Rising British actor Ruby Stokes has opened up about stepping away from the Netflix television phenomenon Bridgerton amid viewers' outcry of disappointment regarding her absence. Stokes appeared sparsely as the sixth Bridgerton child, Francesca, throughout the first two seasons of the hit regency era series. Her character's increasingly minimal presence in the show has been explained by Stokes and Bridgerton showrunner Chris Van Dusen as a result of the actor's obligation to another Netflix ensemble piece Lockwood & Co, on which she is a series regular. Due to the scheduling conflicts of the two shows, Stokes has officially exited Bridgerton and Hannah Dodd has been recast as Francesca.
