Doctor Who Meets A Superhero At X-Mas
After a year-long absence, the Doctor returned to TV in the 2016 Doctor Who Christmas Special, “The Return of Doctor Mysterio”. The sci-fi series climbed aboard the superhero bandwagon to show what would happen if the time travelling hero from Gallifrey met a Superman-like caped hero. Did the comic book homage work or was it a super stinker?

As we move into 2017, comic book inspired movies and TV shows are the most popular and lucrative genre going. Just this year, we’ve had six super hero films (Deadpool, Batman v Superman, Captain America: Civil War, Suicide Squad, X-Men: Apocalypse and Doctor Strange) as well as 6 television shows (Arrow, the Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Gotham and Agents of Shield), not to mention the Marvel Netflix shows. Spider-Man: Homecoming Set Photos Show Off Peter's Web-Shooters
Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Production has been under way on Spider-Man: Homecoming in Atlanta since mid-June, and in that month and a half, we've already seen our fair share of set photos. We've seen young star Tom Holland donning his new Spidey costume in numerous videos and photos, along with other images of his stunt double, and of course, we saw him swing into action on the big screen in the summer blockbuster Captain America: Civil War. We know that his costume features web shooters, but we haven't gotten a great look at these devices until now.

The Atlanta Filming Twitter has posted new images from the set which feature the best look at these web shooters yet. Unfortunately, we don't have too many details about the scene in question that was being filmed. We also don't know for sure if this is Tom Holland himself in these photos, or if a stunt double is being used,...

Spider-Man: Homecoming Gives Flash Thompson a Drastic Makeover
Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Leading into Marvel Studios' Hall H panel at Comic-Con on Saturday afternoon, we knew that Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be part of the panel, thanks to social media posts from directors Scott Derrickson and James Gunn. One of the panel's big surprises was the arrival of the Spider-Man: Homecoming cast, who had taken a break in production in Atlanta to showcase the very first footage to the Comic-Con crowd. That footage confirmed that one iconic character has a much different look in this movie.

One scene from the Comic-Con footage featured Tony Revolori, who, when he was cast in April, was said to be playing a character named Manuel, described as a "schoolyard enemy" to Tom Holland's Peter Parker, much like Flash Thompson from the comic books. It seems the name Manuel was all just a red herring, since the footage confirmed...
