Biography

    • Taylor-Jessica was born to parents Donna Laramee-Kelly and Patrick Kelly in Ottawa where she lived for the first 22 years of her life. She spent most of her childhood playing road hockey with children living in her area and her sister Hunter. From the age 3 she has been playing ringette at a competitive level. She also spent four years playing rugby for her high school and now spends her free time coaching. Taylor-Jessica spent her elementary years attending Queenswood Public school in Orleans. For her intermediate years she attended Dunning Foubert where her love for music developed through her involvement in Jazz and Concert Band. By the time she entered Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School (which is featured in Queer) she had a profound love for music and was eager to join the thespians. She soon joined the improvisation team and drama club and was actively involved in all of the bands and choirs the school offered. During her time in High School she participated in multiple different band performances and a couple theatre shows. After graduating with Honors she continued onto post-secondary at the University of Ottawa finishing with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology with a minor in religious studies. During her time in university she played for the Gee-Gees ringette team as a goalie. Also she began to become involved in a local theatre group called RAPA (Russell Association for Performing Arts). With this association she played the understudy role of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and the role of Janet in the Rocky Horror Show. Upon finishing her undergrad she continued on to study education also at the University of Ottawa. With her new qualifications she decided to spend a year abroad teaching in the United Kingdom. At the moment she is currently teaching Humanities (primarily History) in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and is doing costumes in her schools production of High School Musical Jr.
