and Sally hashed out backup plans and power grabs of their own.

Lily Weighed Victor’s Shocking Suggestion

Still reeling from a tense video call with Nate (Sean Dominic), Lily (Christel Khalil) joined Devon (Bryton James) at Crimson Lights, both trying to process Damian (Jermaine Rivers) and Chance’s (Conner Floyd) tragic deaths. Lily blamed it all on Cane’s (Billy Flynn) obsession with control. She had no interest in seeing him again and made it clear she wanted nothing to do with him.

Victor (Eric Braeden) entered, and Devon invited him to join them.

The Young and the Restless star Billy Flynn has been making his mark on the role of Cane Ashby since his debut in June. Cane was previously played by General Hospital star Daniel Goddard, so Flynn knew he had his work cut out for him.

Nerves, Insecurity, and Shyness

Flynn is no stranger to playing a recast. It’s how he came into Days of Our Lives as Chad after Casey Deidrick’s exit from the show.

However, playing Cane brought a whole new set of challenges for Flynn. The physical difference between him and Goodard is the biggest challenge for fans. Goodard is older, taller, and Australian.

This Character Should Return and Take Over as Y&r’s New Detective
Image
The Young and the Restless is in need of a new detective. After the shocking and tragic death of Chance, many are wondering who’ll be in charge of the Gcpd. Well, a certain past character should return and take charge over the precinct.

Genoa City’s Finest

Many leading characters have had the honor of being Genoa City’s top detective. Paul (Doug Davidson) is the most famous and he kept the town safe for decades until his retirement and departure. Then there was Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), who sadly passed away in 2022.

Most recently, Chance (Conner Floyd) was the town’s lead detective. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in France when Chance was shot dead by Carter (Vincent Stalba). Chance’s death has sent shockwaves across Genoa City as his friends and family mourn their loss.

The big question on some fans’ mind is who will be Genoa City’s new detective.

Y&r Spoilers: Is Hunter King Set To Return As Summer For A Shocking Revenge On Cane?

The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease an important question: might a recast Summer Newman (most recently Alison Lanier) return to Genoa City?

We can see that Summer might want to get revenge on Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) for the murder of Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd); perhaps Hunter King could return to the role?

Summer Made A Sudden Exit, What Will The Future Be For The Character?

With Lanier stepping away from the role of Summer, fans are curious about what lies ahead for the character.

Although the show has yet to announce any plans for a recast, it’s quite plausible that Summer will return in some capacity in the future. Should that occur, Hunter King might be open to reprising her former role.

However, she has been busy with various other projects, including Hallmark Movies, which could make her availability uncertain.

The long-time running soap opera does well in the ratings; however, no daytime drama is ever truly safe from getting cancelled. Time to talk about this.

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that many fans have been rocked by the passing of Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers), Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), and even Carter (Vincent Stalba), Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) loyal assistant.

Speaking of awkwardness, The Young and the Restless spoilers for this week promise Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will feel a little of this once they get home to Gc.

After all, that steamy kiss they shared while he was dealing with his injury during their hostage crisis will create a sticky situation.

Unfortunately, while Shick fans were happy to see it, Nick will fear he had made a mistake in the moment. It sounds like a Shick reunion won’t be as smooth as some Y&r viewers may think.

Y&r Spoilers: Nick And Sharon’s Kiss Inspires Fans Hoping For Reunion
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) life was saved by Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). He likely would have died if she hadn’t been with Nick when Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) enforcer gashed his abdomen.

Thankfully, she neutralized the goon with a bash to his head while he was attacking Nick. Sharon also ran to the maze and found Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who brought in Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Together, the trio stabilized Nick and got him the medical attention he needed. Longtime fans who’ve wanted Nick and Sharon to reconcile were also thrilled when he offered Sharon a kiss. It appeared to project more than gratitude.

Cane Ashby’s Invitation Proves Disastrous

Nick went along with his parents to Cane’s chateau, as Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) termed it when calling the police for help.

Y&r’s Biggest Shakeup: What’s in Store For These Couples After Nice?
Image
Genoa City’s elite is finally home on The Young and the Restless. But that doesn’t mean the drama is behind them. In fact, some of these core couples are headed for a shakeup later this summer. The horrific trip to Nice changed everything. Here’s the forecast for three couples who are doomed.

The Star-Crossed Lovers

Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire (Hayley Erin) couldn’t be anymore happier to see each other. However, that could quickly change. Audra (Zuleyka Silver) is still out for blood. She doesn’t like losing. She could plan something even more sinister that could tear apart the star-crossed lovers. She knows that Victor (Eric Braeden) doesn’t want his granddaughter with Kyle. And he still has a shiny prize to give away. So Audra will work even harder to break them up in order to get what she wants.

Hide and Seek: Y&r Cast Get Sneaky in the Hedge Maze
Image
The maze mystery is finally over. Carter was behind the murders in Nice. Most of the scenes were gruesome and brutal to witness. Despite the seriousness of this drama, the cast of The Young and the Restless managed to have fun behind the scenes. Some of them had a little too much fun.

Maze Madness

The official Y&r Instagram account shared a fun Reel of the cast showing off their resortwear looks. However, most of them got into hijinks in the maze. Humorous background music played as they snuck around. The video started things off with the beloved father, Victor (Eric Braeden), who peered out from one of the hedges.

Of course, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) had to sneak around as well. Why wouldn’t they? Chance (Conner Floyd) and Sally (Courtney Hope) looked as if they were lost. Meanwhile, Billy (Jason Thompson) made sure to stop and smell the roses.

Y&r Spoilers July 31: Has Kyle Finally Gone Too Far?
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday, July 31, head into August with Diane and Jack finally pulling themselves together from the sight of two dead bodies to worry that their stupid son has done yet another stupid thing and that he expects them to fix it, like usual.

Jack and Diane Worry About Kyle

No matter how many times Kyle (Michael Mealor) reassures his parents that he has everything—Audra (Zuleyka Silver), Claire (Hayley Erin), Victor (Eric Braeden)—under control, Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack (Peter Bergman) aren’t convinced. Maybe it’s because they’ve watched Kyle screw up over and over and over again, then come crying to his Mommy and Daddy, demanding they fix his screw-up… and then denied he’d ever screwed up. It’s what he’d meant to do all along.

For a few days, Diane and Jack were too busy being horrified...

Which Recent Y&r Death Was the Most Difficult?
Image
The grim reaper has made several recent visits on The Young and the Restless. In July, three deaths occurred, leaving fans in shock. While it’s always sad to see a character go, this death may be the hardest.

Who Recently Died On Y&R?

The Y&r death toll started on July 3 with Cole’s (J. Eddie Peck) passing. The writer had been battling health issues, which led to his hospitalization. Despite trying to remain optimistic, Cole knew his time was ending. He shared a sweet and final goodbye with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Claire (Hayley Erin) before succumbing to his illness.

Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was the next character to bite the big one. He was drinking whiskey and talking with Cane (Billy Flynn) when he was killed by a knife to the back. Damian was the first casualty of the France trip, launching a murder mystery.

Connor Floyd Bids Adieu To Young And The Restless In Funky, Fever-Dream-Ish Instagram Post
Image
The bad news is that Connor Floyd officially exited The Young and the Restless (Y&r) during the Monday, July 28 show when his character, Chance Chancellor, was killed after an explosive showdown with Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) psychotic, yet loyal, assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba).

With that said, the good news is, Floyd is heading to Days of Our Lives (Dool) and will be seen to soapy viewers as of April 2026 (because the show films several months ahead of time), as the Chad Dimera recast. The even better news is that Floyd posted a highly entertaining video on social media bidding adieu to the CBS soap, shortly after his final episode aired.

Connor Floyd’s ‘Goodbye’ Ig Post

Posted to the Beastie Boys, “B-Boys Makin’ With The Freak Freak”, as background music, Floyd’s video started with a selfie-like pose, as the actor, curiously, looked into the camera and ‘wiped’ the lens.

Conner Floyd Leaves Y&r After Dramatic On‑Screen Death
Conner Floyd
Conner Floyd checked out of CBS’s The Young and the Restless on 28 July 2025, concluding his tenure as Detective Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV after nearly four years on the daytime drama. The episode closed with Chance taking a fatal bullet while attempting to disarm gunman Carter during a hostage standoff in France, a storyline decision that permanently removed the Chancellor heir from Genoa City.

Floyd assumed the role in November 2021, replacing Donny Boaz and becoming the twelfth actor to play the character since his 1988 introduction. On Instagram he posted a behind the scenes montage, calling the experience “a blessing” and signing off with “Detective Chancellor, over and out.” Viewers voiced anger across social platforms, arguing that eliminating the last member of the Chancellor dynasty undermines the soap’s history.

Floyd later said the hero’s death felt “poetic” because Chance always put others first, even if filming the goodbye left...

Y&r’s Chance Is Dead, But Actor Conner Floyd Deserved Better
Image
Chance Chancellor went out a hero on The Young and the Restless, risking his own life to save Cane and taking a bullet while struggling with Carter for his gun. In the process, the Genoa City cop is dead, but actor Conner Floyd deserved better.

Chance: Always on the Sidelines

Floyd, who’d played Chance since 2021, was one of many in a long revolving door of actors hired to play the good guy character. After taking over the role, he had a succession of stop-and-start storylines, the show never quite figuring out how to use him to his full potential.

During Floyd’s time on Y&R, Chance spent most of his time on the sidelines, only being brought to the forefront when there was a crime to solve. He was on the scene to investigate Phyllis’ (Michelle Stafford) “death,” Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder, and, lastly, Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) horrific demise.

Y&r’s Risky Moves: Why Did Damian, Cole & Chance Meet Such Fates?
Image
On the July 29 episode of The Young and the Restless, Lily called Nate to tell him that Damian was dead. Nate wanted to know how… and he wanted to know why. We want to know why, too. And not just about Damian. We want to know why about Cole and Chance, too.

Damian’s Buildup

Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was brought on with such a massive buildup. For weeks, all we heard was “Damian, Damian, Damian.” We even got a fake Damian fake-out with Holden (Nathan Owens).

And then we finally met him. And then he finally reunited with his mother, Amy (Valarie Pettiford). And then he met his new brother, Nate (Sean Dominic). And then he started a fledgling romance with Lily (Christel Khalil).

We realize that things happen randomly in real life, but they do not happen randomly in fiction. If this was the plan all along, we have...

Y&r Spoilers: Billy’s Bravado Alienates Jack – Adam’s Loyalty Pays Off
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was sure of himself.

So much so that he didn’t consult his brother and sole backer of Abbott Communications before making a deal with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Billy was certain that he could woo his estranged quasi-brother, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). Billy was initially contacted by Cane, who was posing as Aristotle Dumas, with an offer to regain control of Chancellor.

But the momentous events that transpired on Cane’s estate in the South of France appear to have dashed Billy’s latest gamble. Three deaths rocked Y&R, with two of them impacting various characters.

Aristotle Dumas Was A Mirage

Billy spoke with the man he believed to be Aristotle this summer. Viewers wondered why Thompson’s character didn’t recognize Cane’s voice during that conversation, with Billy claiming an apparent lack of focus at the time.

What Happened on Y&r Today? Cane Faces Lily’s Fury Over the Deadly Train Plot
Image
The Young and the Restless recap for July 29 featured Cane dealing with the aftermath of Carter’s violent breakdown, Amanda urging him to regroup, and Lily shutting the door on him for good. Claire told Kyle about her father’s death and prepared a quiet memorial with her mother. Nate learned that his brother Damian was murdered and reeled from the shock.

Cane Refuses to Let Go

Cane (Billy Flynn) sat in the surveillance room, still in shock, reliving the shooting that ended in bloodshed. Amanda (Mishael Morgan) stopped by to check on him. The police had concluded their investigation, backed up by the surveillance footage, and she assured him he was in the clear. But Cane didn’t feel that way. Jill lost her grandson, and he couldn’t stop blaming himself.

Amanda reminded him he had been good to Carter (Vincent Stalba). None of this was his fault.

Violence, murder, and mayhem were abundant on Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) private estate in France. First, Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) was killed.

Conner Floyd Exits ‘The Young And The Restless’ As Legacy Character He Portrayed Is Killed Off Soap Opera
Image
After a four-year run as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV on “The Young and the Restless,” actor Conner Floyd saw his character killed off in dramatic fashion during the Monday, July 28 episode of the long-running drama series.

In story, while still at the chateau, Chance swooped in to save both Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), whose lives were in danger after it was revealed that Carter (Vincent Stalba) had killed Damian. In an attempt to escape punishment for his crime, he took Lily hostage, but when things reached their breaking point, he let her go, only to fire his gun with a bullet striking Chance directly in his chest.

During Chance’s final moments, he died in Cane’s arms, a poignant plot point, both from a story perspective and also a real-life one as, at one time, Cane (then played by Daniel Goddard) assumed the identity of Chance’s father,...
