‘Percy Jackson’ Star, 28, Reveals How They Created the Fan-Favorite Cyclops [Exclusive]
Image
It takes a lot to play a demigod on screen in Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Disney+’s hit series based on Rick Riordan’s book series of the same name. But it’s arguably harder to get into the mindset of a cyclops, the challenge faced by Daniel Diemer, the newest addition to the young adult cast of the series, which returns for Season 2 this December.

Diemer stars as Tyson, Percy’s (Walker Scobell) half-brother and new addition to the Camp Half-Blood team who just so happens to be a cyclops. With the mind of a child, Tyson is initially a hindrance to Percy’s quest to rescue Grover (Aryan Simhadri) from the clutches of the much larger and more infamous cyclops Polyphemus, though he eventually grows to love his half-brother, a fan-favorite character whose appearance was highly discussed ahead of the Season 2 trailer released yesterday.

So just how does becoming a cyclops work?...

‘Percy Jackson’ Star Teases the “Twisted Reason” Audiences Will Love Her Fan-Favorite Bully in Season 2 [Exclusive]
Image
Walker Scobell isn’t the only one going on a quest in Season 2 of Percy Jackson & the Olympians. With his best friend Grover (Aryan Simhadri) kidnapped by Polyphemus and Camp Half-Blood’s magical protections at risk, Percy’s going to need back up — and that comes in the form of the inimitable Clarisse La Rue (Dior Goodjohn), a daughter of Ares chosen by the Oracle to rescue the camp and everyone in it.

At Collider’s Sdcc studio, alongside her co-stars Scobell, Simhadri, Leah Sava Jeffries, Charlie Bushnell, and Daniel Diemer, Goodjohn told Perri Nemiroff that she did a lot of research on Clarisse, using fan wikis and “everywhere [she] could possibly go to find out information” to gather as much as she could after she was cast, since “there’s not much on her in the books to really, really pull from.” But going into Season 2, where she has her own quest,...

Percy Jackson cast teases Sea of Monsters, battle wounds, and new character wardrobe
Image
The Percy Jackson Disney+ series is a dream come true for the cast, author, and fans as they speed towards season 2's December 2025 release.

A recent Entertainment Weekly interview dropped season 2 first-look images, and Leah Jefferies teased, "It's several quests going on at once. It almost felt like everything was a complete upgrade."

An upgrade fits the bill as the young stars put their blood, sweat, and tears into this new season. Walker Scobell (Percy), Leah Jeffries (Annabeth), Aryan Simhadri (Grover), Charlie Bushell (Luke), and Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse) sustained real injuries while filming season 2.

Percy Jackson season 2 accidently showcases real wounds

The young cast are giddy about their real wounds earned on the set of Percy Jackson season 2. I'll admit they're common mishaps, but so hilarious.

Percy Jackson star reveals a ‘huge’ season 2 twist will shock book fans
Image
While we're waiting for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 to make its premiere on Disney+ in December 2025, there's so much to learn about the upcoming new season. It's been two years since the series first made its premiere and became a not only a hit but a fan-favorite. Soon, that wait will come to an end, but there's a "huge change" from the book in store in season 2.

From the beginning, the Percy Jackson television has made changes from Rick Riordan's popular book series, but series star Leah Jeffries, who plays Annabeth in the show, has now previewed one of the biggest changes yet in a new interview and season 2 preview with Entertainment Weekly. However, it sounds like a change fans might enjoy more than they expect.

For the first time, Percy Jackson season 2 will adapt the Sirens scene from Riordan's second novel in the series, The Sea of Monsters.

Percy Jackson Cast Confirms Season 2's Story & Fantasy Setting Will Be "A Complete Upgrade"
Image
The cast and creators of Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 have promised that Percy's hero's journey will be even bigger and more fantastical this time around. While the early '10s film adaptations of Rick Riordan's beloved Percy Jackson books were ... middling, to say the least, the Disney+ series adaptation has proven to be a massive, more book-accurate hit.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 will, therefore, be more terrifying, more monstrous, and more epic, just as the second book in the first Percy Jackson series is. As executive producer Craig Silverstein told Entertainment Weekly, "They sail off the map, straight into the Sea of Monsters, which doesn't exist. We had to create it at all. We had to make it even bigger."

Rather than watching the kids go on an extended all-American road trip, encountering Greek myths in garden centers, Percy (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries...

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Star Promises "Several Quests Going on at Once" In Upcoming Second Season
Image
Percy Jackson and the Olympiansstar Leah Sava Jeffries promises fans there will be "several quests going on at once" in Season 2 of the hit Disney+ series.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Jeffries discussed some of the major changes that audiences can look forward to taking place in the upcoming second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. "I love the first season, but it was just the three of us fighting huge monsters," Jeffries said. "This season, it's several quests going on at once. It almost felt like everything was a complete upgrade."

Based on Rick Riordan's long-running fantasy novel series of the same name, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series from Disney+ was created by Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg and premiered in 2023 to rave reviews from critics. The series stars Walker Scobell as the titular Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon and a young demigod who becomes...

Image
Walker Scobell reveals the "terrifying" pressure he feels surrounding Percy & Annabeth's iconic book scenes in Percy Jackson & the Olympians season 2. The upcoming season adapts Sea of Monsters, the second book in the beloved book series written by Rick Riordan.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians season 2's story will include the iconic Sirens scene from Sea of Monsters where Annabeth's fatal flaw is revealed to be excessive pride, also known as hubris. It is a pivotal moment for the couple, who are often referred to as "Percabeth."

This is the first time that the scene will be shown in live action since it was not featured in the 2013 Sea of Monsters movie. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Scobell admits that "it's almost terrifying" to bring this scene to life considering how much it means to the fans. Check out his additional comments below:

The San Diego Comic-Con lineup of films and television panels may never return to its pre-Covid level, but the 2025 schedule has enough of both to keep Sdcc attendees hopping between Hall H, Ballroom 20, and the Indigo Ballroom. TV panels once again outnumber movie panels, with the casts from series including Peacemaker, Outlander (the original and its prequel), Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Resident Alien, Revival, Gen V, Ghosts, and Abbott Elementary making their way to downtown San Diego for the sold-out pop culture convention.

The Anne Rice Universe will be represented by Interview with the Vampire and Talamasca. Plus, the stars of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Upload, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, Alien: Earth, Dexter: Resurrection, Spartacus: House of Ashur, and Paradise are scheduled to attend the 2025 Sdcc.

For animation fans, scheduled panels include Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons,...

Comic-Con 2025 Schedule: ‘Star Trek,’ ‘Alien: Earth,’ ‘Project Hail Mary’ and George Lucas’ First-Ever Appearance
Image
San Diego Comic-Con is rolling out its schedule for the 2025 convention this week, which runs from July 24–27. It will likely be a quieter convention this year, since neither Marvel Studios nor DC Studios are planning a major panel covering their upcoming projects. But for the first time in its history, “Star Wars” creator George Lucas will appear in person at the largest annual fan gathering in North America, to give a first look at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, which is expected to open in Los Angeles in 2026. He’ll be joined in Hall H by director Guillermo del Toro, visual designer Doug Chiang and moderator Queen Latifah.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome George Lucas to Comic-Con for the very first time,” said Comic-Con’s chief of communications and strategy David Glanzer in a statement. “Nearly five decades ago, ‘Star Wars’ made one of its earliest public appearances at our convention,...

Percy Jackson Season 2: Disney+ Reveals 9 Key Scenes in First Official Look
Image
Percy Jackson and the Olympians released a new look at this December's upcoming Season 2 through 17 GIFs teasing several scenes from the series' next installment. This comes the same day as some additional first looks at Disney+ 2025 content previews.

One of the additional previews outside of the GIFs includes a clip of Percy running while holding what some fans believe is the Golden Fleece, a key object in the story of The Sea of Monsters novel that Season 2 is adapting. Another features Annabeth's voice: "A hero will become a powerful weapon." This line does not come from any Percy Jackson novels or subsequent sequel and prequel stories.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 will tell the story of Rick Riordan's second Percy Jackson novel. The new season brings the returns of Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri as Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood, respectively. Season 2 is...

Disney+ shares exciting new footage from Wonder Man, Percy Jackson, and Alien: Earth
Image
Disney just shared a new minute-long sizzle reel teasing its many highly-anticipated new and returning series still to come in 2025, including Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Alien: Earth, and the Marvel TV series Wonder Man. You can watch the full video embedded below:

Simon Williams shows off his powers in new look at Wonder Man

Ben Kingsley is back as Trevor Slattery in the latest look at the upcoming Marvel series Wonder Man. He only appears in a brief clip, warning Simon Williams/Wonder Man (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) that it's "not too late to turn this around." What is the "this" in question, you might ask? We'll have to watch the show to find out.

The brief snippets we see in the less than 10-second clip suggest that Simon, a struggling actor who has developed superpowers, is struggling to adapt to his newfound abilities. He is shown (accidentally?) breaking a...

Disney+'s Percy Jackson Season 2: Every Greek God Now Confirmed to Appear
Image
With Percy Jackson and the Olympians officially renewed for both Seasons 2 and 3, Disney+ is diving deeper into the mythological chaos introduced in author Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief. The first season laid the groundwork for the sprawling franchise, introducing young demigod Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), a daughter of Athena named Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), and Percy’s satyr protector Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri), while teasing dangers that have yet to unfold.

Percy Jackson's second season, set to debut on the streaming platform in December 2025, adapts Riordan’s second installment in the series, The Sea of Monsters, which raises the stakes in every way, including expanding the show’s roster of gods. Now confirmed by multiple outlets and casting announcements, Percy Jackson Season 2 will feature at least four Greek gods, each bringing their unique brand of divine chaos to Percy’s life. Here’s a breakdown of what fans...

‘Percy Jackson’ Star Teases Camp Half-Blood Being “Shaken Up” By a New Character in Season 2
Image
We are counting down the months before Percy Jackson and the Olympians returns with its highly anticipated second season in December. The Rick Riordan-inspired series will be dealing with familiar plotlines as Season 2 brings the events of The Sea of Monsters to life. Walker Scobell's Percy Jackson and his friends, Annabeth (Leah Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri), will be returning to Camp Half Blood for more Olympus-powered adventures. The trio will be joined by Glynn Turman, who plays Chiron in the Disney+ series, as the show welcomes some interesting new characters such as Tantalus.

Timothy Simons comes on board as Tantalus, a ruthless and mean demigod son of Zeus who joins the staff at Camp Half-Blood. The arrival of new characters means change, which is likely to test the resolve built up by our heroes so far. Speaking with ScreenRant on the red carpet for the 2025 movie Straw,...

Percy Jackson Season 3 Will Fix a Big Mistake from Season 2, Confirms Actor
Image
Disney+ is fixing one of its biggest mistakes for Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The House of Mouse began adapting Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson novels in December 2023, with Season 1 covering The Lightning Thief. The show was an instant hit and was quickly renewed for Season 2 (adapting The Sea of Monsters), which will arrive two years later this December.

The Disney+ series is the second attempt at bringing Percy Jackson to live-action after two movies starring Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson, and Alexandra Daddario. The show has set out a goal for at least five seasons based on the five original books, with the Golden Trio this time played by Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Jeffries (whose casting was originally hit with backlash).

During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Percy Jackson and The Olympians' Grover actor Aryan Simhadri confirmed that production on Season 3 will begin in July.

Percy Jackson season 3 gets exciting filming update ahead of season 2 release
Image
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 is coming in December 2025, but that's not even the best news! According to Screen Rant's interview with the Percy Jackson cast, Percy Jackson season 3 will begin filming in July 2025. Aryan Simhadri (Grover) confirmed, "We go up in July for bootcamp."

I grew up watching Logan Lerman portray Percy Jackson, having no clue that the movies weren't accurate. As an adult, my husband, a fan of the books, encouraged me to read the series. I've read the first two books from the Olympians series, which is currently being adapted into a Disney+ series with season 1 already a major hit. The season 3 news makes me more excited to read the third book, especially hearing how excited the core cast is about the next installment.

“I’m His Guardian”: Walker Scobell Teases His “Weird” Relationship With This Fan-Favorite Character in ‘Percy Jackson’ Season 2
Image
Percy Jackson and the Olympians still has several months to go before the arrival of its sophomore season, but fans of the Rick Riordan-inspired series won't be amiss if they seek out potential plotlines. Season 2 will bring the events of The Sea of Monsters to the fore, as the esteem of Walker Scobell's Percy Jackson continues to grow across Camp Half Blood and throughout the world of the Olympians. The new season will introduce characters such as Daniel Diemer as Tyson, Timothy Simons as Tantalus, Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho as the Gray Sisters, and Tamara Smart as Thalia. Diemer's arrival as Tyson means his character shares kinship with Scobell's Percy, as both are sons of the sea god, Poseidon.

Season 2 will see Percy take on the role of big brother to Tyson, a cyclops. In many moments in the first season, Percy lacked the sort...

Percy Jackson star says season 3 will be "my favorite season"
Image
The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, adapted from the YA fantasy series by Rick Riordan, premiered in December of 2023. The second season will air this upcoming December, which means fans will be waiting two years between new episodes. That's a long time, but Disney is trying to make sure that viewers don't have to wait that long again. They renewed the show for a third season earlier this year, and now we know when shooting will begin. "We go up in July for bootcamp," star Aryan Simhadri (Grover) recently told Screenrant.

That means cameras will start rolling in just a couple of months! If we're lucky, they could be done or almost done with filming season 3 by the time season 2 starts airing. At a time when even hit shows take forever to produce new episodes, it's good to see Disney being proactive and looking ahead.
