Dexter: Resurrection Episode 4 saw the introduction of 4 new sinister serial killers. Episode 4, titled “Call Me Red”, aired on July 25, 2025, where Dexter (Michael C. Hall) infiltrates a dinner party. At the dinner, we are introduced to Krysten Ritter’s Mia or Lady Vengeance, Eric Stonestreet’s Al or Rapunzel, Neil Patrick Harris’ Lowell or the Tattoo Collector, and David Dastmalchian’s Gareth or the Gemini killer (via Vulture).
Lady Vengeance, as the name suggests, hunts down sexual predators; Rapunzel or the ponytail guy has an inclination toward picking victims with ponytails because of unresolved mommy issues; the Tattoo collector collects the tatted skins of his victims, and the Gemini Killer is a Zodiac analog, and by far the most serial killer-esque of the lot.

“Talk about a killer debut,” nine out of 10 news stories on this topic will begin.
The Dexter: Resurrection premiere drew 3.1 million global cross-platform viewers in its first three days, representing a 46% larger audience than what the Dexter: Original Sin prequel series opened to last December.
The return of grown-up Dexter also delivered the most-streamed premiere in Showtime history, putting up 44% bigger numbers than Original Sin, and marking a 76% improvement on Dexter: New Blood (circa November 2021).
TVLine readers gave the premiere an average grade of “A”; get Michael C. Hall’s take on the surprise cameos and see what Jack Alcott (who plays Harrison) said about the season’s gruesome first kill.
“Dexter: Resurrection delivered an electrifying performance that not only rekindled a fiercely devoted fanbase but also captivated a new generation of viewers — shattering records with Showtime’s most-streamed premiere ever,” Chris McCarthy, President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, said in a statement. “This triumph underscores the lasting impact of this iconic franchise, brought to life by Michael C. Hall’s unparalleled portrayal and [showrunner] Clyde Phillips’ visionary creative leadership.”
A continuation of New Blood, Resurrection takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan (played by Hall) takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Alcott) gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City determined to find him and make things right.
Closure, though, won’t come easy. “When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast,” the series synopsis reads. “As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined – and that the only way out is together.”
Dexter: Resurrection also stars Uma Thurman as Charley, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry, and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater. Guest stars include Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet and David Dastmalchian, as Lowell, Mia, Al and Gareth.

Thomas Haden Church began his acting career as the lovable airplane mechanic Lowell Mather on the beloved ‘90s NBC sitcom Wings. As Phil on Netflix comedy Tires season two, he’s the one (gently) bossing the grease monkeys around, including his on-screen son Shane Gillis.
Church is happy to talk about being on both ends of the socket wrench, though really he’s at his happiest relaying the cattle count on his Texas ranch. It’s all good — I mostly wanted to talk about Tombstone (1993).
How aware of Tires season one were you?
Not at all. And I had a connection with an executive at Rough House Pictures, Danny McBride’s company (and a Tires production company), because I had another project that they were considering doing like three years ago — something that my partner and I had written. Dexter’s showrunner and executive producer, Clyde Phillips, has great news about another franchise spin-off, which is centered on one of the show's greatest villains. The Trinity Killer is that villain, portrayed by the iconic John Lithgow, who was introduced in Season 4 of the original Showtime series. Lithgow is expected to return in some capacityin the new spin-off, but it remains unclear when the show will be set since the killer murdered people for decades. Just when we thought Dexter was finally over, it turns out the Dark Passenger isn’t done yet. After years of following his strict code, Dexter broke his own rules—and paid the price. In Dexter: New Blood, we saw him cross a line he had never crossed before, and his own son ended it by pulling the trigger. That felt like the final chapter. But now, against all odds, the story continues.
The second sequel, Dexter: Resurrection, brings Michael C. Hall back once again, and if the first trailer is anything to go by, this new season won’t just focus on Dexter’s return—it’ll also revisit some of the darkest killers the series has ever introduced. Some are back as haunting memories, while others may play a bigger role in what’s to come.

Dexter's series finale was widely considered a disappointment, and while Dexter: New Blood set out to make things right in 2021, it too proved a little hit-and-miss.
Fans didn't want to see Dexter Morgan die, and plans for a follow-up revolving around his son, Harrison (with Dexter likely taking on a role similar to Harry's in the original show), were scrapped. After last year's prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, Dex rises from the dead in Dexter: Resurrection.
The first trailer has been released (via FearHQ.com), and we see Batista questioning Dexter about being the Bay Harbor Butcher. The serial killer escapes and heads to New York, where Harrison also now resides. As Batista attempts to help steer him away from heading down the same dark path as his father, Dexter meets with a group of serial killers...who we're sure he'll eventually kill one by one!

It turns out that Dexter Morgan is not alone in his proclivities. In fact, when he lands in New York City, he finds himself among an Avengers-style gathering of serial killers, and decides to lean into his dark passenger.
At least that’s what the trailer for sequel series Dexter: Resurrection implied when it dropped on Saturday at Ccxp Mexico City. The footage gives fans of the Dexter franchise their biggest peek yet into what showrunner Clyde Phillips and star Michael C. Hall have in store when they resurrect Dexter Morgan this summer.
Hall reprises his role as the titular serial killer for the sequel series, which is releasing after the first season of origin story Dexter: Original Sin. Sufjan Stevens dug deep into his archives while reflecting on the anniversary of Carrie & Lowell, his stirring seventh studio album released exactly 10 years ago today. The musician will release an expanded edition of the record on May 30, but his starting point isn’t one of the original 11 songs on the album. Instead, Stevens rediscovered the “Mystery of Love” with the sobering demo of the song he later released in 2017.
This version of “Mystery of Love” is more intensely present than the original, which coated Stevens’ voice in thick layers of haze.

It's been three years since we last saw Michael C. Hall as our beloved vigilante serial killer in Dexter: New Blood, and while he made a brief appearance at the beginning of Original Sin, Dexter: Resurrection will feature his full-time return to the character first made famous in the novels by Jeff Lindsay. This time around, Hall will be joined by a lot of fresh names, but we now know of another familiar face from the original series that will also be along for the ride: Jimmy Smits.
Per Deadline, Smits will reprise his role of Miguel Prado, despite Dexter killing him in the Season 3 episode "The Damage a Man Can Do." At first a friend to Dexter who knew of his Dark Passenger, Prado's own lust for revenge clouded his decision-making as things progressed, leading to the Assistant District Attorney finding himself wrapped in plastic on Dexter's kill table.

For eight seasons and 96 episodes, from 2006 to 2013, the series Dexter ran on Showtime, telling the story of Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who is also a vigilante serial killer. Clyde Phillips was showrunner on Dexter for the first four seasons, and in 2021 he and Showtime brought us the revival series Dexter: New Blood… which, for a time, also seemed to be the end of it all. But that’s not the case. Showtime has tasked Phillips with continue to build up the Dexter franchise, with the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin premiering back in December and a New Blood follow-up called Dexter: Resurrection heading for a June premiere. Filming on Dexter: Resurrection is currently underway – and Deadline has just revealed that David Magidoff, who played Teddy Reed from the Iron Lake Police Department in Dexter: New Blood, will be playing the character again...

Dark Match, from Wolfcop director Lowell Dean, is a wild, blood-soaked mashup of indie wrestling and satanic horror that feels like it was birthed in the mind of a pro wrestling fan who fell asleep watching films like The Green Room and Mandy after eating an entire batch of mommas special brownies. Set in the gloriously grimy 1980s, Dark Match sees a ragtag crew of small-time territory wrestlers against a cult led by none other than wrestling legend Chris Jericho, chewing scenery like it’s a steel chair in a No Dq match. Does it deliver a piledriver of fun, or does it tap out under the weight of its own ambitions? Let’s step into the squared circle and discuss.
The premise...

You might know him from his Marvel and DC roles, but David Dastmalchian has been steadily working on building his career outside of the realms of superhero movies, and several of his latest projects confirm that he is doing a great job.
We don’t know whether that influenced the casting decision, but his work in the horror movie Late Night with the Devil proved that he could tackle morbid and horror roles with ease, and in light of that, we are happy to confirm that he is joining the cast of Dexter: Resurrection in a guest role!
As Dexter: New Blood is gearing up for a summer release, Dastmalchian has been cast in the role of Gareth, a role that is enigmatic as of the time of writing. But the Dexter universe has been growing significantly and we are thrilled about that.
