Cody Jones's passion for filmmaking began at a young age when he used his dad's early 2000s camcorder to create home videos with his three younger siblings. Growing up with a father who worked in IT, Cody had access to the latest technology, which made these creative endeavors even more exciting. At just 10 years old, he believed his home movies were masterpieces-though, in hindsight, they were far from perfect, and looking back brings a bit of cringe-worthy nostalgia.
Despite the amateur beginnings, Cody's enthusiasm for visual storytelling only grew over the years. In high school, he became the lead photographer for the yearbook, a role that helped him hone his artistic eye. This led to his pursuit of an Associate's degree in Commercial Photography.
While he enjoyed photography, Cody eventually returned to his childhood love of filmmaking. The collaborative nature of creating movies appealed to him far more than working alone. After college, he immersed himself in the filmmaking world and discovered two roles that perfectly aligned with his skills and interests: Color Grading and Digital Imaging Technician (DIT).
Cody's background in photography made him a natural fit for color grading, while his extensive IT knowledge-thanks to his father's influence-prepared him well for the technical demands of being a DIT. Over time, Cody developed a well-rounded skill set that allowed him to manage the complexities of both production and post-production. He takes pride in ensuring the security of production assets while protecting the Director of Photography's artistic vision.
Cody is excited to bring his expertise and positive attitude to every project he works on. Whether serving as a DIT, Colorist, or providing consultation, he is committed to delivering his best. He looks forward to meeting new collaborators, hearing about their projects, and bringing their creative visions to life.
