Fans of Bob Odenkirk are in for a treat. Universal Pictures just released a brand new trailer for Nobody 2, the action-packed sequel to the surprise hit from 2021. Along with the trailer, the studio also announced that tickets are officially on sale for the movie, which is hitting theaters on August 15, 2025.
In this new chapter, Bob Odenkirk is back as Hutch Mansell, the regular dad who’s not so regular. As some fans like to say, he’s basically “your dad’s favorite John Wick knockoff.”
The story picks up four years after the first movie. Hutch is still stuck owing $30 million to the Russian mob. To pay off his debt, he’s been taking on hit jobs nonstop. But even assassins need a break sometimes.

Bob Odenkirk will always be known for his roles in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, but a few years ago, he starred in an action thriller that took him to a new level of stardom. Odenkirk first turned up to crack skulls as Hutch Mansell in 2021’s Nobody, the John Wick-esque action thriller that grossed $57 million against a modest $16 million budget. Now, Hutch is back for a tropical vacation in Nobody 2, and Collider is thrilled to partner with Universal Pictures to exclusively unveil the Nobody 2 4Dx poster ahead of the film’s August 15 release date. The new poster shows Hutch doing what he does best: bashing heads even in the most unexpected environments with the most unconventional tools — this time, it’s punching someone in the face while wearing a duck mask. Who else but Hutch?

It’s been more than four years since Bob Odenkirk proved he wasn’t Nobody with his thrilling and hilarious action film, and now Universal Pictures has released the best look yet at its sequel. Bob Odenkirk is back at the unlikely assassin, and this time he’s on holiday. The Nobody 2 trailer has just landed.
‘National Lampoons European Vacation meets John Wick’ is how we imagine the team behind Nobody pitched a sequel to the 2021 action flick to Universal. It’s a solid pitch, not least because many love National Lampoons European Vacation. And also because we secretly believe that John Wick is name-checked in every Hollywood meeting these days.
Whichever approach the team behind Nobody took, the pitch worked. Although honestly, the 2021 original pretty much spoke for itself when it comes to the desire for a sequel. Odenkirk made for a fun central character and the action sequences were great. Plus, Christopher Lloyd got some decent screentime too, so there was plenty to enjoy.
This time around, the follow-up is going down the classic sequel formula of transplanting the action somewhere exotic – kind of.

Following the success of 2021's Nobody, the Bob Odenkirk-led action film received a sequel. Now, his character, Hutch Mansell, is back.
Often compared with the John Wick franchise, Nobody stars Odenkirk as a seemingly ordinary family man. However, he is a former, trained assassin, and the previous film had him fighting against a vengeful crime lord. Universal Pictures has now released the first trailer for Nobody 2, which sees Hutch balancing family life on vacation, as well as fighting bad guys.
The beginning of the almost-three-minute-long clip shows Hutch fighting his enemies in an elevator, as teased by one of the first-look stills from the upcoming action film. It also features his wife, Becca (Connie Nielsen), complaining about how little time he spends with the family. So, they decide to take a vacation together. "Sometimes the most dangerous place for a dad is a family vacation," the film's logline reads.

In 2021, Bob Odenkirk played the family man, Hutch Mansell, who turned out to have a violent past in Nobody. The action film was a critical and commercial hit, so a sequel was greenlit.
The movie has officially unveiled the first look at Bob Odenkirk's return as Hutch, four years after the release of the first film. The image, released by ScreenRant as part of the Exclusive Summer 2025 Movie Preview, shows Hutch in an elevator, looking straight ahead with a bloody nose. However, the image teases he's not done fighting the bad guys.

A former trained assassin, the first look image shows him looking like an everyday person, except for the enemies who are recovering after a battle on the floor of the elevator. The people around him are tired and look defeated on the floor, while Hutch is still standing.

It’s almost time to get to know Nobody 2.
During its CinemaCon presentation at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon, Universal Pictures debuted a first look at the Bob Odenkirk-starrer from filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto (May the Devil Take You) and 87North.
The film finds the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul actor reprising his role as mild-mannered family man who is secretly a former government assassin. John Ortiz, Connie Nielsen, Sharon Stone, Christopher Lloyd and Colin Hanks round out the cast. The screenplay is by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Umair Aleem and Odenkirk.
The footage, which kicked off with a voiceover announcement in the theater that Odenkirk is “back to kick ass and take more names,” and the scenes that played exclusively for the Colosseum showed him doing just that. It opens with Odenkirk’s character kicking a bunch of asses in an elevator while at a convention.

In 2021, Nobody turned Bob Odenkirk from Saul Goodman to an action superstar and surprised quite a few people. Directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by John Wick screenwriter Derek Kolstad, Nobody tells the story of suburban dad Hutch Mansell, who had earlier spent his life in C.I.A., then settled down to live in the normal world.
The story of a supposedly ordinary family man revealing his assassin skills was loved by many. Nobody became a sleeper hit, and its tightly packed 92-minute runtime, along with incredible fight choreography, pushed Bob Odenkirk’s name as an action franchise star.

Nobody 2 finally has an official first look, several years after Bob Odenkirk beat up bad guys in the hit action film from 2021. After a former assassin turned family man, Hutch Mansell (Odenkirk) unleashed his unique skillset to protect his family last time around, the upcoming sequel will see him back in action and in the limelight. With a few new faces and an acclaimed director behind the camera, Nobody 2 already seems like a bigger and more ambitious endeavor.
Courtesy of Empire, a first-look of Odenkirk as Hutch has been unveiled, revealing the former assassin bloodied up once again and wielding a submachine gun. In Nobody 2, Hutch will once again find himself battling bad guys after being forced out of retirement in the first film. A new still from the upcoming sequel Nobody 2 has been released. It provides the first official look at Bob Odenkirk returning to reprise his role from the original hit film.
First shared by Empire, the first look photo reveals Odenkirk's Hutch seemingly in the midst of a gun battle. With a firearm in one hand, Hutch has his face covered in blood, most likely coming from someone else. Just how high the body count is in the sequel remains to be seen, but it seems to be clear from the first image alone that things are going to get a bit messy in Nobody 2. Check out the photo below.

Bob Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell in a bloody first-look at Nobody 2. Odenkirk made his action hero debut in 2021's Nobody, which follows Hutch, a seemingly ordinary family man, as skills from his past as a government assassin resurface after a home invasion. The film was a hit, and Nobody 2 was confirmed, with Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us) set to direct. The sequel brings several familiar faces back from the original movie, including Christopher Lloyd as David Mansell and Connie Nielsen as Becca Mansell, with Sharon Stone joining the cast as a villain.
Empire now releases the first image from Nobody 2, showing Odenkirk's Hutch covered in blood and pointing a gun at an off-screen attacker. Tjahjanto also teases some of what's to come from the sequel, noting that Hutch's relationship to his family will be front and center in the movie. Audiences can also expect an...

Renny Harlin was once the heir apparent to the coke-soaked '80s action empire built by John McTiernan, Joel Silver, and Shane Black. So the news of the Cliffhanger and Die Hard 2 director returning to high-octane cinema with The Beast is exciting for action fans who grew up with his follow-the-fun approach to filmmaking.
The Beast also reunites Harlin with Samuel L. Jackson, who he directed in the proto-shark-sploitation film Deep Blue Sea and the truly GOATed Christmas movie The Long Kiss Goodnight. The film's roster also includes Suicide Squad standout Joel Kinnaman and Guy Burnet of Oppenheimer. Harlin spoke to Deadline saying:
Sam is not just one of those screen icons, but also a dear friend, and joining forces for another action extravaganza has me inspired beyond belief. Joel Kinnaman is another magnetic talent and a good friend as well. Once in a while a new writer with...

Deadline reports that Renny Harlin will direct The Beast, starring Samuel L. Jackson. In fact, Harlin is already halfway through the eight-week shoot in Madrid and Spain’s Canary Islands, and he wasn’t even the original director. James Madigan, second unit director on The Meg, was previously set to helm the action flick. No reason was given for his exit.
The Beast refers to the Presidential limousine, which is an impenetrable tank stocked with grenades, shotguns, armour plating, and bullet-and-bombproofing. In addition to Jackson, The Beast also stars Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad) and Guy Burnett (Oppenheimer). “When a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the U.S. presidency, the President (Jackson) uncovers the extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities,” reads the synopsis of The Beast. “Separated from his wife, the President must learn to control The Beast — and the monster inside himself — in order to save his life,...

John Wick’s Creator Set to Deliver Highly Anticipated Sequel to ‘Nobody’ ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Back in 2021, Nobody was a huge hit; honestly, nobody saw that coming! Made on a modest $16 million budget, it raked in almost $60 million at the box office. It followed in the footsteps of John Wick, which surprised everyone in 2014 by becoming a cultural phenomenon. Fun fact: Derek Kolstad wrote both films’ scripts.
Since Nobody’s success, we have eagerly awaited the sequel, and the wait is nearly over. ‘Nobody 2’ is on the way, but Derek Kolstad didn’t write it alone this time. He received help from Aaron Rabin, Umair Aleem, and, of course, the star himself, Bob Odenkirk—who has showcased his acting abilities not only in Nobody but also through his outstanding roles in ‘Breaking Bad’ and its spin-off, Better Call Saul.

Back in 2021, actor/comedian Bob Odenkirk – who is best known for playing the role of con artist turned lawyer Saul Goodman on the TV series on Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul – made the unexpected move of playing a retired government assassin in the action thriller Nobody. Timo Tjahjanto, director of Nobody 2, is known for his brutal and bloody action thrillers. The Night Comes for Us features intense fight scenes and a surprisingly emotional father-daughter dynamic. Nobody 2, with Bob Odenkirk, promises to deliver action-packed thrills and emotional depth.
Before Timo Tjahjanto directs Bob Odenkirk in the highly anticipated Nobody 2, its the perfect time to check out the filmmakers criminally underrated action thriller on Netflix. With Better Call Sauls Odenkirk in the lead role, playing a seemingly ordinary suburban family guy who turns out to have a dark history of government wetwork, Nobody offered a fresh perspective on the action genre.
