Viewers are apparently showing up for the final summer of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

The third and final season of Prime Video’s YA series attracted 25 million worldwide viewers in the week after its July 16 premiere, the Amazon-owned streamer says. That marks a 40 percent increase over the same timeframe for season two in July 2023 (which would put the first-week audience at roughly 17.9 million viewers).

That figure (which also represents a tripling of the show’s first-season audience over seven days) makes The Summer I Turned Pretty the No. 5 returning show in Prime Video’s history, based on the streamer’s internal data. It trails only seasons two and three of Reacher, season two of The Rings of Power and season four of The Boys. A handful of debut seasons have also topped that mark.

Fans may be ready to return to Cousins Beach for a third and final time when The Summer I Turned Pretty returns on Wednesday, but Prime Video is giving a warning ahead of time.

The official social media account for the Prime Video series on Monday cautioned viewers against bullying and hate speech ahead of season three premiere, which will offer the last chapter in Tsitp universe and a conclusion to the series’ ongoing love triangle.

“Cousins is our safe place,” the post read. “Everything good, everything magical. Let’s keep the conversation kind this summer.

“We have a Zero tolerance policy for bullying and hate speech. If you engage in any of the following you will be banned,” the post added before listing “community guidelines” including no “hate speech or bullying,” “targeting our cast or crew” and “harassing or doxxing members of the community.”

Prime Video is asking fans to remain respectful with online discourse about the final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty that starts Wednesday.

Season 3 will debut its first two episodes on Wednesday, July 16, before shifting to a weekly release schedule, Prime Video announced on Friday. The Amazon series will then drop new episodes every Wednesday, with the series finale debuting on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

The release schedule marks a switch-up from Season 1’s binge release, which also shifted for Season 2 when the show debuted its first three episodes before releasing subsequent episodes weekly.

The season takes place about two years after the events of Season 2, and Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno) are still going strong. So strong, in fact, that they want to get married. Of course, Belly’s mom discourages this completely, but the pair seem dead set on saying “I do.”

Following the success of their major marketing plan, Will (Steven Gerben) and Shane (Gillis) rush to grow their business professionally. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will officially be coming to an end with its third season. That installment, which will be composed of 11 episodes, is set to premiere in July of this year. It will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.

It’s not entirely surprising that this particular show is ending with Season 3. The young adult series is based on the novel trilogy series of the same name by author Jenny Han. Season 3 will continue the love triangle between Belly (Lola Tung) and brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). After growing up seeing them every summer, Belly notices their interest in her changes after she turns 16. Thus begins a summer that changes everything.

The young adult romantic-drama has been a hit for Prime Video since Season 1. With its 2022 premiere, it became the No. 1 show on Prime Video during its first weekend.

“The Summer I Turned Pretty” is now to set to end with its upcoming third season at Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon made the final season announcement on Friday. It was previously announced that the show would be back for Season 3 but it was not known that it would be the last season until now. Per Amazon, the final season will debut in July but no exact premiere date has been set at the time of this publishing. It will consist of 11 episodes.

The move is not altogether unexpected, as the show is based on the Jenny Han book trilogy of the same name, with each season corresponding to one book in the trilogy. The show originally debuted in 2022, with Season 2 dropping in 2023.

Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty will debut in summer 2025, creator Jenny Han announced during Amazon’s Upfront presentation on Tuesday. While not many details on the third installment were given, Han did also reveal that Season 3 will be expanded to consist of 11 episodes.

Season 2 consisted of eight episodes, while Season 1 boasted just seven episodes.

Production on Season 3 is currently underway. Series stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno joined Han on stage Tuesday to share a bit about how filming is going.

Amazon, during its upfront presentation Tuesday in New York, revealed that the third season of its popular take on Jenny Han’s beloved young adult book trilogy will not air until 2025.

Additionally, Amazon revealed that the third season — formally announced last August — will consist of 11 episodes. That’s up from the previously announced 10 and a high for the show after seasons one and two featured seven and eight installments, respectively.

Season three of Summer was greenlit ahead of both the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year. The YA dramedy at Amazon’s Prime Video, based on a novel by Jenny Han, has cast Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher. They’ll both recur in season two, which the streamer ordered ahead of its debut in June.
