10 British Sci-Fi Shows You Probably Haven't Heard Of
Image
The UK has produced several incredible sci-fi TV shows, many of which audiences havent heard of before. The best sci-fi TV shows of 2024 may be relevant right now, but multiple titles that are long forgotten still offer viewers a compelling story to sink their teeth into. British TV is known for producing some of the most famous sci-fi shows ever, such as Doctor Who. Red Dwarf is returning in 2025, which proves just how good the UKs sci-fi shows are.

However, some titles arent as prominent as these. This doesnt mean that these shows are bad, but rather that theyre simply underrated or overshadowed by other projects. Science fiction is a competitive genre, undoubtedly, but some UK shows simply didnt make a big enough splash internationally. Despite executing typically overused sci-fi TV tropes well or having a cast of popular actors, these British shows are relatively unknown and deserve more attention.

Author: Zehra Phelan

Back at the end of March, HeyUGuys were invited back over to Belfast to visit the set of Disney’s The Lodge during the filming of the second season of the hit Disney Channel TV show. We had the pleasure of a complete tour of the set of the show that garnered the Disney Channel their highest rated series debut in the past four years as well as time with members of the cast for a chat.

At the end of the first series, The Lodge left us on a major cliffhanger, Skye (Sophie Simnett) found herself torn, having to choose between Ben (Luke Newton) and Sean (Thomas Doherty) with both boys receiving that all important text, Danielle (Bethan Wright) let her jealousy subside for a brief second to persuade her mother to let the outside gig go...

I think it’s fair to say that The Lodge holds a special place in our (or maybe my!) heart(s). The show quickly became the highest rated debut show on The Disney Channel in four years and has made household names of the cast which includes Sophie Simnett (who you may have also seen recently in the immensely powerful movie Mum’s List), Jade Alleyne, Thomas Doherty, Luke Newton, Jayden Revri, Joshua Sinclair-Evans and Bethan Wright.

Along with the announcement Disney have furnished us with...

Good news for fans of all things The Lodge as Disney have just sent through word that the hit Disney Channel series is on for a second season.

If you’re not familiar with the show, it follows the life of Skye a 15 year old who inherits a lodge called The North Star after her grandmother dies. The show is rife with love triangles and general drama from those who wish to see The North Star’s demise but it’s down to Skye (played by Sophie Simnett) and her dedicated friends Ben (Luke Newton), Sean (Thomas Doherty who was recently cast in Descendants 2), Noah (Jayden Revri) Kaylee (Jade Alleyne), Danielle (Bethan Wright), Joshua (Joshua Sinclair-Evans) to make sure that The Lodge keeps on the straight and narrow all with song and dance to help tell the stories as they go.

The show has caused quite a...
