Nicole Mairose Dizon

Nicole Mairose Dizon is a first-generation Filipina-American writer/director and award-winning producer from Baldwin Park, CA. The daughter of a divorced bookkeeper and former smog technician, her work explores class, strivers and the overlooked with elements of thriller and surrealism. After she graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine, she worked at ICM, Scott Free and various scripted and unscripted shows. She is a Project Involve Fellow, Kundiman Asian American Poetry Fellow and California Arts Council Fellow. Her narrative short, Morena, opened Gold House and UTA's 2023 Filipino/x American History Month Independent Filmmakers Showcase. In 2022, she was featured in Ava DuVernay's Array Crew for Filipino American History Month for her work as a Showrunner's Assistant on Amazon's Blade Runner 2099. Dizon's producing work screened at SXSW, Aspen and Palm Springs International Shortsfest among others; it was also recognized by the NAACP, The New Yorker and Short of the Week. She's a member of Grammy U, the Recording Academy's community of emerging music creatives and professionals. While waiting for the premieres of her upcoming short for the 2025 Deustche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award Fellowship in partnership with Ghetto Film School and Fifth Season and another short about T'boli dreamweavers, she's writing her first feature. She also recently became a Script Coordinator for an upcoming Netflix thriller. Outside of work, she loves hiking, music production, baseball (Go Dodgers!), F1 and Duolingo (not sponsored...yet).
