Stranger Things is coming to an end with its upcoming season on Netflix, and Ross Duffer is teasing the first two episodes.

In a new post on social media, one-half of the Duffer Brothers series creators teased that the post-production process on the first two episodes of the sci-fi series’ final season had been completed.

“Chapters One and Two: locked, mixed, scored, colored, Done,” read the caption on Instagram.

Duffer included photos of the episode titles with Chapter One being titled “The Crawl” and Chapter Two being titled “The Vanishing of…,” with the name of the character excluded to prevent spoilers.

The series creator said that “The Crawl” is their favorite episode as it is “the most eventful episode since Season 1.”

'Stranger Things' Star Joseph Quinn Plays It Coy When Asked About Season 5 Return
Image
Stranger Things is all set to come to an end after nearly a decade, with the Netflix series expected to deliver all manner of horror, action, excitement, and surprises as it brings the sci-fi series phenomenon to its long-awaited conclusion. And one such surprise could be the return of a particular fan-favorite character.

Speaking with Extra TV, Stranger Things breakout Joseph Quinn, who has now joined the MCU as Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch in the Marvel outing The Fantastic Four: First Steps, played things suspiciously coy when asked whether audiences should expect to see Eddie Munson make a triumphant comeback in Stranger Things Season 5.

“Oh my god, yeah, I mean, it’s going to be out soon, isn’t it? Who knows? There’s always a chance for anything, isn’t there, really? Nothing’s impossible.”

Not outright denying that Eddie, who was killed in Stranger Things Season...

‘Stranger Things 5’ Co-Creator and Showrunner Debunks Episode Length Rumors
Image
The first official teaser trailer for “Stranger Things 5” arrived last week, followed soon after by social media rumors that the final season would run a tidy but daunting 19 hours long.

Don’t worry; series co-creator and showrunner Ross Duffer has officially debunked the “leaked” episode runtimes as false.

While it was highly circulated on social media that each of the final eight episodes would be feature-length, with many clocking in at two and a half hours or more, Ross Duffer shot those claims down via Instagram stories, stating that the rumored episode durations are “not even close to accurate.”

Of course, “Stranger Things” has featured robust runtimes before. The fourth season’s finale ran two hours and nineteen minutes, which only added plausibility to the circulating rumors. Especially as Duffer previously teased, “So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It’s like eight blockbuster movies.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 gets epic teaser trailer featuring Linda Hamilton: What to know about the final season
Image
"I need you to fight one last time."

Netflix released the first trailer for Stranger Things 5, the fifth and final season of its massively popular '80s-set sci-fi adventure series. The teaser previews an epic battle between the Hawkins crew and the sinister interdimensional being Vecna. The story that began way back in 2016 has been building to this.

The trailer features a lot of exciting imagery without giving away a lot of plot details. The trailer starts with Steve Harrington inside of a van with a satellite dish on top outside of a radio station, and throughout the trailer, he's cranking the volume up on whatever he's broadcasting up to 1000 decibels. Over the radio, we hear Dustin Henderson counting down to the start of a "burn" — creatures from the Upside Down hate fire — while everyone else waits anxiously. Something big is about to happen. The trailer also features our first...

The sneak peek is suitably epic and is packed full of visual effects, and the promise of an epic conclusion to the series that first premiered on Netflix in 2016.

The story is still being kept largely under wraps, but we do get a first look at Terminator icon Linda Hamilton as the mysterious Dr. Kay and some huge set pieces.

Among them is a scene where the comatose Max is being dragged to safety by Lucas as invading Demogorgons close in. Vecna's terrifying new design can also be seen in the trailer's closing moments.

"Wherever this blood leads...I need you to fight one last time," Hopper tells Eleven before lobbing a few grenades. "Let's end this, kid."

Set in the fall of 1987, the trailer teases an emotionally charged endgame as the people of Hawkins face a town under siege, from within and without.

Scarred by the catastrophic opening of the Rifts, Hawkins has been placed under military quarantine, with soldiers swarming the streets and the government intensifying its hunt for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), forcing her back into hiding. Meanwhile, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) — defeated, but not destroyed — has disappeared, and his ominous silence leaves our heroes bracing for a threat more powerful than anything they’ve faced before.

Eleven’s Missing Poster From Stranger Things Season 5 Has a Number That Spills Hawkins’ Secrets?

Okay, Netflix, I see what you did, and I’m not okay. Just when I thought I had emotionally braced myself for the final chapter of Stranger Things, you dropped that missing poster like a sucker punch to the soul. It’s not just a flyer; it’s bait, it’s a breadcrumb, it’s a riddle asking who’s really looking for Jane Hopper.

With Season 5 set between November 26 and December 31, 2025, and the story reportedly leaping into Fall 1987, this poster jolts us back to June 13, 1986, when Eleven supposedly disappeared. Suddenly, our screens aren’t enough; we’re dialing numbers and decoding voice messages.

Yes, if this eerie poster and voicemail are clues, the show is preparing to pull the rug out from beneath us. This time, Hawkins isn’t trembling. It’s cracking wide open.

Find out which of your favorite Stranger Things stars are attending Netflix's Tudum!
Image
We have very high hopes for Netflix's Tudum 2025 event coming at the end of the month! The celebrations are a great way to highlight some of the streamer's most popular shows with fans, and provide us with release dates, sneak peeks, and more deets to highly-anticipated seasons we're waiting for. One of those is Stranger Things season 5.

Unsurprisingly, the streamer has stayed very tight-lipped with details about the sci-fi horror's final season. Yes, we've gotten some updates regarding when to expect it - 2025 - and some fun behind-the-scenes footage of the cast and crew when filming wrapped. Though we really don't have any other details. I don't know if Netflix will share a teaser video or trailer. But, I would love it if we at least got a release date so we know when to expect the series to come back this year!

Image
Stranger Things has arrived on Broadway, as Tuesday night marked the opening of Stranger Things: The First Shadow in New York after previously taking over London’s West End.

The show, written by Kate Trefry — who is also a writer on the Netflix series — serves as a prequel to the events on TV; it’s set in Hawkins in 1959, and features the high school versions of characters from the series, including Winona Ryder’s Joyce, Sean Astin’s Bob Newby and David Harbour’s Hopper. Their high school experience is upended by the arrival of a new student, Henry Creel (who was introduced in the last season), as he begins experimenting with newfound powers. Show creators the Duffer Brothers executive produced the stage production, and teased how it will link up with the upcoming fifth and final season of the TV show.

Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Caleb McLaughlin, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, and Gaten Matarazzo in Stranger Things (2016)
After being delayed several months by the writers strike and the actors strike, season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things (which is also the last season of the show) finally went into production at the start of 2024 with a twelve month shooting schedule, wrapping at the end of December. Series creators the Duffer Brothers are working hard to get the season ready for release by the end of the year – and Netflix co-ceo Ted Sarandos told Variety he doesn’t think there will be a “dry eye” watching this final season.

Stranger Things has the following synopsis: A love letter to the ‘80s classic genre films that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is a thrilling drama set in the seemingly normal Midwestern town of Hawkins, Indiana. After a boy vanishes into thin air, his close-knit group of friends and family search for answers and are pulled into a high-stakes and deadly series of events.

Sadie Sink shares that she may have embarrassing photos after getting so emotional wrapping up Stranger Things
Image
Netflix’s juggernaut sci-fi nostalgia series Stranger Things is wrapping up after an amazing run. The child stars have now become young adult actors as they’ve started to break out into newer roles, including Millie Bobby Brown fighting robots alongside Chris Pratt in the upcoming The Electric State. Finn Wolfhard recently commented that wrapping up the series was “incredibly emotional, obviously. It’s the last 10 years of my life. […] My whole childhood was there. It was sort of the Toy Story 3 moment of leaving your toys behind. It was really special. We had a long last year. We shot sort of ‘Lord of the Rings’ style with a year-long shoot. It was a great way to go out and very intense. I feel like it couldn’t have ended better.“

According to The Hollywood Reporter, his castmate Sadie Sink is all about crying for the end of this era.

Stranger Things season 5 quietly recasting two forgotten characters
Image
When you think of Stranger Things, you probably think of its most popular main characters, like Eleven, Will, Steve, Hopper, and after season 4, maybe even Vecna. But you probably haven't thought about some of the Netflix original series' side characters in quite a while. Well, that might work to your advantage in the fifth and final season, as two likely forgotten characters have been recast.

We don't have to worry about any of the beloved main characters not returning for Stranger Things season 5. All of our favorites will be back for the last hurrah. However, a pair of younger family members of main characters will look a bit different when the show makes its long awaited comeback.

According to Cbr, both Holly Wheeler and Sara Hopper have been recast with new young actors for the final season. In case you aren't able to remember who these characters are, Holly is...

‘Stranger Things’ Star Matthew Modine Loved Teasing Fans With Behind-the-Scenes Video: ‘I’m Just a Troll’
Image
Warning: Spoilers for “Stranger Things” Season 4 below

Matthew Modine is addressing an Instagram video he posted back in November suggesting Dr. Martin Brenner may return in “Stranger Things” Season 5, telling TheWrap he “might be the biggest troll on the Internet.”

Audiences will remember that Brenner died in Season 4 of the Netflix series after being shot and killed by a government official while trying to help Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) escape a top secret research facility in the desert and return to Hawkins. While Brenner has previously escaped death before, the Duffer brothers told the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast in 2022 that Brenner is dead “for real this time,” adding, “He’s toast.”

But on Nov. 27, the actor posted a video to Instagram of him sitting in a makeup chair with facial prosthetics laughing maniacally. You can watch Modine’s video, below:

Matt & Ross Duffer Reveal 'Stranger Things' Season 5 "Movie Scale" and Future Spinoff Plans
Image
Netflix is preparing to bring one of its most successful shows to a close this year with the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. However, as we already know, this is not really the end of the Stranger Things story, as even though the flagship series will wrap up the story of Eleven and her friends’ battle against the evil of Vecna, the Duffer brothers have made no secret of the fact that is more stories to tell. Matt and Ross Duffer reiterated this during a globally live-streamed Netflix preview event (via EW).

The pair essentially gave fans a catch-up session on everything they have said about the return of the series in the last year, starting with a reminder of exactly how big this season is going to be in terms of scale. Ross Duffer said:

The Return of This 'Stranger Things' Villain Might Ruin the Finale
Image
Netflix recently announced that Stranger Things' long-awaited fifth and final season will premiere in 2025. Showrunners have yet to set a specific date for fans to mark on their calendars. However, after eight years full of unexpected delays and production hiatuses, audiences now know their favorite Hawkins' misfits will soon be back in action (and for the last time).

To ensure the finale remains spoiler-free before its release, the cast and crew have been excruciatingly tight-lipped about what fans can expect. Still, there are a few things we do know. Viewers can look forward to an undisclosed time jump, new and old cast members, and a story that only takes place in Hawkins. Additionally, among the other returning characters, a familiar scientist/misguided father figure will be making an unforeseen reappearance.

In an Instagram post, Oppenheimer actor Matthew Modine confirmed that Dr. Brenner will be coming back. Since the character is notably dead,...
