Backed by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Films, “Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs” has its Rajasthan royals bickering and scheming their way out of a stretched eight-episode series in the fictional city of Bilkaner. Set largely in and around the gorgeously intricate testament of Rajput architecture, the JioHotstar series attempts to be too many things and make too little of a mark. The series’s imaginative idea for the name of a fictional Rajasthani city is to add an ‘L’ to ‘Bikaner.’ Sadly, with its part Agatha Christie and part “Game of Thrones” inspired plot, “Kull” has to take that same ‘L’ when it comes to producing a coherently consistent story. The series shines only in patches, with the lead actors doing the bulk of the praiseworthy work.

Actor Amey Wagh, who is playing the antagonist in web-series ‘Asur 2’, expressed how magical it was to see actor Arshad Warsi changing moods in an instant. Amey said: “There’s a scene where Rasul speaks a lot. I remember the whole set being silent that day. It was one take, and we got it. I didn’t talk much on this set because it is a crucial character. I was starstruck by Arshad Sir. He is a chameleon.”

“He’ll be cracking jokes one minute, and the moment he hears “action,” he immediately gets into his character. On the other hand, I stayed in my zone throughout,” he added.

Amey stated how difficult it was for him to get out of his dark character.

“I didn’t allow my character to mess with my head. But yes, I did stay in the zone because it is a challenging character.”

Gaurav Shukla, the creator and showrunner of the recently released second season of the streaming show ‘Asur’, has shared that the team didn’t establish a traditional writers’ room for the second season until the overarching story was locked.

The second season of the show was released after a gap of three years because of the pandemic. Directed by Oni Sen, ‘Asur 2’ stars Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, Amey Wagh, Meiyang Chang, and Gaurav Arora.

Talking about the challenges, Gaurav told Ians: “The pressure we encountered was both internal and external. It came from the platform, the actors, and even from within ourselves. We were determined to surpass the achievements of season 1, and it took some time for us to develop the central plot. Additionally, writing during the lockdown presented its own set of challenges, as our writer’s room was primarily utilised for troubleshooting rather than full-fledged brainstorming sessions.

Kasturi Banerjjee, popularly known for Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, Kya Kasoor Hai Amla ka, Punch Beat, Kapoor’s on Alt Balaji, Kundali Bhagya, City of Dreams Season 3 and many more, has come up with her new web series ‘Asur 2’.

The psychological thriller stars Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, Amey Wagh, Meiyang Chang, Abhishek Chauhan and Gaurav Arora in the lead characters.

Her character Zoya is a psychotherapist who is warm, empathetic, loving yet very professional! She is very honest and true to her job for which she may appear strict and unthoughtful!

Talking about what made her say yes for the second season, Kasturi reveals, “I had seen season 1 and who wouldn’t want to be a part of this epic drama with suspense crime mythology. There was no point to say no to this amazing web series.”

She further continues, “I absolutely loved working with such talented people.

Actor Barun Sobti, who is gearing up for the second season of his hit streaming show ‘Asur’, has said that the upcoming season will delve into national propaganda. Following the events of season 1, the hunt for Asur takes a toll on everyone involved.

Season 2 will see the Cbi racing against time to gather evidence and track down a serial killer. Set against the mystical backdrop of Varanasi, the narrative subtly integrates mythological elements.

Apparently, in the film, actress Kriti Kharbanda's character gets possessed by a demon after which she screams out the 'F' word a total of thirty five (35) times. However, the Cbfc has cut this sequence down by half, while at the same time the makers of the film have replaced the other half with another word. Confirming the same, Mukesh Bhatt says, "Yes Kriti's character does say the 'F' word 35 times, however that has been cut down by the Cbfc to half and the word has been replaced by something else.

Coming from the Bhatt camp is the fourth installment of the horror franchise Raaz Reboot and a glimpse of the chills in the film was already seen in the trailer. The film, which was currently at the CBFC, has been passed with an 'A' certification and no cuts.

Thrilled about the decision, producer Mukesh Bhatt maintained that the film hasn't been made with intention of titillating anyone and that it is all about good content. Expressing his happiness over the CBFC certification, he also stated that when a woman member of the board complimented him about the film, he was extremely touched because it came from a lady for an adult film, which is rare. On the other hand, Vikram Bhatt who has directed the film too added that an 'A' certificate is important because whenever there is a 'U/A' certificate people tend to believe that there is nothing in the film.

Shooting for Bhushan Kumar’s ‘Raaz Reboot’ was literally a chilling experience for Gaurav Arora. The actor shares that for the Vikram Bhatt directed film they shot in temperatures as low as -18 degrees that gave the entire cast and crew chills of the cold kinds.

Gaurav says, “It was the first time that I actually experienced snow fall and I loved every minute of it until it came to shooting.”

Elaborating further he adds that they were dressed for the scene and not for the cold. “The scene required me to smile in a certain way. And midway of the shot I realised that my face wouldn’t move and was frozen with a smile. I had a lock jaw because of the freezing cold. So yes it was actually a chilling experience,” smiles the actor.

While there have been several cases of tantrums and arguments before, Gaurav Arora lost his cool over something else during the shoot of Raaz Reboot in Romania. The actor who was busy shooting an intense sequence got into a scuffle of sorts on the sets of the film. It so happened that Gaurav Arora, who was in the midst of the scene, was interrupted by onlookers who were passing lewd comments. It was a crucial sequence for the film and the actor was shooting with co-star Kirti Kharbanda. Also, the time wasn't in their favour and the scene had to be completed before the day ends. As the actor tried to concentrate on shooting amidst all the pressure, the comment session of the onlookers left him miffed. The upset actor initially decided to dismiss the situation peacefully but when his attempts failed and the gang continued with their misbehavior, Gaurav lost his cool.

Emraan Hashmi, whose latest film Azhar released today, is all set to do yet another Bhatt camp film. The actor recently stated that Murder 4 is definitely on the cards.

Emraan Hashmi, who is currently promoting his cricket biopic Azhar, confirmed that though he isn't aware of the details of the film, Murder 4 is currently in its initial stages as the script is under process. Besides the fact that Emraan Hashmi is the blue eyed boy of the Bhatt camp, the first installment of Murder alongside Mallika Sherawat had boosted up his career as a Bollywood star. He also went on to star in the sequel to the same but the third installment of Murder had Randeep Hooda in the lead.

But before Murder 4, Emraan Hashmi will be seen in Raaz Reboot, which also features Kriti Kharbanda and Gaurav Arora in prominent roles.

Vikram Bhatt’s upcoming urban thriller is the first Bollywood film to have complete English tracks

While most films today opt for Hinglish lyrics when it comes to their Original Sound Tracks (Ost), in a first of sorts, Vikram Bhatt’s upcoming urban thriller ‘Love Games’ has as many as seven OSTs in English. What’s more, Vikram has also turned lyricist with the film and all the English tracks have been penned down by him.

When contacted, Vikram confirms saying, “It’s the first time that any Indian film has a complete English Ost. So there are seven English tracks apart from five Hindi songs. Vishesh Films has a long history of firsts. So yes this is another first added to the list.”
