Simran Kaur, who is the voice behind the famous cartoon character Nobita from the animated series ‘Doraemon’, said after she gave her voice to Nobita, the show became ‘Number 1’. Simran Kaur gave her voice to Nobita at the age of nine.

Sharing her journey of becoming the voice of Nobita, she said: “It was very simple for me. I auditioned for the voice of Nobita and I became Nobita’s voice. When I went to the audition, I was the only child present there. I was 9 that time. I had thought only I was asked to come to audition. But, later we (she and her parents) came to know that lakhs and lakhs of children from various parts of India were auditioned for the same. But I was the lucky one to be chosen.”

Actress Simaran Kaur will soon be making her regional debut with the film ‘Pratha’. Talking about the film directed by K Murali Krishna, she says, it is all set to release in June this year. “It was a pleasure working on this film. It will be dubbed in Hindi, Punjabi, Odia. We shot at multiple locations such as Delhi, Rajasthan, Orissa. I am sure people will love it. I can speak Hindi, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Odia, and so language was not an issue for me,” she says.

Speaking different languages always helps, she says, adding, “I guess, it does, I learned so much as a voice artist, how to modulate my voice, and pronouncing words in different dialect, it really helps in speaking the regional languages in the original tone and I guess I pick the nuances in the local language and I pick them quickly.”

“Aggar Tum Na Hote’ actress Simaran Kaur, whose music video ‘Current Maare’ is finally out, has said that the project means a lot to her. The actress also said that the track ‘Current Maare’ is a perfect party number.

Talking about her glamorous look in the song, Simaran said, “I have a very different and glamorous look in the song, something which I haven’t done before. It’s a dance number, the music is very catchy and upbeat. I had a great time shooting for this video.”

She adds, “This is something I haven’t done before. It’s different because whenever you do a TV serial, it’s more traditional but this is a very new avatar, and glamorous. She said: “‘Sharminda’ is a music video about heartbreak. The guy cheats on the girl and later the girl confronts him. It is a very heart wrenching and touching song. We went to Thailand to shoot this song and shot at beautiful locations in Pattaya.”
