Bow

One Rare Bow Is What Ironeye Mains Need to Solo Elden Ring Nightreign
Image
Ironeye is undeniably one of the best characters to pick in Elden Ring Nightreign. What makes him stand out is his unparalleled proficiency with ranged weapons, especially bows. He excels at dealing damage from a distance, allowing players to stay safe while dishing out powerful attacks.

While his high Dexterity means he can wield various weapons, the bow is definitely the best choice for taking down the Nightlords. It’s precise, adaptable, and allows you to keep enemies at arm’s length. Out of all the bows available, however, the Serpent Bow stands out as his ultimate weapon.

Why the Serpent Bow is Ironeye’s best friend in Elden Ring Nightreign

When it comes to Ironeye’s weapon of choice, the Serpent Bow reigns supreme. As its name implies, this bow delivers a sting, especially with its poison passive that applies poison damage with every shot. This is incredibly useful,...

The 12 Best Gary Cooper Movies, Ranked
Image
Before all the modern day movie stars that fans obsess over on a daily basis, there was Gary Cooper. Tall, handsome, and with an (*ahem*) reputation in Hollywood for romancing starlets, he dominated the silver screen for decades. Cooper got his start during the silent era, when he made a name for himself as a romantic lead, before being one of the lucky male stars to transition successfully into talkies. Beginning in the 1930s, he hopped from genre to genre, starring in action adventure pictures and Westerns as well as showcasing a natural affinity for comedy.

During his time in Hollywood, he was nominated for five Academy Awards and took home two, in addition to earning an Academy Honorary Award just weeks before he died from cancer in 1961. His work as an actor was impressive, but his reputation and legacy are larger-than-life. There were rumors of romances between him and...

'Masters of the Universe' Set Images Hint at She-Ra Crossover
Image
It looks like Masters of the Universe is already hinting at some unexpected presences in the reboot of the '80s cartoon, as new set images have revealed references to several more obscure characters from the franchise, including some from sister series, She-Ra, Princess of Power.

New images from the set, which revealed another look at the jawbridge of Castle Grayskull, show a large set piece that appears to be a huge map of Eternia, housed in what looks like a temple floor, or possibly part of the interior of Castle Grayskull. What is most interesting is that around the map are several depictions that, even from a blurry distance, can be made out as characters from the two Filmation cartoons.

As shared by ForEternia, the characters seen in the illustrations include King Hiss, Bow, Zodak, Netossa, and Perfuma, giving a hint at a much broader Eternia being in play...

Masters Of The Universe Set Photos Tease Zodak, King Hiss, And Characters From She-ra
Image
We recently got our first (distant) glimpse of Castle Grayskull and several costumed actors - one of whom might just have been Jared Leto as Skeletor - on the set of the live-action Masters of the Universe movie, and thanks to ForEternia.com, we now have a look at a huge map of Eternia - complete with some very interesting illustrations.

Some zoomed in (though still not the clearest) shots of the figures surrounding the map reveal what appear to be depictions of a number of supporting characters, including Zodak and King Hiss, as well as Bow, Netossa, and Perfuma from She-Ra!

Zodak, aka the Cosmic Enforcer, is a powerful, immortal Eternian who is a sword enemy of the Snake Men, led by King Hiss. While it's not particularly surprising to see these figures from the lore's ancient history on a map, we did not expect to see any She-Ra references in the movie.

All 97 Oscars Best Picture Winners, Ranked
Image
[Editor’s Note: This list was originally published in February 2024. It has been updated to add new winners, including “Anora.”]

When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences hosted their first annual Academy Awards on May 16, 1929 — a short, 15-minute ceremony at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel with tickets that cost the equivalent of $90 today — there were two top awards that night (and an honorary trophy for groundbreaking talkie “The Jazz Singer.”) The first was “Best Unique and Artistic Picture,” honoring boldly experimental art films pushing the medium forward: “Sunrise,” F. W. Murnau’s lyrical masterpiece of a romantic drama, received that prize. Then there was “Outstanding Picture,” given to more commercial fare made within the Hollywood system: That award was given out to “Wings,” a very good and extremely popular World War I action romance starring Clara Bow.

When AMPAS mounted a second ceremony a year later, they retroactively decided that Outstanding Picture was the real highest honor they gave out and discontinued Artistic Picture forever. And, as Oscar ceremonies...

Chinese Blockbuster ‘Ne Zha 2’ Takes North American Bow, Matthew Rankin On ‘Universal Language’, 20th Annual Oscar-Nominated Shorts – Specialty Preview
Image
Universal Language, the original and quietly funny Oscar-shortlisted Cannes and TIFF premiering feature by Canadian filmmaker Matthew Rankin debuts on one screen each in New York and LA. Chinese animated juggernaut Ne Zha 2 opens Stateside and Oscar Nominated Shorts are back for a 20th season. Sony Picture Classics’ Becoming Led Zeppelin expands to 1,039 locations from 369 Imax screens and IFC Films jumps Armand to 230 theaters from two. Oscar contenders continue to populate screens.

Oscilloscope’s Universal Language quite likes this window with the Academy Awards a few weeks away. In a crowded market, “this date is great. Once the ceremony comes and goes, there is a rotation of films out of theaters,” says theatrical distribution chief Andrew Carlin.

He calls Rankin a great actor and filmmaker with a particular sense of style and Universal Language a film with “a strangeness to it that defies classification” — a plus for Oscilloscope.

Rankin returned the compliment.

Match #1: Will Ospreay def. Buddy Matthews The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Buddy hit a shoulder tackle and Will popped right back up to his feet. Buddy accelerated, dropped a shoulder, and rammed Will. Ospreay attempted a cutter, but Buddy intercepted it. Buddy ducked two round house kicks from Ospreay. Buddy dropkicked Will in the chest. Ospreay fired back with a plancha, taking down Buddy on the arena floor. Matthews retaliated with a knee strike and a tight headlock back in the ring. Ospreay and Matthews built up speed, bounced off the ropes, and collided in the center of the ring, both having the same idea. Ospreay staggered Buddy...

Clara Bow Festival Set at Film Forum: ‘Wings’ and ‘My Lady of Whims’ to Screen
Image
The iconically seductive silent film star Clara Bow is being further immortalized courtesy of a festival at New York City’s Film Forum.

1920s superstar Bow, who recently inspired a track named after her on Taylor Swift’s “Tortured Poets Department” album, is at the center of a career retrospective screening series at the New York City indie theater. Deemed the very first “It Girl,” Bow starred in films such as “Wings,” “The Saturday Night Kid,” and short “The Pill Pounder” which was recently rediscovered and subsequently restored after 101 years.

Bow’s turn in silent comedy “It” also inspired the very term “It Girl,” which refers to “sex appeal” as coined by British author Elinor Glyn, who also appears in the feature as well as a young Gary Cooper.

The festival will run on most Mondays at Film Forum from October 7 to December 30, with an additional screening on Thursday, October...

‘Terror Tuesday: Extreme’ Episode 8 “Viral Curse” Recap And Ending Explained
Image
It’s a very thin line between ambition and temptation. And it is impossible to figure out when one becomes another. Macbeth was an ambitious soldier, but his temptation made him a murderer. A similar thing happened with Ple in the eighth and final episode of Terror Tuesday: Extreme. She was a simple woman who wanted to send her 6-year-old daughter Kaew to the best school in the locality even though she didn’t have the means to do so. [Spoiler Alert] In the end, it was Ple’s ambition that led her into temptation. And I guess it is common knowledge that when you submit to the devil, death and despair follow.

What Did Ple Want?

The very first frame of Viral Curse established the fact that Ple had desires like any other woman of her age, but she couldn’t fulfill them because, being a single mother, she had to...

Match #1: Swerve Strickland def. Ar Fox The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Fox attacked Swerve as the show was coming onto the air. They brawled onto the ramp. Ar Fox jumped off the stage and landed on Swerve with a crossbody press! They made it to the ring and Fox flipped over the top rope and landed on Swerve on the arena floor, Fox clearly taking the fight to Strickland. Swerve hip tossed Fox onto the ring apron, with Fox’s legs taking the brunt of the impact. Swerve whipped Fox into the steel guardrail.

10 Best-Written Female Characters in Superhero Shows
Image
Media has misrepresented women for years, especially when it comes to the superhero genre, as it has been a mostly male-dominated field for a long time. However, in recent years, TV shows have made an effort to create more rounded and realistic female characters, which has also impacted the superhero industry.

Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe have become such impactful cultural phenomena, superheroes have become some of the most beloved characters in TV shows. However, a lot of female characters suffered from two-dimensional portrayals that depended on the male protagonists of the series. Fortunately, networks have been working on this, creating more relatable, interesting, and three-dimensional characters in superhero shows.

1 | In the Sleepy Hollow finale, wouldn’t it have made more sense for Lara to sacrifice her soul to the devil — rather than Ichabod — given that there are basically two of her in this timeline (and she’s kinda the surplus one)?
