Conservatives simply cannot believe Rep. Katie Porter (D-ca) dared to wear a costume on Halloween

The only person in Congress who should be angry with this is Senator Patrick Leahy (D-vt) for not thinking of it first.

One week ago, hours after President Trump declared a national emergency, Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-tx) announced plans to introduce a resolution to block it. “I ask all members of Congress — Democrat and Republican — to support this joint resolution to terminate President Trump’s unconstitutional national emergency declaration to build his border wall,” Castro tweeted, along with a draft of the bill. “It sets a dangerous precedent and steals congressional authority. Will you sign on?”

If there’s one thing that binds the Trump universe together, it’s the oppressive stench of shady activity. This applies to those closest to the president, as well those orbiting him from a distance, like Rep. Chris Collins (R-ny), a back-bench lawmaker who in February 2016 became the first member of Congress to officially endorse Trump’s campaign. On Wednesday morning, Collins surrendered to authorities after being indicted on a number of charges related to securities fraud. Central among the allegations is the lawmaker’s involvement with Australian pharmaceutical company Innate Immunotherapeutics Limited.
