The Valley is going to look very different in Season 3 after Jax Taylor's unexpected announcement that he would be leaving to focus on his health and sobriety. It is no secret that the show needed to make some changes ahead of the new season because of the breakdown in the relationships between its cast: Taylor and his ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright, are going through a bitter divorce, and Jesse Lally and Michelle Lally are not on good terms either. But was this the change the cast and fans wanted?
And, perhaps even more importantly, did the cast have any idea that Taylor was going to make his exit before the news became public? A source has previously told People how the cast were "blindsided" by Taylor's news, and this includes Cartwright.

The biggest revelation on Tuesday night’s “Valley” reunion was that Jax Taylor’s domestic abuse went much deeper than was discussed on the show this season.
When host Andy Cohen asked Taylor’s estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, about the huge fight between them that led to Taylor seeking professional help, Cartwright started listing off all of the abuse she faced from her spouse.
She began with information that audiences knew from this season: “He was extremely aggressive. He threw the coffee table. It landed on my knee. It turned black immediately. He threw both barstools.”
Then came the new information.
“He threw my Stanley cup and broke it,” she continued. “He threw my phone and broke it. He threw my laptop and broke it. He threw me into the rose bushes…”
Although Taylor denied it, Cartwright doubled down, saying, “Yes, you did. It’s on my Ring camera doorbell.

Fans of The Valleywere aware that the show had to make some changes to Season 3 due to the troubling dynamics between the cast following bitter breakups and breakdowns in communication. Alex Baskin knows there are a lot of questions about the future of The Valley, especially considering one of its founding cast members, Jax Taylor, just announced his departure from the Bravo series last Wednesday.
“We’re making our plans for next season,” the executive producer tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Jax is obviously a mainstay. We did spend half the season without him, and that period of time was really full and rich, so I don’t think that we’re [searching] for story to tell. I think it’s going to be different, but I don’t think different is a bad thing.”
An extension of Vanderpump Rules, the spinoff was created around the crux of following the former stars of the Lisa Vanderpump-led series into their adult lives, living in California’s San Fernando Valley. With no shortage of drama, The Valley has wrapped its sophomore season more...

Andy Cohen fully supports Jax Taylor‘s decision to leave Bravo’s The Valley. Earlier this week, Taylor told Us Weekly that he would not be returning for the reality show’s upcoming third season to focus on his sobriety, mental health, and his role as a coparent with his estranged wife and costar, Brittany Cartwright. “Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz,” he told the outlet in a Wednesday, July 16, statement. Cohen shared his reaction to the news in an interview with People published on Friday, July 18. “I think it’s a good decision,” he said. “I think he needs to work out s*** without cameras around.” The Watch What Happens Live host shared similar comments on the Thursday, July 17, episode of his SiriusXM radio show Andy Cohen Live, noting that Taylor seemed “very committed” to making...

Jax Taylor has confirmed he will be leaving The Valley after Season 2.
The Vanderpump Rules alum says that he will focus on his sobriety following his exit from the Bravo series.
“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” Taylor said in a statement shared by Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz.”
Taylor’s struggles with sobriety were a main storyline for him in The Valley Season 2. The knotty question of whether Jax Taylor would return for Season 3 of “The Valley” has now been answered: Through his team, Taylor has issued a statement saying he is stepping away from the Bravo show himself in order to focus on his recovery and mental health.
The statement, obtained by Variety, reads thusly: “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of ‘The Valley.’ Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting relationship. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.” Us Weekly first reported the news of Taylor’s departure.
In March, ahead of the show’s Season 2 premiere on April 15, Taylor revealed that he had been addicted to cocaine on and off for more than two decades.

Bravo's The Valley has wrapped Season 2, and although the series has been popular, some fans also feel it has been depressing. Stassi Schroeder, who previously starred on Vanderpump Rules with some of the stars of The Valley recently shared her thoughts about why she can no longer watch the show.
"I had to stop watching it. The last season, I was like 'This is great f***ing television,'" Schroeder said on a recent episode of the Disrespectfully podcast with Katie Maloney and Dayna Kathan, per Us Weekly. "Then I started the first two or three episodes of this season, and I'm like, 'This is so f***ing dark.' Indeed, some of the subject matter on the show does not make for lighthearted viewing and Schroeder has some suggestions for how production can fix this.

For Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor, stars of Bravo’s hit reality show “The Valley,” toxic arguments were nothing new. It’s why Cartwright left Taylor in January 2024, taking their young son, Cruz, with her. But last July, two days before the show’s second season started production, Taylor crossed a line. Cartwright and Cruz visited him at the Valley Village home where he continued to live, and while looking at the family iPad, Taylor found intimate texts between Cartwright and a friend of his. As Taylor later recounted in the Season 2 premiere, “I went full fucking unhinged rage.”
In a frenzy, Taylor flipped over a coffee table — which, Cartwright says on the show, hit her knee, hurting her, and “it turned black immediately.” He punched the wall. He threw furniture, breaking one of the kitchen bar stools. All the while, 3-year-old Cruz was in the next room.

A fresh group of Angelenos will take the helm and build on the legacy of the series as filming for Vanderpump Rules season 12 begins.

Tuesday’s episode of The Valley continued last week’s drama. The cast went on a group trip to Santa Barbara, courtesy of Jesse Lally. Some fans think Brittany took things too far. Now, Nia and Brittany are sharing their sides of the drama.
What Happened
Things went down on the last night of the trip. However, the tension built up slowly during the day. Brittany, Janet Caperna, and Jasmine Goode noticed that Danny Booko took a swig from a liquor bottle hidden in the cabinet. Danny didn’t think it was a big deal, but they assumed he was sneaking a drink because he was drinking alone in the dark. He drank so...

Jax Taylor’s presence is still felt on Season 2 of The Valley. On last Tuesday’s episode, he sent rage texts to his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright. He took a break from the show to enter a mental health facility. In a new interview, Kristen Doute admitted that his departure was a good thing for the cast.
Absence Brings The Cast Together
Kristen spoke to Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap” co-host Lauren Herbert to talk about the upcoming season of The Valley. During their talk, she revealed what it was like to have Jax away from the show. He entered a 30-day mental health facility to work on his anger, mental health, and substance abuse issues.
At first, it seemed weird that one of the stars of the Vanderpump Rules spinoff was absent. Kristen and Jax were the reasons why this show was born. However, Kristen thought it was a good thing.
