Disgraced RuPaul's Drag Race Season 2 winner Tyra Sanchez has come under fire for the distasteful jokes he made after the death of RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne.

Tyra, who now goes under the name James Ross, reignited his online feud with The Vivienne five years later — mere hours after her death was announced to the public.

As fans paid tribute to The Vivienne, real name James Lee Williams, James Ross used the moment to circle back to a previous feud they shared, as reported by Collider.

In July 2020, The Vivienne called out Tyra on X. “Bet Tyra was fuming when she realized Netflix spoiled the win, too,” the Welsh-born drag queen noted, in reference to her series of the franchise appearing on Netflix...

Tyra Sanchez was one notable exception, however.

Yet it doesn’t compare to the fumes of the crematorium. https://t.co/DGSYkRovzJ— Tyra (@thatdamntyra) January 5, 2025

Tyra retweeted a tweet by The Vivienne from back in 2020, in which they said they "bet Tyra [was] fuming" over Netflix having "spoiled" a win.

How ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ Cleared The Path For BBC Comedy ‘Smoggie Queens’
Image
Exclusive: Creatives behind BBC comedy Smoggie Queens have credited RuPaul’s Drag Race UK with clearing the path for more shows about queer communities across the nation.

Phil Dunning, who created and stars in the Hat Trick-produced show alongside the likes of Peaky Blinders star Charlotte Riley and Mark Benton, said a decade ago the series about drag queens in the north east of England may have struggled to get a greenlight.

Now into its sixth season, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK launched in 2019 and has consistently been one of BBC Three’s top-rated shows, catapulting the careers of the likes of The Vivienne and Baga Chipz and carving out space in the national conversation about drag. The majority of its contestants come from outside of London.

“Drag Race has done amazing things for the queer community,” Dunning told Deadline. “It’s shone such a spotlight on drag and made us think...

Centered at 2022's DragCon Los Angeles, the biggest, international fan favorites, fire-starters, and shade-throwers from RuPaul's Drag Race re-unite for a live, behind-the-scenes, tell-all. "There are laughs, fights, nostalgia, insider stories, tears, and even some never before heard confessions," according to World Of Wonder. The Vivienne in RuPaul's Drag Race UK (2019)
Jinkx Monsoon and The Vivienne's Feud Comes to a Head in This RuPaul's Drag Race Sneak Peek
The Vivienne in RuPaul's Drag Race UK (2019)
This is certainly not RuPaul's Best Friend Race. The simmering feud between Jinkx Monsoon and The Vivienne further heats up in this exclusive sneak peek of the June 24 episode of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7. After The Vivienne blocked Jinkx in the June 17 episode—meaning she cannot earn a legends star next week, even if she wins the challenge—Jinkx saunters back into the werk room holding the golden plunger and admits, "I feel a little irritated." The Vivienne, who was blocked by Jinkx the week prior and was therefore unable to earn a star for winning the challenge, says she understands the feeling. "If you feel irritated, then I'm f--king furious because I...

‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race All-Stars 7×06’ Review
Image
Last week’s episode saw the queen write and perform a drag-uation speech that simultaneously entertained and inspired the next generation of drag superstars. This challenge saw Raja claim her first badge after her cult leader infused speech with Jinkx (as a witchy character) also being at the top. As a teacher, I personally thought that Trinity the Tuck’s speech about struggling and having to drop out of school to look after a very ill family member was very powerful. The message of Trinity being forced to leave but still ending up doing a job she is totally passionate about is so important and there are still many people who need to use this story as an inspiration for their own life. Regardless, Raja and Jinkx battled against one another who the two very different performance styles being showcased which eventually ended up with Jinkx winning so that she...

‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race All-Stars 7×05’ Review
Image
An unexpected gem of this season has been the (not-so) secret alliance between the co-winners of All-Stars Four, Trinity the Tuck and Monet X-Change. The two queens were under the impression that their fellow competitors would assume they have a professional rivalry with one another as they were forced to split the crown and so Trinity and Monet teaming up would be very unexpected. However, in the previous episode, these two queens decided to try and recruit new members into their alliance which severely backfired. In an attempt to find new members they spoke to front runner Jinkx Monsoon, the ever formidable Shea Coulee and winner of seven twelve Jaida Essence Hall; which means that now over half of the competitors in this season are aware of this ‘secret’ alliance but no new members have actually joined the group. After last week’s improvised, fairytale-inspired courtroom drama challenge was...
