South African-born Roydon Turner is a London-based businessman, philanthropist, senior research adviser, film director, writer, and producer. Following a distinguished 20-year career in the arts, he transitioned to filmmaking, winning the London Independent Film Festival.
Roydon co-wrote, directed, and produced Heart of Hope during the pandemic, a poignant film about a young girl awaiting a heart transplant. His passion lies in exploring challenging subject matter through stories that are both uplifting and thought-provoking.
Iris Warriors marks Roydon's latest on-screen ballet. While musicals have long made the seamless transition from stage to screen, how many ballets have done the same? This question inspired Roydon to pioneer a new genre: the ballet drama, a concept that fuses the captivating artistry of live ballet with the emotional depth and narrative power of cinema.
Beyond filmmaking, Roydon serves as a trustee of the charity Live Life Give Life and is the executive chairman and founder of Orgamites, a leading not-for-profit organisation that educates children about organ donation. Developed in collaboration with the Onassis Foundation, Team Margot, Canadian Blood Services, ESOT, the Government of the Western Cape, and his production company All Good Co, Orgamites has achieved international recognition.
