‘America’s Got Talent’ judge shake-up: Mel B is in, but who’s out?
Image
Mel B is returning to the judges’ table for the landmark 20th season of America’s Got Talent, which begins May 27 on NBC. But if she’s in, who’s out?

The former Spice Girl will be sitting alongside Simon Cowell (his 10th season), Howie Mandel (his 16th season), and Sofia Vergara (her sixth season), which means Heidi Klum is stepping down … at least for now. Klum previously took a break in Season 14, but she returned the following year. It’s likely that Klum’s duties as the returning host of Project Runway are responsible for her missing this installment of AGT.

Terry Crews is also back as the host of America’s Got Talent for the seventh consecutive cycle.

“It is absolutely brilliant to be able to announce this year as our 20th season,” said Cowell, who also serves as executive producer. “Over the years, we have seen some amazing acts...

AGT: Fantasy League Reveals Surprise Winner in Painfully Dramatic Finale
Image
Monday’s two-hour finale of America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League revealed the show’s first-ever winner, and it’s not the act anyone was expecting.

Other acts who fell short of making the top five included danger duo Billy & Emily England, shadow puppeteer Shadow Ace, contortionist Sofie Dossi and aerialist Aidan Bryant.

Howie Mandel booed on ‘AGT Fantasy League’ over Sheldon Riley criticism: ‘It was just loud’
Image
Monday night during the Semi-finals 2 episode of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League,” Australian singer Sheldon Riley from “AGT” Season 15 returned to the big stage with his rendition of “golden hour” by Jvke. While Mel B (his mentor), Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell gave him mostly positive comments, Howie Mandel received boos from the studio audience for his harsh criticism of Sheldon’s performance.

“You know, I’m just gonna say what I thought,” Howie declared when it was his turn to speak. “I think you’re one of the best singers we have heard on this show. But tonight, I thought that was way off. I found that way off.” As the crowd reacted negatively to Howie’s comments, he continued on, “Rather than hitting the notes, you were hitting volume, and you stayed in one little plane and it was just loud. ‘AGT Fantasy League’: Simon Cowell feels like he’s ‘just been dumped’ after Mel B steals Billy & Emily England [Watch]
Image
The series premiere of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League” delivered the reality TV show’s first major twist when Mel B utilized her Golden Buzzer to steal Billy & Emily England from Simon Cowell‘s team. Remember, for NBC’s “AGT” spin-off series, each judge cultivates their own team of 10 all-star acts, fan-favorites and former winners, but the Golden Buzzer twist allows the judges to “steal” someone else’s contestant and advance them into the season finale. (Think of it as “The Voice” on steroids.)

“I feel really excited. I feel amazing,” Mel B proclaimed during the January 1 episode after the confetti fell onto the brother-sister rollerblading duo. The camera then cut to Simon, who gritted his teeth in anger. Watch the Golden Buzzer video above.

Emily seemed to rub salt in Simon’s wound when she told host Terry Crews, “Honestly, when Simon called me, the 11-year-old Emily was a little bit upset.

Even from the 30-second sneak peek, it’s clear that the judges are impressed, even if they aren’t the ones Dorenbos necessarily needs to win over.

The line-up of acts on the third episode of season 1 of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” includes two winners of the franchise from around the world: opera singer Paul Potts, who claimed victory in the first season of “Britain’s Got Talent” back in 2007; and DJ Arch Jnr, the self-titled “Kid DJ” who won “South Africa’s Got Talent” in 2015. Get your first look at these international imports in the teaser video above.

Episode 1 of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” included a return appearance by Bianca Hale, the singer who launched the franchise back in 2006 when she won season 1 of “Agt.” She did not make it through to the final. Of the other nine acts, only one took the title in their respective country: DJ Arch Jnr, the self-titled “Kid DJ,” won “South Africa’s Got Talent” in 2015. Another, magician Darcy Oake finished in fifth place on “Bgt” in 2013.
