As someone who’s appreciated films like Jack and Jill, and Three Blind Mice but then didn’t adore Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and its sequel, I approached Screamboat with a blend of intrigue and scepticism. The film delves into the growing trend of turning classic public-domain characters into horror icons, transforming the cheerful mascot of Steamboat Willie into a bloodthirsty nightmare. With David Howard Thornton, known for his silent yet menacing performance as Art the Clown in Terrifier, stepping into the role of this twisted rodent, I had cautious optimism.
The story unfolds aboard a late-night Staten Island ferry, where an unlucky group of passengers finds themselves trapped with a monstrous, mutated mouse that has one goal: slaughter.

With a nearly perfect rating, it's no surprise that FX and Hulu's under-the-radar hit English Teacherhas been renewed for Season 2. The offbeat comedy series debuted last September with just eight episodes, but earned such glowing reviews that production on future installments is now expected to begin later this month.
Deadline reports that FX has officially confirmed that English Teacher has been renewed for Season 2. The news follows TV Line's recentreport that the studio was on the verge of securing English Teacher's future, with production already slated to resume later this month.
Series creator and executive producer Brian Jordan Alvarez also stars as English Teacher's eponymous educator, Evan Marquez, an openly gay high school teacher in Austin, Texas, who must contend with the conservative atmosphere of his workplace along with the everyday challenges of lazy students, frustrated colleagues, and furious parents. English Teacher, a new sitcom with a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, has become a hit on streaming after just two episodes. The show hails from Brian Jordan Alvarez, the creator and executive producer, who viewers may recognize for his roles in shows like Jane the Virgin and the rebooted Will & Grace. He's also appeared in films such as 80 for Brady and the hit horror-comedy M3GAN. But with his new series, Alvarez is stepping into the lead role in an interesting way.
New data from Reelgood reveals that English Teacher is already making an impression on the streaming charts. The FX show, which streams on Hulu, took eighth place in the overall Top 10 for the week of August 29 through September 4, across all platforms. When looking only at television shows, however, the sitcom ranks higher and comes in fifth. Kaos, the new Netflix fantasy drama starring Jeff Goldblum, takes the top spot overall.

Exclusive: Alyssa Milano (Brazen), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Gina Torres (9-1-1: Lone Star) and Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us) have signed on for roles in the feature-length anthology Give Me an A, which links together 15 short films, in response to the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.
The film currently in post-production will have been completed within two months from the date of Roe’s overturning — which eliminated the longstanding constitutional right to abortion — in an effort to ensure this is a response and not a delayed reaction. The creators, cast and crew have made a significant effort to expedite the process in order to start a conversation with audiences about the importance of bodily autonomy and address the dysfunction of a democracy that is not protecting the needs of a majority of the population. Support from vendors like Keslow, Panavision and The Ebell of Los Angeles has allowed...
