Gen V: Marie Moreau Joins The Resistance Against Homelander On First Season 2 Poster
Image
It looks like we might get a first look at some footage from the second season of Gen V this Saturday at Ccxp Mexico, as Prime Video has released the first official key art spotlighting Jaz Sinclair as blood-manipulating Supe, Marie Moreau.

In the season 1 finale, Marie and some of her classmates were rounded up by Homelander and his forces, and we saw the same thing happen to Hughie, Frenchie, Mm and Kimiko in the season 4 finale of The Boys. It seems interned Supes are going to form some kind of resistance to fight back against the leader of The Seven (best of luck).

Last year, we got the tragic news that 27-year-old Gen V star Chance Perdomo had passed away after a motorcycle accident. Perdomo had been a major part of The Boys spin-off series, and his character, Andre Anderson, was going to feature heavily in the second season.

'It's Not Like Someone Canceled Us': Jack Quaid Addresses The Boys Ending With Season 5
Image
The end is near for The Boys, and Jack Quaid promises the fifth and final season will be nothing short of “crazy.”

In a recent interview with THR, Quaid opened up about the decision to conclude the hit Amazon Prime series with its upcoming season, emphasizing that the show is ending on its own terms. “I think it’s good that we end with Season 5 because we’re ending on our own terms,” Quaid explained. “It’s not like someone canceled us and we’re trying to quickly make a season that feels final. This was always the showrunner’s intention to end with five seasons, and I’ve actually known that for a little bit and tried to keep my mouth shut about it [Laughs].”

The Boys: Members Of The Seven Suit-Up In First Official Season 5 Set Photo
Image
Cameras are now rolling on the fifth and final season of Prime Video's The Boys, and showrunner Eric Kripke has taken to social media to share the first official set photo.

The shot features returning stars Antony Starr, Chase Crawford and Nathan Mitchell, who will be back to antagonize Billy Butcher and the gang as Homelander, The Deep, and Black Noir, respectively.

The Deep and Noir - who took up the mantle after Homelander killed the original masked villain in season 3 - became a lot more dangerous in the season 4 finale, stepping up as Homelander's enforcers after fully embracing their penchant for merciless brutality.

Things look very bleak for The Boys - especially after Butcher's betrayal - so let's hope the team gets some super-powered back-up in season 5.

When the Avengers Almost Had a Different Lineup of Actors: The Surprising Story Behind Marvel’s Original Casting Choices!

When the Avengers Almost Had a Different Lineup of Actors: The Surprising Story Behind Marvel’s Original Casting Choices! (Photo Credit – Facebook)

Before Chris Evans suited up as Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger, the role of Cap could’ve had a very different face. The casting process for The First Avenger was stacked with a crazy range of actors who almost snagged the part.

In 2010, when Captain America: The First Avenger was being cast, the paycheck was a modest $300k, and the role came with a six-film deal—nothing compared to what Marvel stars command today. But oh, how things could have gone differently. Chris Evans was far from the only one-eyed for the role of skinny Steve, and before Marvel locked him in, some surprising names popped up on the shortlist.

Actors like Sam Worthington (Avatar) and Will Smith were discussed early on, though neither seriously pursued the role.

6 great shows like Euphoria
Image
I will start by saying there are no shows like Euphoria. The HBO series is in a league of its own and to this day remains unmatched. But unfortunately, it is going to be a while before we get new episodes of the Zendaya teen drama. And that season 2 cliffhanger isn’t making this waiting game any easier.

Euphoria stars Zendaya as Rue Bennett, a teen drug addict fresh out of rehab and struggling to stay sober. Rue is the center of the story in the first season, with a small focus on the lives and troubles of the surrounding characters. The second season, however, dives deeper and expands the stories of those around Rue. The cast includes Angus Cloud, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney.

The second season of Euphoria wrapped on Feb. 27, 2022. So to say we are overdue for more episodes is an understatement!

The Boys Season 4 Sister Sage Lobotomy Twist Explained By The Series Showrunner And Star
Image
The wildest part of "The Boys" is its brazen interest in how superpowers can impact a person's sex life. Because so much of popular superhero media is meant to be at least somewhat family friendly, this was a topic rife for exploration, and showrunner Eric Kripke took full advantage. From an Ant-Man ripoff crawling inside his lover's urethra to an Aquaman knockoff having sex with a squid, "The Boys" has never been afraid to get weird with it.

Has this quality of the show always been well received? Not quite; "The Boys" has often been accused of overindulging in shock value and gross-out humor. And after its recent extended Bdsm sequence with Hughie (Jack Quaid) in season 4, it's been accused of treating the sexual assault of male characters way too flippantly. The show also has a growing reputation for being oddly sex negative; almost any kind non-heteronormative sex is treated...

The Boys' Black Noir Actor Almost Played a Different Character
Image
Quick Links Nathan Mitchell Wanted to Play The Deep Black Noir Finally Speaks and Shows His Face in The Boys Season 4

Black Noir was the most silent yet deadly character in The Boys. For three seasons, the character hid behind a mask, not saying a word to the other characters featured in the popular series. However, in Season 4, he actually has a voice and a face behind the mask for good reason that superfans understand.

Actor Nathan Mitchell, who has played the character through the entire run of the Prime Video series to date, is finally getting more screen time and dialogue. Thats something he wanted from the beginning, especially since the actor had auditioned to play another character entirely.

Black Noir's 2 Biggest Weaknesses In The Boys Were Inspired By The Real-Life Actor
Image
Nathan Mitchell brought two unique versions of Black Noir to life, adding personalized quirks that make each character memorable. Mitchell's sleeping habits inspired Black Noir's narcolepsy, showcasing his real-life influence on the character's development. The original Black Noir's nut allergy, inspired by Mitchell's real allergy, added depth and vulnerability to the deadly assassin.

Despite The Boys having two versions of Black Noir, Nathan Mitchell has portrayed both characters while also inspiring each of their biggest weaknesses. Black Noir was first introduced to the show in season 1 as a silent and deadly member of The Seven, becoming a fan favorite despite his evil acts. Nathan Mitchell's original Black Noir never removed his mask and was completely silent during the first three seasons, other than during a flashback scene where Fritzy-Klevans Destine depicted the supe. Mitchell's dedication to the character made Noir incredibly memorable, adding to how hilarious his replacement is.

Did The Boys Just Parody Stranger Things?
Image
Cindy, a powerful Supe, resurfaces in The Boys, and Homelander will use her as a weapon. Cindy's appearance draws comparisons to Eleven from Stranger Things due to her powers and looks. Ess Hdlmoser plays Cindy, showcasing extraordinary skills both on screen and off as a performer.

In the explosive fourth season finale of The Boys, the Prime Video series brought back a terrifying character who had been missing for some time. Shes a Supe with incredible power, and shes also mentally unstable. Thats a dangerous and deadly combination. It seems that as part of his big plan, Homelander (Antony Starr) will be using her as a weapon.

With every Supe on the show, fans can connect the character with another superhero or fictional character. Homelander is, of course, Superman. The Deep (Chase Crawford) is a parody of Aquaman. A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) is The Flash. Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) pokes fun at Captain America.

The Boys Season 4 Enlisted An A-List MCU Actor To Voice The Deep's Octopus Lover
Image
The first three episodes of The Boys season 4 are now streaming on Prime Video, and the premiere sees the return of The Deep's (Chase Crawford) octopus lover, Ambrosius.

There's a sentence we never expected to type, but he's a... unique fella is our Kevin.

First introduced in season 3's debauched "Herogasm" episode, Ambrosius has been living in secret in Deep's apartment at Vought Tower. The Lord of the Seven Seas' superpowers allow him to communicate with his cephalopod significant other, and if you thought she sounded familiar, it's because showrunner Eric Kripke enlisted an A-list actor to voice the character: Tilda Swinton.

"Once we decided we were going to have Deep have regular conversation with his octopus wife, we just wanted the biggest, classiest British Oscar-winning actress we could possibly find," Kripke tells EW. "That's a reasonably short list. We didn't know Tilda. It's not like some of our other...

“He represents this male privilege a**hole who’s kind of a baby”: The Boys Star Who Admitted His Super Character is Just as Disgusting as Antony Starr’s Homelander
Image
Chase Crawford’s character in The Boys is like a well-groomed lion in a room full of alley cats. He plays The Deep, a hero with the looks of a Greek god and the ego to match. But underneath that shiny exterior, he’s about as deep as a kid’s pool. Think of him as the poster boy for good looks and bad decisions.

In a recent interview, the actor delved further into his character, making readers realize that he’s no better than Antony Starr’s iconic Homelander.

Chace Crawford’s The Deep is No Better Than Antony Starr’s Homelander

Originally spoofing Aquaman, Chace Crawford‘s The Deep amps up fish jokes and throws in some white male privilege. In Season 3 of The Boys, his twisted humor remains, and the way he just changes colors like a chameleon is just brilliant.

The 10 Biggest Villains On The Boys, Ranked
Image
Ironically, while The Boys is a show about superheroes, the series is more of an anti-superhero show with many villains, including the people who are supposed to be the caped protectors of society. The satirical series, which streams on Amazon Prime Video, has both overt and covert villains, some of whom have so many others fooled, even brainwashed.

The biggest villains come in all types, from superhero villains to regular citizen villains, and those from the corporate and political spheres. Interestingly, while some of the villains on The Boys think theyre the good guys, others are well aware of their villainy and proud of it.

The Boys to end with Season 5 on Prime Video
Eric Kripke
The Boys remains one of Prime Video’s biggest shows, so we’re sad to report that it’s ending.

Series creator Eric Kripke announced on X on Tuesday morning that The Boys Season 5 will conclude the superhero drama.

“The Boys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season!” he shared on the social media platform.

“Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final Ok from Vought,” he added.

“Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in Two Days, cause the end has begun!”

Kripke is well-known for having arcs mapped out for several years at the beginning of a show’s run.

The Boys is a megahit

Supernatural, one of his other big hits, was supposed to end after Season 5, but it went on for another decade because it was a huge success.

Gen V Season 2 Adds Legion And Midnight Mass Star Hamish Linklater As The New Dean Of G.U.
Image
The upcoming second season of Prime Video's Gen V has added its first new cast member, with Legion and Midnight Mass alum Hamish Linklater set to join the ensemble as the new dean of Godolkin University, Cipher.

It sounds like this character was created for the show (though he could end up having a comic book counterpart), and is described as “the charismatic and charming newly-appointed Dean of Godolkin University. Trained as a scientist, he’s politically brilliant, and has the trust and admiration of officials at the highest level.”

The previous dean, Shelley Conn's Indira Shetty, came to a messy end in season 1 when Cate Dunlap's Maddie Phillips used her mind control powers to force the duplicitous villain to slit her own throat.

Showrunner Eric Kripke has previously confirmed that the Gen V finale will directly tie-in to the events of The Boys season 4.

The Boys Star Teases The Deep's Relationship with Homelander in Season 4
Image
The Boys has always depicted The Deep as the runt of the Seven. Actor Chace Crawford teases the same struggle for his character with Vought bringing new supes into the fold.

Chase Crawford says The Deep will hardly catch a break in The Boys Season 4. The show often poked fun at the character's place in the Seven, who largely dismissed him as a pawn and disposable member. In an interview with Screen Rant, Crawford reveals why The Deep has endured in the Seven despite its internal conflicts and Homelander's tantrums. The actor says The Deep's loyalty to Homelander borders on idolatry, something the latter feeds on. This hardly translates to allegiance, though; The Deep has walked away from (or kicked out) The Seven on multiple occasions. Crawford explains how his character and Homelander are kindred spirits yearning for external validation.

Why Chris Evans Initially Turned Down Captain America
Image
Chris Evans initially had concerns about playing Captain America due to his worries about the negative effects of fame and loss of control in the industry. Despite his initial doubts, Evans ultimately decided to join the franchise and has no regrets about his decision. The role of Captain America suited him well. Other actors, such as Ryan Phillippe, Jensen Ackles, Chase Crawford, and Garrett Hedlund, auditioned for the role of Steve Rogers before Evans was cast. Some of these actors eventually found different Marvel roles while others are yet to appear in the MCU.

Chris Evans’ Captain America may be a pop culture icon after his time in the MCU, but the celebrated actor almost didn’t take the role. 15 years into the MCU, the pros and cons of joining such a massive Hollywood franchise are likely clearer now to potential actors, directors, and other talent who are approached to be involved.

Both actors recently appeared at the end of Gen V Season 1, setting up the storyline for the original series in the franchise's fourth season.

But a lot can change between seasons, as evidenced by the end of The Boys Season 3 and the end of Gen V Season 1 Episode 8.

We don't fully know how Gen V will impact The Boys Season 4, but it sounds like we're getting an interconnected universe at first glance.

Denis delves into that in Gen V Season 1 Ending Explained and How it Connects to The Boys Season 4.

Casting details have been mostly kept under wraps,...

Gen V Confirms Soldier Boy’s Appearance in Episode 6
Image
The latest promo trailer for Gen V has dropped, teasing the appearance of a fan-favorite The Boys character in its upcoming episode.

Released on Prime Video, the 30-second trailer finally confirmed which Gen V episode will feature Jensen Ackles’ long-awaited Soldier Boy cameo. The villainous Supe is set to appear in the upcoming sixth episode of the college-set spinoff titled "Jumanji," which is written by Lauren Greer. Soldier Boy was last seen by fans during the Season 3 finale of The Boys, in which he was once again put under a cryogenic sleep, and has now been taken into custody by the government. That’s why, it remains unclear if Soldier Boy’s surprise appearance would be a part of a flashback sequence, or did he somehow manage to escape captivity leading him to meet Godolkin University’s brightest students.

Gen V Will Introduce Vought’s Iron Man-esque Supe From The Boys Comics
Image
Vought superhero Tek Knight will finally make his appearance in Amazon Studios’ highly-anticipated The Boys spinoff Gen V.

Per EW, Future Man actor Derek Wilson is set to portray the role of Robert Vernon or Tek Knight in the upcoming Gen V series. This marks the character’s live-action debut after only being mentioned by his superhero name during the first three seasons of The Boys. The supe is described as Vought’s very own version of Iron Man, as he’s best known for his high-tech armor suit. In the comic book series, Tek Knight was actually one of the original members of Soldier Boy’s team Payback.

The Deep's Octopus Eating Scene In The Boys Was Uncomfortably Realistic
Image
One of the many oddities of "The Boys" is the way that any character, no matter how terrible, suddenly transforms into an audience surrogate the moment they're trapped in the room with Homelander. A-Train is a selfish, murdering jerk, for instance, but it's hard not to relate to him as Homelander starts making fun of his weight and there's nothing A-Train can do about it. Ashley is a power-hungry corporate stooge, but when she develops a hair-yanking habit from the sheer stress of working with Homelander, we have no trouble understanding why. When Homelander shatters the ear-drums of an innocent, Daredevil-inspired supe, Ashley's horrified expression perfectly matches how we feel.

Such is the case with Chase Crawford's The Deep, a character who could've been a main villain in any other show. Introduced as a rapist and further characterized as a shallow loser with an unsettling fish fetish, Deep...

The Boys' Erin Moriarty Had An Unfortunate Lube Mix-Up On The Set Of Herogasm
Image
There are moments in television history that will always be remembered. Iconic moments like the final episode of "Cheers" when Sam Malone turns out the lights at the bar, or the record-breaking finale of "M.A.S.H.," and the unforgettable, uncontrollable giggle that Mary Tyler Moore lets out at Chuckles the Clown's funeral. And, who can forget the epic superhero sex party that took place on season three of "The Boys" at the 70th Annual Herogasm.

There was a deafening level of hype leading up to the "Herogasm" episode, and although it didn't quite reach the X-rated, Dionysian heights found in the pages of the comic book, it was still a show-stopping sequence in a series chock-full of shocking moments. Granted, it's difficult to catch all of the debaucherous acts taking place around the TNT Twin's mansion, including, but not limited to: a floating Starlight vibrator, an icicle dildo, electric nipple clamps,...

The Boys Cast Breaks Down Season 3's Violent and Visceral Visual Effects
Image
The Boys cast members Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso and Jensen Ackles recently gave fans new insight into the violent and visceral visual effects featured in the Prime Video superhero satire's third season.

Urban, Quaid, Alonso and Ackles appeared alongside visual effects supervisor Stephan Fleet in a VFX breakdown video shared by The Boys' official Twitter account. Among the notable behind-the-scenes secrets shared in the video is the process of bringing Billy Butcher's laser vision to life, with Urban recalling how he would "strike a pose" on set that Fleet and his team would then augment with CGI. Fleet also devotes a considerable amount of his screentime to detailing how The Boys Season 3's pixel-powered gore was achieved, describing the scene in which The Deep (Chase Crawford) eats a live octopus as "probably singlehandedly the hardest thing" the show's visual effects artists had to work on.

Esposito plays Stan Edgar, the CEO of Vought, working alongside a cast that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, and Chase Crawford. The series is known to push boundaries, acting as a subversive take on the genre.

When TVLine asked Esposito about Stan Edgar's possible return to The Boys in an upcoming season, the actor gave an interesting response. Esposito kept things vague about how or when, but still left viewers with the hope that Stan Edgar will live to see another day. Chace Crawford Looks Buff As The Deep While Filming ‘The Boys’ Season Four
Image
Chace Crawford was spotted on the streets of Toronto looking extra buff last week in costume as The Deep, his character on the dark comedy superhero series The Boys.

Crawford has done a stellar job as one of the antagonists of the series, a self-obsessed “Supe,” as they’re known on the show, with aquatic abilities.

Crawford as also filming alongside new cast members for the series Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry, who are playing new superheroes Sister Sage and Firecracker respectively. Anthony Starr who plays one of the most prominent Supes, Homelander, also appeared with his co-stars on set.

The scene appeared to be some sort of public event for the show’s Superhero collective known as The Seven, which we begin the series thinking is just a typically good group of heroes. We soon learn in the first episodes of the show, however, that this group has a...

Everything We Know About The Boys Season 4's New Supes
Image
Perhaps the biggest development in season 3 of "The Boys" is that Vought's beloved group of superheroes, The Seven, lost a couple members. Supersonic is dead, as is Black Noir. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) has left the group forever, and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) is no longer even a supe. That leaves only three members left: Homelander (Antony Starr), the Deep (Chase Crawford), and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher). If you're someone who'd actually like to be rescued from a dangerous situation, this is not exactly an inspiring line-up.

So naturally, season 4 will see the addition of a few new members of the Seven, which means we're about to be introduced to some brand new supes. So far, we've gotten a glimpse of two of them: Sister Sage and Firecracker. But who are these two supes? What are their powers? What can we expect from them as we head into the new season?...

How The Boys Crew Pulled Of Season 2's Wild Whale Scene
Laz Alonso, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara in The Boys (2019)
One of the funniest running gags in "The Boys" is how the Deep (Chase Crawford) feels a strong emotional connection to all sea-dwelling creatures, yet he can't seem to help accidentally getting them killed. One memorable example of this from season 1 was when he attempted to rescue a dolphin from a SeaWorld park knock-off. When he's forced to slam on the brakes of his getaway vehicle, the dolphin goes flying out the window, rolls around on the road a bit, and is run over by a truck.

The season 2 episode "Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men" outdid the dolphin...

Karl Urban Had Jack Quaid Afraid For His Life Behind The Scenes Of The Boys
Karl Urban at an event for Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Working with Karl Urban sounds like it can be kind of an adventure, though maybe not the kind that "The Boys" co-star Jack Quaid wanted to go on. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight along with fellow "The Boys" co-star Laz Alonso, Urban revealed that shooting one sequence on season 2 absolutely terrified Quaid, though when you find out why it's kind of hard to blame him.

For one sequence in season 2, The Boys end up on a speedboat, zooming away from The Deep (Chase Crawford) and some killer sharks before crashing into a beached whale. In order to film the scene, the...

It's certainly a good way to promote the series because, if you watch Gossip Girl online, you know the series was all about social media.

Let's get to it...

Jordan Alexander as Julien Calloway

Julien's trait is influence, so we're sure she's going to be a great addition to the Gossip Girl universe.

Part of the allure of the original series was how the characters had influence due to money and connections.

Savannah Smith as Monet de Haan

The Amazon Original series that had brilliantly captured the “Superbad” to a whole new level in season one, left its viewers on a jaw-dropping cliff-hanger. While we, the fans, wait for season 2 to premiere on September 4, here are 5 burning questions that we just cannot let go from our minds

Gossip Girl Reboot Delayed to 2021
Penn Badgley, Blake Lively, Taylor Momsen, Leighton Meester, Jessica Szohr, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick in Gossip Girl (2007)
The long wait for the Gossip Girl reboot just got longer.

The HBO Max update of the 2007-12 CW drama has been pushed to 2021, according to Vulture.

The popular teen drama series – which originally starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley, Chase Crawford, and Taylor Momsen, among others – was set to get a modern-day reboot, complete with a whole new cast on the new WarnerMedia-owned streamer.

Unfortunately, the series was set to go into production around the time the filming shutdowns brought on by the spread of Covid-19, effectively meaning a 2020 premiere would be unrealistic.

"They hadn’t even started production yet; they were in pre-production and ready to roll," HBO Max chief content officer Kevin Reilly recently told the outlet.

"Things that would have been really meaningful and high profile have gotten pushed back," he added of the decision.

The news is unsurprising, and it's better...

The Boys Review: Knocks Superhero Saturation to Its Knees
We're absolutely inundated with superheroes these days.

From DC adaptations on television to Marvel's mega movie franchise, it feels like we should be all tapped out.

Then a show like The Boys comes into the picture, and superheroes are suddenly fun again.

The series is based on Dynamite Entertainment's The Boys comics created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson (Preacher).

The boys of The Boys are the heroes of this story, but they're not super. They are comprised by a group of humans who have been wronged by the superpowered heroes and aim to put an end to their reign -- or at least drag them down a notch or two.

In many comics adaptations currently on television, especially in the Arrowverse, superheroes begin as vigilantes. They don't all have powers, and even if they do, their efforts are often frowned upon by the general public.

‘The Boys’ Review: Amazon’s Grim Action Series Skewers Superhero Culture — Tribeca
Laz Alonso, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara in The Boys (2019)
Picture it: a world obsessed with superheroes. Ok, that’s not too hard. Instead, picture a world where people have superpowers, and a lot of them happen to be awful.

That’s the distinction made by “The Boys,” the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series which debuted Monday at the Tribeca Film Festival. The first episode, written by Eric Kripke and directed by Dan Trachtenberg, posits an alternate universe where superheroes protect cities, while their personas are monetized to the extreme by the Vought corporation. There are dozens of superheroes working for Vought, branded and packaged for public consumption, with their real-life sexual deviances and accidental murders treated like any other public relations issue.

Yes, “The Boys” sets itself the challenge of being edgier than your typical superhero fare, leaning on the original comics created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson to make sure the sex and violence are dialed up...
