Rhea Ripley’s Wrestlemania 41 Streak Continues With New Las Vegas Stint
Image
Rhea Ripley made her first appearance in the WWE at Mae Young Classic 2017. However, it was just a taste of what awaited her. Ripley made headlines when she and her Nxt Women’s team defeated Team Raw and Team SmackDown in 2019 at Survivor Series.

Then came the year 2020, and everything changed for Ripley. She was featured in WrestleMania 36 and has been a part of this event every year, making her mark. It is a bit unusual for an Nxt wrestler to secure a continuous WrestleMania appearance without a good duration spent in the WWE.

Rhea Ripley Continues Her WrestleMania Streak

Her performance has played a major role, and her strength makes her a perfect superstar for events like WrestleMania. At WrestleMania 41, she will face Iyo Sky, the WWE women’s champion, and Bianca Belair in a triple-threat title match. She will now hold a streak of 6 consecutive appearances in WrestleMania.

Rhea Ripley: Fighting Men in WWE is the “Next step for women’s division”
Image
Rhea Ripley is the “Mami” of the Women’s Division. There is no one like her. Her presentation is unconventional and people fawn over her because of this. She is the “strong goth mommy” stereotype personified.

Younger audiences relate to that persona of Ripley. It does help that she is very attractive and has boatloads of charisma. Ripley is ripped enough to beat some of the men on the WWE roster. Hence, the creative did allow some wrestlers to get beat by Ripley, which she endorsed.

Rhea Ripley has squared off several times with her male counterparts

Inter-gender wrestling has not been seen since the WWE’s Attitude Era, when the late, great Chyna would enter the ring and brawl with her male opponents, even winning the prized Intercontinental Championship in 1999.

WWE’s women’s division has always been criticized, and a significant percentage of wrestling enthusiasts feel that women’s wrestling is not as entertaining as men’s. Much of this can be agreed upon, as World Wrestling Entertainment is on The Road to WrestleMania 41, with several storylines that fans are heavily invested in.

At the same time, when we look at the women’s section, things seem to lack the same build-up and big moments that will make fans look forward to their match. Thus, making fans hold a steadfast belief that women’s wrestling can never catch up to the fraction of greatness that the men’s division has achieved in the last decade.

However, Ted Dibiase does not agree with the stans, stating how the female wrestlers of today are staging performances that redeem the division and are giving hope for a brighter future.

Match #1: Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai def. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Dakota Kai made her in-ring return, teaming with fellow Damage Ctrl member Iyo Sky to take on Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Rodriguez took control in the early goings, planting Kai across the ring post outside the ring. Sky, however, took the sky, literally, to punish Morgan and Rodriguez. Morgan and Rodriguez hit a scintillating Assisted Oblivion from the top rope onto Sky, but The Genius of the Sky kept fighting. Morgan connected with Oblivion to Kai, but Sky saved the match, prompting a “This is Awesome” from the WWE Universe in Nashville. Sky won a back-and-forth between her and Morgan, hitting...

Welcome to this review of the Royal Rumble 2025, right here on Nerdly. I’m Phil Wheat and we have not only Two Rumble matches to look forward to but also two title matches! Let’s get into it.

Match #1: Women’s Royal Rumble – Winner: Charlotte Flair The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Charlotte Flair won the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble in her grand return to WWE, last eliminating Roxanne Perez to seal the victory. The match began with two former Women’s World Champions, as Iyo Sky entered at the unenviable No. 1 spot, with Liv Morgan entering at the equally unlucky No. 2, setting up an early showdown between two of WWE’s best. The ring quickly filled up as Nxt’s Roxanne Perez (No. 3), Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria (No. 4) and Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green (No. 5) all entered the fray, only for the four...

Wardrobe Malfunction and Botches at Royal Rumble 2025: WWE Narrowly Escaped a Few Disasters
Image
Last night marked the commencement of the road to WrestleMania, as WWE’s pay-per-view event for February, Royal Rumble, took place in Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis. With only four matches booked for the show, two being the Royal Rumble matches for men and women, it was stacked as it set things in place for WM41.

A still from Royal Rumble 2025. Credits: WWE

The event kicked off strong with the Women’s Rumble match, where Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan made the fans cheer for them. However, the show soon became a topic of conversation on social media as it featured several mishaps.

This year’s Royal Rumble was arguably one of the most unpredictable ones; it featured some controversy, where fans were visibly upset with the winners of both men’s and women’s Royal Rumble. However, things could have gone south as they narrowly avoided several disasters.

WWE's New Star Luchador Explained: Who Is Penta?
Image
WWE just signed someone from their competition. For the past few weeks, WWE has been airing teasers in between episodes of Monday Night Raw, featuring the number zero with a slash across. These teasers were synonymous with no clear indicator as to what or who these teasers could be about.

As of Monday Night Raw's premiere on Netflix, WWE has now confirmed that these teasers are about their newest signee, Penta. For weeks, Penta's name floated around in rumors and speculation regarding who these teasers could be about, but the latest teaser showcasing Penta's name and logo confirms this is about the former World Champion.

Penta is best known for his work in All Elite Wrestling, a wrestling company geared toward older audiences often framed as WWE's direct competition. Penta's public and controversial exit from Aew has gifted WWE its newest commodity.

Who Is Penta, WWE's Newest Luchador? A...

10 Best WWE Matches of 2024
Image
2024 was a gift to wrestling fans for many members of the WWE Universe. It was effectively the year in which the company and its product worked its way back into the mainstream, thanks in large part to a monumental Netflix deal and the return of Hollywood superstar, The Rock. The year offered some incredible moments for WWE spectators, but it also offered some incredible matches.

The year of 2024 gave audiences too many matches to choose from in the Match of the Year department, many of which just barely missed the cut. Liv Morgan vs. Iyo Sky, WarGames, Nxt's Iron Survivor, Friday Night SmackDown's Triple Threat Ladder Match, Ludwig Kaiser vs. Sheamus vs. Bron Breakker, and Randy Orton's match with Gunther in Berlin are all examples of honorable mentions. However, the matches that did happen to leave an imprint in the minds of the WWE Universe are ones that are truly must-see.

Competing for the first time since standing up to his former friend and mentor, Otis went toe-to-toe with Chad Gable. Otis bullied Gable with his immense power, beating him from pillar to post. Gable, however, used his cunning to take out Otis’ legs. After Alpha Academy’s Maxxine Dupri and American Made’s Ivy Nile brawled on the outside, Gable used the fracas to lock in the Ankle Lock on his former protege. Otis weathered the pain and...

Winners & Losers From Last Night's Monday Night Raw
Image
The final Monday Night Raw on Cable Television before WWE moves its signature show to Netflix next week was one rammed full of incident. Cm Punk and Seth Rollins had an all-timer of a mic battle that simply has to be seen to be believed. Both men were left snarling at each other as Raw went off the air. No punches were thrown. Just molten hot rage and personal, below-the-belt jibes.

Elsewhere, Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria will compete for the first Women's Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus returned to attack Ludwig Kaiser, The New Day were a nuisance all evening and landed a match with Rey Mysterio and the Lwo. Damian Priest and The War Raiders defeated The Judgment Day, and Chad Gable's renaissance continued with a win over Otis.

The New Day opened Raw to a chorus of boos. Jey Uso took over on the mic, before being interrupted...

After she and Alba Frye escaped Natalya’s double Sharpshooter, Iyo Sky took to the air to take out her opponents at ringside. In a battle on the turnbuckle moments later, The Queen of Harts sent Fyre to the canvas with a German suplex. In doing so, though, she opened herself up to an Over the Moonsault by The Genius of the Sky that gave Sky the first-round victory and allowed her to advance in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

The Scottish Warrior picked up a major victory over Sami Zayn to kick off the action at the first Saturday Night’s Main Event in 16 years. Zayn immediately brought the fight to Drew McIntyre, flustering the former WWE Champion, who responded by tossing The Honorary Uce onto the announce table in spectacularly brutal fashion. McIntyre went for White Noise, but Zayn pulled off a remarkable counter and hit a sunset flip powerbomb that nearly won the match. Jax and Bayley started the match, renewing their rivalry from the summer. With Team Ripley earning the advantage, Naomi entered the cage next and celebrated her birthday by teaming with Bayley as they tried to take down Jax. Jax, however, literally flushed her competition by using a toilet seat to inflict damage. Jax’s toilet seat usage backfired, as Naomi used the seat to give a stinkface to Jax. SmackDown delivered one of the best segments of WWE TV this year, as Paul Heyman and Cm Punk both returned. Punk will be the fifth man at Survivor Series, teaming with Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, and The Usos to take on Solo Sikoa's Bloodline. It was a night filled with excitement, that also saw Jade Cargill put through a car windscreen by a mystery assailant, with Chelsea Green capitalizing on Bianca Belair rushing to her partner's aid, by pinning Bianca Davenport and going to the next round of the Women US title tournament.

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens came face-to-face in an unmissable verbal battle, as their feud continued to escalate. DIY members Tommaso Ciampa and Jonny Gargano drifted further apart, the former being pinned by Montez Ford, as the Street Profits looked set to be the new contenders for the Motor City Machine Guns Tag Team Championships. Match #1: Women’s No. 1 Contender Battle Royal – Winner: Iyo Sky The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

An historic Women’s Battle Royal in Saudi Arabia came down to Lyra Valkyria, Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and Iyo Sky. After Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez pulled Belair and Cargill out of the ring to the floor to cause a double elimination, the irate WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions chased them into the crowd. Then in a final battle on the apron, Sky hit a beautiful German suplex to finally eliminate Valkyria and earn the right to challenge Morgan for the Women’s World Title.

‘WWE Crown Jewel 2024’ PPV Review

Welcome to this review of WWE Crown Jewel 2024, right here on Nerdly… The controversy over this event seems to die down with each and every event passing and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Anyway, let’s see what happened during this year’s show, which was marked by the champ versus champ matches for the newly-minted Crown Jewel belts!

Match #1: The Bloodline def. Roman Reigns and The Usos The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Solo Sikoa earned the biggest pinfall of his career by earning the three-count over Roman Reigns and anointing himself as the one true Tribal Chief of The Bloodline. The Usos kicked things off by bringing back their signature tandem offense, but it wasn’t long before The Samoan Werewolf brought the fight back to them, leading to a tense standoff. With The Og Bloodline in firm control, Jey rebuffed the...

4 Winners & 2 Losers From Last Night's Monday Night Raw

WWE remained in Saudi Arabia after Crown Jewel 2024 for a pre-taped edition of Monday Night Raw, where Damian Priest emerged as Gunther's next opponent for the World Heavyweight Championship. He did so by winning a Fatal Four Way against Sheamus, Dominik Mysterio, and Seth Rollins, who was taken out of commission by Bronson Reed giving him a Tsunami through a table. Dragon Lee defeated Chad Gable to pour more misery on American Made after Ivy Nile distracted her teammate by fighting Zelina Vega, and the War Raiders continued their winning streak with a victory over The New Day, as Kofi and Xavier Woods' problems continued.

Liv Morgan continued her hot streak by eliminating Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill from a Number One Contender's Battle Royal for her championship, with Iyo Sky becoming the new challenger for the Women's World Championship. The Wyatt Sicks released disturbing footage of a kidnapped Miz,...
