Dutch Live-Action Film 'My Best Friend Anne Frank' Official Trailer
My Best Friend Anne Frank (2021)
"Do you promise to stay with me forever?" Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a Dutch film titled My Best Friend Anne Frank, apparently the first ever Dutch movie made about Anne Frank, despite the fact that she lived there for most of her life. Based on the real-life friendship between Anne Frank and Hannah Goslar, from Nazi-occupied Amsterdam to their harrowing reunion in a concentration camp. This is labeled as "live-action" to differentiate it from the animated film that debuted last year called Where Is Anne Frank, also about Anne Frank and her imaginary best friend. This Dutch film follows Anne all the way to the camps where she eventually dies in early 1945. Starring Aiko Beemsterboer as Anne, Josephine Arendsen as Hannah, with Roeland Fernhout, Lottie Hellingman, Björn Freiberg, Hans Peterson, and Stefan de Walle. This adaptation looks more educational than anything, but it might still be a worthwhile watch.

Milla Jovovich, Sandrine Pinna, Talu Wang, Timmy Xu, and Meitong Liu in The Rookies (2019)
New Trailer for Chinese Action Film 'The Rookies' with Milla Jovovich
Milla Jovovich, Sandrine Pinna, Talu Wang, Timmy Xu, and Meitong Liu in The Rookies (2019)
"Whoever's the boss makes the rules." Shout Factory has debuted a new US trailer for the upcoming release of the Chinese action movie The Rookies, which originally opened in China way back in 2019. Set partially in Hungary, the action thriller also co-stars Milla Jovovich in addition to a mostly Chinese cast. Extreme sport lover Zhou Feng got himself wrapped up in international illegal trade by accident. So he had to follow an international special agent Bruce to Budapest. Together with a crappy police officer, a non-professional scientist, and an unemployed doctor, these four rookies start a fight with the terrorists. The cast features Wang Talu, Sandrine Pinna, Xu Weizhou, Liu Meitong, Alan Wan, Björn Freiberg, plus Jovovich and David Lee McInnis as Iron Fist. This looks fun, but it also looks like an utterly ridiculous Kingsman ripoff, and someone needs to turn down the color saturation, my goodness. Not so sure it's worth the wait.

First Trailer for 'Terminator: Dark Fate' with Linda Hamilton & Arnold
"I've never seen one like you before - almost human." Paramount has released the first teaser trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate, the sixth Terminator movie that takes us all the way back to the first two James Cameron movies. This one throws away the other movies and gives us an actual direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day, starting up the day after Judgement Day. As for the rest of the story, we don't know much about where it's headed but this trailer does give us a few hints. Badass actress Linda Hamilton returns as the first Sarah Connor, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as also back as the original Terminator. James Cameron is producing and is credited on the story, some good news. The cast includes Mackenzie Davis, Brett Azar as the new T-800, along with Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, Diego Boneta, Alicia Borrachero, Steven Cree, Tábata Cerezo, and Björn Freiberg.

First Trailer for László Nemes' New Film 'Sunset' Premiering in Venice
"Why are you so sad?" Screen International has unveiled the first official trailer for László Nemes' new film Sunset and my goodness does it looks incredible. This is the next film from the highly acclaimed Hungarian director of the film Son of Saul, and it's set to premiere at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals this fall. Sunset tells the story of a young girl who grows up to become a strong and fearless woman in Budapest before World War I. Juli Jakab stars as Írisz Leiter, and the cast includes Vlad Ivanov, Susanne Wuest, Björn Freiberg, Levente Molnár, Mónika Balsai, Urs Rechn, Judit Bárdos, and Evelin Dobos. I don't know much about this film yet, but I think it looks extraordinary already, especially because I believe Nemes is a genius (for making Son of Saul). I'll be seeing this in Venice and will have a review up soon after.
