Mitch Federer brings years of experience at top entertainment production companies to Del Shaw. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs at Kinetic Content where he was responsible for all business and legal affairs, human resources and general corporate matters. He was a member of the executive management team responsible for day-to-day operation of the business and its 400 employees. Mitch provided advice and counsel on all corporate business matters including but not limited to corporate governance, corporate real estate, public relations, employee relations, terminations, investigations and general business guidance.
The Tampa, Florida native also worked at GRB Entertainment as the Senior Counsel & Managing Partner, Business & Legal Affairs where he managed day-to-day operations of the business & legal affair department. He negotiated and drafted high level above and below-the-line agreements including talent, producer, director, writer, crew and location agreements, as well as rights agreements, network agreements and option agreements. He also spearheaded the company's digital production and distribution division.
Mitch also was the Manager of Business & Legal Affairs at Mark Burnett Productions where he drafted, reviewed and negotiated various unscripted/reality television production agreements: including location agreements, appearance releases, trade out agreements, material releases, logo releases, clip licenses, music master & sync licenses and confidentiality agreements.
He started his law career as a civil defense litigation attorney at Ramey & DeBlanc, LLP.
Mitch received his B.S. & Business Administration, Finance, Cum Laude, from University of Florida and earned his J.D. at Southwestern Law School where he was the Vice-President of the Student Bar Association. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor to the law school's Unscripted Television Production Law and the Graduate Academic Program.
An avid sailor, he loves to coach his daughter's soccer team and softball league.
