Exclusive: Japanese studio Nikkatsu has picked up international sales for Wind Breaker, the live-action adaptation of a hit manga series by Satoru Nii.
Nikkatsu will introduce international buyers to the feature at the Asian Contents and Film Market (Acfm) in Busan, which runs September 20-23.

A live-action film adaptation of Satoru Nii’s Wind Breaker manga has been officially announced following the broadcast of the final episode of the anime’s second season.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters in Dec 2025.
A teaser trailer and visual were revealed to commemorate the announcement.
The film was shot entirely in Okinawa over a two month span from February to April.
Kentaro Hagiwara, known for his work on Blue Period and Our 30-Minute Sessions, is directing the film. The script is written by Yosuke Masaike, who won the Japan Academy Prize for Best Screenplay for Anime Supremacy!.
The film also features original developments not found in the manga, created in collaboration with the author.

Following the broadcast of the Wind Breaker anime's second season finale, a new website and X (formerly Twitter) account opened to reveal that a live-action film adaptation of Satoru Nii's delinquent action manga will release in Japanese theaters this December. The below visual and video were also released with the announcement.
