As a black comedy, Dead to Me doesn't shy away from showing very human characters who are incredibly flawed in many ways. Some characters are too caught up in their own world to act intelligently, while other characters' lives are constantly on the line and, as such, they act smarter than they ever have in any other situation.

More than half of the series' main cast commits one crime or another across Dead to Me's three-season run, but some of them are also much better criminals than others. Whether they get away with murder or not, characters like Jen, Judy, Ben, Steve, and more all display their intelligence (or lack thereof) in alternately hilarious and heartbreaking ways.

Dead To Me ends season 3 with the Holy Harmonies version of Judy Garland’s “Get Happy,” but the song has a deeper meaning than first realized. One of the final scenes of Dead To Me sees Jen (Christina Applegate) return from Mexico after Judy's death and head to church to watch Henry’s Holy Harmonies (Luke Roessler). The church is decorated with the paper cranes Judy had made during her chemotherapy, and Henry’s Holy Harmonies group is singing a version of Judy Garland’s “Get Happy.” The decorations have an obvious impact on Jen, who has just lost Judy, and make her emotional, but there are obvious signs of comfort at the sight of Judy’s designs.

The Holy Harmonies singing “Get Happy” is meaningful, because it also plays in the pilot of Dead To Me when Jen is grieving her husband Ted, and Jen slamming her car door cuts the song off.

Spoilers for Dead To Me season 3Season 3 of Dead To Me ended with a heartbroken Jen bringing the stray cat back from Mexico with her, and there’s a reason for this decision and Jen’s choice to name it Sammy. A teenage stand-up, she joined The Groundlings after college and worked for mentor Ellen DeGeneres before writing on a string of traditional broadcast sitcoms. The dark and twisted series was insanely gripping but in my review of season one, I ended it by saying that I hoped there wouldn’t be a second season as it could “ruin the narrative of the show” but I could not have been more wrong! The first full-length trailer for Dead to Me‘s upcoming second season takes an interesting, potentially spoilery turn at around the 90-second mark — consider yourself warned.

Despite the fact that the Netflix comedy’s inaugural season ended with Christina Applegate’s Jen and Linda Cardellini’s Judy standing over Steve’s dead body, the trailer prominently confirms that the dearly departed character’s portrayer, James Marsden, will be back for Season 2.

The trailer is out for the upcoming second season of “Dead to Me,” and it finds Jen and Judy trying to figure out what the heck to do with the dead body floating in their pool.

The new 10-episode season premieres May 8 on Netflix, and the two best-friends, played by Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini respectively, are dealing with the aftermath of murdering Judy’s fiancee Steve, played by James Marsden.

Some good news broke in the dead of night -- the announcement that Netflix has renewed its Dead to Me TV show for a second season. The streaming service revealed the season two renewal during its Monday night "For Your Consideration" Emmy presentation. Disney Channel has officially set a date for its third trip to Auradon: Descendants 3 will premiere Friday, Aug. 2 at 8/7c, the network announced today. The Descendants franchise, which kicked off with the first film in 2015, follows the children of classic Disney villains as they attempt to leave their wicked ways behind them.

In this third film, the children “cross the barrier and return to their birthplace, the Isle of the Lost, to bring four deserving Villain Kids to the coveted Auradon Prep in a land where they have a chance at success, happiness and fulfillment,” according to the official synopsis.

Disney Channel has set 8 p.m. Friday, August 2, for the premiere of its music-fueled telefilm threequel Descendants 3. The original cast returns as does director Kenny Ortega, who also helmed the High School Musical movies in the 2000s.

While the Disney channel are gearing up for the third movie from the highly successful ‘Descendants’ saga which is due to drop later this year, an array of new character images have been released.

The all-new shots offer an exciting glimpse of characters of returning characters Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Harry Hook (Thomas Doherty), Cheyenne Jackson (Hades), Jay (Booboo Stewart), Gil (Dylan Playfair), Carlos (Cameron Boyce) and China Anne McClain (Uma).

The third film will also host a whole bunch of new faces with Jamal Sims playing The Princess and the Frog’s villain Dr Facilier, Jadah Marie starring as his daughter Celia, and Cheyenne Jackson as Hercules villain Hades. Christian Convery and Luke Roessler are on board as Squeaky and Squirmy, the sons of Peter Pan’s Mr Smee.

As yet, Disney hasn’t released a synopsis but sources have said it ‘ties up loose ends’.

Disney Channel’s Descendants 3 just got more villainous. The cable net said today that Cheyenne Jackson is set to play Hades, the underworld ruler from Disney’s 1997 toon Hercules, rounding out the cast of the telepic threequel set for 2019.
