Theo James & Jasmine Blackborow Film Scenes for 'The Gentleman' Season 2 in Italy
Image
The cast of The Gentleman is taking over Italy!

Theo James and Jasmine Blackborow looked out at the sea as they filmed scenes for the upcoming second season of Guy Ritchie‘s hit Netflix series earlier this week in Verbonia, Italy.

For those scenes, Theo, 40, wore a white linen suit over a blue button down shirt while Jasmine, 33, donned a red floral-print dress.

Also this week, Theo filmed scenes around the city and was spotted aboard a boat while filming.

Here’s a season two synopsis: It’s been one year since Eddie (James) and Susie (Kaya Scodelario) joined forces to work together in Bobby’s (Ray Winstone) criminal empire overseas. As they drive to expand their enterprise, the decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound. Now Eddie and Susie must decide whether to take action or risk losing it all, but unfettered ambition never ends well…

Marie Antoinette Season 2 Review: The Queen’s Descent into Chaos
Image
The second season of Marie Antoinette returns viewers to a French court teetering on a precipice, a decade into the reign of Louis XVI (Louis Cunningham) and his queen, Marie Antoinette (Emilia Schüle). The opulence of Versailles stands in stark, unsettling contrast to the palpable misery gripping the kingdom.

France shivers through one of the coldest winters recorded, its treasury depleted by foreign conflicts, its people seething with a discontent that grows louder with each passing day. Within this pressure cooker, the young monarchs appear increasingly isolated.

Marie Antoinette, portrayed with a keen desire for popular affection, finds her every gesture scrutinized, her attempts at connection often curdling into further public resentment. The initial episodes lay a path strewn with ominous portents, signaling a period where the crown’s legitimacy will face its most severe tests, and personal desires clash ruinously with the demands of a nation in turmoil.

Odyssey Review: Polly Maberly’s Unforgiving Antihero
Image
Odyssey yanks us straight into Natasha “Tash” Flynn’s world with surgical precision: a dentist’s chair, a wisdom tooth pulled, and a card decline that feels like a moral indictment. (Nothing says “you’re at rock bottom” like plastic rejection.) Tash is a gladiator in glass towers—an estate agent whose lightning‑fast sales pitch masks a staggering debt.

This is a gritty, high‑octane crime thriller wedded to character study. Writer‑director Gerard Johnson applies his signature kinetic lens to London’s underbelly, trading slick cockney charm for cold neon bruises. The film premiered at SXSW 2025, where its raw intensity stood out against more polished genre fare.

Odyssey sits at the darker end of contemporary London crime cinema—a cousin to Uncut Gems in its panic‑driven momentum, yet rooted in the very real housing crisis that has hollowed out communities. Here, overpriced shoeboxes become Kafkaesque traps, and...

After keeping those of us across the pond in the United States waiting a full two years, the series has returned to PBS with more twists and turns than the famed and long-gone Labyrinth of Versailles. If you thought the first season was loaded with edge-of-your-seat moments and famous names throughout history, the next set of episodes promises to deliver on that tenfold as the titular Queen makes a name for herself as the last Queen of France.

In our exclusive first look, Marie Antoinette (Emily Schüle) can be seen walking outside of Versailles with her attendants surrounding her. Together, they chat about an upcoming play, and Marie seeks to get some tea (of the gossip variety) from Saint-Georges (Yoli Fuller) about his...

‘Odyssey’ Review: A Woman In Trouble Turns To The Dark Side In Gerard Johnson’s Tough London Thriller – SXSW
Image
“Bit of a toughie, this one,” are the prophetic first words of this gritty urban thriller by East London-born director Gerard Johnson. Odyssey’s protagonist, Natasha Flynn (Polly Maberly), is having a wisdom tooth taken out, and we see its removal in close-up. Thank heavens for small mercies, however; though it presages some extreme violence in the film’s final stretch, this is nothing compared to the extremities of the director’s previous work: consider the unsimulated swingers’ sex party in his last movie Muscle (2019), or the harrowing scenes of sex trafficking in the one that preceded it, Hyena (2014).

Johnson’s forte is the Manichean gangster movie, in that all his films interrogate the relationship between good and evil. His debut, Tony (2009), was an empathetic study of a down-at-heel London serial killer, while Hyena was much on the nose, being the Bad Lieutenant-style story of a corrupt cop working in the capital’s drug squad.

The Gentlemen has been renewed for a second season over at Netflix
Image
Get ready for another go-around with the Guy Ritchie series, The Gentlemen. Variety has reported that the Netflix series has been renewed for season 2. In his review for season one, our own Alex Maidy said, “The Gentlemen series feels like a reimagining of the film. The story hits some vaguely similar notes but the vast majority is completely different. […] This is a unique reimagining of a successful story that takes it in a different direction and sets up future seasons.”

Netflix U.K.’s VP spoke ecstatically about the show’s successful first season, “With its gun-toting chickens and drug-dealing Dukes, The Gentlemen was a huge hit with audiences in 2024. Not really a surprise as Guy Ritchie remains one of the industry’s most iconic creators telling authentically British stories with his signature swagger, grit and wit. We are thrilled the series will be returning to Netflix for a second season,...

Theo James Charms in Guy Ritchie’s Exemplary Netflix Gangster Thriller ‘The Gentlemen’: TV Review
Image
In aristocracies across the globe, rank and title are paramount. Set in the same world as his 2019 film of the same name, Guy Ritchie’s new Netflix series, “The Gentlemen,” is a brilliant show about legacy, family and the thrills of self-discovery. While the TV show boasts a brand new cast of characters, the series’ concept focuses on a similar criminal underworld that Ritchie depicted in his film — no prior knowledge of the movie is necessary.

The series opens in Turkey with Army Captain Eddie Halstead (a stoically charming Theo James) and his team conducting checks at the Syrian border. Level-headed and generally affable, Eddie remains calm and collected when he’s abruptly called home amid news of his father’s declining health. Arriving at his family’s palatial estate, he greets his lovely mother, Lady Sabrina (Joely Richardson), his younger sister Charly (Jasmine Blackborow) and his notoriously coked-out hot mess of an older brother,...
